Sonnets Here, In-House

OMG that's true :eek: I forgot that :eek: It has been a while ago.

I never search the easy way out Joe. I always try to face something directly.
You are doing a great job with your sonnets!!!! I recognize the members in the sonnets you wrote them ;)

FOR PAUL MARTIN

With software and conventions, and the news
Of movies and museums must he deal;
Besides the forum, he displays the views
Of writers from the world that we call real.

As Rangers kept the Shire alive and free,
Without most hobbits even guessing this,
Our Specter must inspect and oversee
The infrastructure--while we, in the bliss

Of ignorance, enjoy the site each day,
Not seeing how the Specter's efforts merge
With all our fun; still, he directs the play,
As he's directed actors at a church.

Coordinating each and every Mod,
Paul consecrates the cyberspace to God.

To Josie-Caspian

You said that you look up to me just now,
Acknowledging that we've not spoken much.
Be sure that when I gore a sacred cow,
It's to prevent young souls from being lunch
For Screwtape and his gang; though not in sight,
Their "seeking to devour" is all too real.
They don't want you to see things in the light;
They want you to be fooled by what you feel.
Performing dance, you must be exquisite;
God wants your beauty kept in His command,
Which calls not just for feelings, but for wit;
The brain's involved, as well as foot and hand.
Keep truth in mind, as round and round you whirl,
And you'll be one fine, formidable girl.

YEAH!!! Josie deserves this soooo much :D I love her dearly!!! Well done Joe and when are you going to make one for Barbarian King?

Joe

Joe a man of honor and of trust
Never fails to amaze us all
He writes for joy and not for lust
Whether it's Winter, Summer, Spring and Fall
The Tale of Sophia Renee
Makes us cry from joy
He doesn't write something in just one day
Mature and smart and wise cause he is not a teenage boy
Recently he suffered another tragic loss
Death knocked on his door again
But he knows there is only one almighty Boss
Who Joe admire for eternity and not now and then
His tragic life so far has not taken him down
A father, grandfather and brother and even Uncle to TDL
Please accept this poem crown
Because your sonnets are a treasure to all as I don't have to tell

I'm stupefied! Now, not one but TWO beautiful women have written guest-poems in my honor on this thread!! To reference my private joke with Bruiser, that warms my pancreas. Why, anybody would think I started this thread self-servingly in the first place, only to make ladies think highly of me!

* Hmmm, let's see, how can I remedy that impression? I'll bet another sonnet about a GUY would help. Who's a male friend I haven't yet sonnetized? Barbarian King! Will he take my word for it that I would have gotten to him even if Nessa HADN'T written her sweet poem for me? That I was taking my time because I wanted to do a really good job for him?

B-King, I can only ask you to believe that I did already intend to get to you. Now, I will make the commitment to have YOUR sonnet ready before I go to sleep tonight!

And YOU, gorgeous Vanessa, can anticipate a FIFTH sonnet for you in the near future.

For Mike, a.k.a. Barbarian King

Some gladly make themselves believe the lie
That we are doing no good for Iraq;
But try to tell that to a U.S. guy
Who gave Chaldean youngsters their life back.

That's Michael, King to some, and friend of Christ,
More focussed on the deed than on the boast,
His charity more DONE than advertised,
But known to, and led by, the Holy Ghost.

The labor of two parents he takes on,
For children whom he cherishes so much;
And lovely ladies knew, at LionCon,
There was no wrong thought in his friendly touch.

I kept him waiting for his sonnet, but
I do admire this Christian patriot!
