We made obligatory bids At life. My plan was a dumb one. That much has become evident. Did we already lose the race? Or did the race just take a turn? I think our glasses have changed hues. Not rosy now, but clear as day – Every day, rough as its neighbor. If disappointment we must spurn And when we fail, believe we lose We’ll never put our fears away Nor find peace in all our labor. There’s still some time to conquer space And presidents are often old. But dreams like that don’t make or break The people that we all become. So put on now a hopeful face Be wise and eager, earnest, bold A deep, deep breath of fresh air take Your years aren’t measured by their sum. Glenburne Scourge of Squirreldom Staff member Royal Guard Sep 17, 2017 #23 It's funny how this sort of thing becomes evident even once you get into your mid-twenties; I guess some people don't think about it until they're 40 and call it a mid-life crisis, but it's true. Not that all surprises in life are bad, of course.
