How are these movies expected to perform at the box office?
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Any word at this point on how the movies will perform at the box office is pure speculation, but it is clear that Disney and Walden’s hopes are high for the series. There is a huge fan base installed all around the world, as the source material has many fans. Expect Disney's marketing engine to factor in greatly, and raise awareness levels all over the world.

What about merchandising?
Collectibles
There are many versions of the books available now. Disney's Buena Vista Games made the Chronicles of Narnia video games for the Playstation 2, Xbox, GameCube, PC, and Handheld formats for release in November 2005. There are also statues coming from Dark Horse, and new editions of the books. Check out the collectibles section for more!

What are the plans for the DVD release of the films?
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe:
There are five editions; Widescreen, Pan & Scan (Fullframe), and Special Edition Widescreen. They've also recently added an Extended Edition, and the same edition with Bookends. Read more here.

Prince Caspian:
Unknown, but will likely follow the release pattern set by The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. It remains to be seen if HD-DVD or Blu-Ray Disc will become the new standard in home entertainment, and by the time this comes out, there could be a clear difference by the time this release comes around, with many different versions. If HD-DVD and Blu-Ray Disc were smart, they would have merged and created one solid format.
