Mod Q&A Thread II

Because some troublemaker changed it. ;)

I see the Duffers have been hard at work trying to take over this thread... :D

Are we allowed to ask Mods to delete threads we've created? Like, suppose we created a thread a long time ago that "failed", and it's just sitting there taking up space? Is it okay to ask a Mod to delete certain threads that you feel serve no purpose?

I have no idea what you are talking about Derny [exclamation point]:D

Yes, you just PM any mod with the link to the thread and ask them to delete it. Most of them will do it for you, except HB, because he's too lazy and doing that would involve 'work'.

(Just between you and me, Slp, HB actually does a lot of the Mod work  I don't know where he gets the time.)

So, a question: Can the Mods post in un-locked threads? *confused*

(I'm sure he does)

NO! Duh...us non-mods won't let you.:p (really of course you can, what would we do to you besides chase you with pitchforks):p

I would like to congradulate SlpNarniaQueen on doing something we all thought was impossible: Get a mod to spam in a thread she shouldn't be spamming in

Dern will be having a little talking to...maybe I can get her to do some work around here :D

*bows* I've been called talented, but this takes it to a whole new level. Now I will stop spamming before you're forced to talk to ME! (wow, scary thought!)

This thread will not be split. It takes a lot of time, energy, and server power to split a thread. I know this is in the Duffer section, but please stop spamming this thread. Thank you.

*submissive voice* Yes, Mod Master...

Are we allowed to Duffer on the side, in parenthases, if we're asking legitimate questions? :D

Q: Can members be un-banned?

A: Well duh, some members are only like, suspended banned, so they come back after their suspension which means that they then become un-banned.

Q: Do you ever delete threads that are never posted in without permission from the maker?

Sorry, HB. :D Sometimes...well, I'm sure you understand! :D :D :D (Oh chief of Duffers...)

Hey you guys I just noticed that under my name it's written "Friend of Narnia" instead of "Senior Member". Did you guys make a change on certain users or does it have to do with how many posts you have?

When a thread is archived, do the posts that had been posted in that thread (excluding the Duffer threads) become invalid?

I believe that the posts in that area become valid, even if the posts were made in the Duffer section. That is why there has been a jump in many member's post count recently. We are working on a solution to give a more accurate picture of what your post count is.

Q: Do you ever delete threads that are never posted in without permission from the maker?

I have never done this, though you will have to ask the other mods. I don't bother to delete them because it takes too much time away from modding. Anyways, they aren't taking up much space on the server, so keep making those new threads!

The only reason I've ever had for flat-out deleting a thread was gross inappropriateness or violation of our principles (e.g. pornography). Invariably it is accompanied by banning or deleting the user who started the thread. The more typical course is to lock the thread, perhaps editing some content (e.g. deleting an inappropriate link), and warning the user.
