Sonnets Here, In-House

Give it time. I just learned within the past few hours that my Dad has been hospitalized with some infection. I thank in advance all who will pray for him.

"A cardboard box, a toothbrush and a bowl":
Such are the clues we get from one so shy,
I don't see how she even plays the role
Of being deep in romance with some guy.

But other than romantic-type affairs,
Tiara, as we know her, has the heart
And will, to joke, to hug, and offer prayers,
When someone's comfort zone is cracked apart.

We have a witness who can firmly state
These facts; her name is Maggie; she affirms
That she herself has seen Tiara paint,
And seen her weep for other folks' concerns.

This poet has not seen Tiara's face,
But I'm sure Maggie's been in her embrace.

This will make Tia very happy. I like it. That was really nice of you Joseph!

Sir Joesph,

That was a very very very sweet poem, and it made me smile. Thank you very much. I loved it. Also, a big thank you to Maggie. *hugs maggie*

Thank you *hugs*

This one is long overdue.

{ { For Ferny } }

A college girl--young woman, I should say--
Befriends, and prays for, throngs of younger girls.
A Tolkien fan for life, she'll also stray
To writing of The Wood Between The Worlds.

But writings open to the eyes of all
Are not what Fernshire Hobbit's presence means
To me; for me, she's one whom I can call
To raise concerns, and pray behind the scenes.

I won't identify for whom we two
Have interceded, and made loving plans;
But "loving" was the format through and through,
As we entrusted friends to Jesus' hands.

Now, Ferny, it's yourself whom I commend
To Jesus, Who will be your campus friend.

A technique note: In the process of writing this, I wanted to write lines rhyming "deeds" with "needs;" but I felt sure that I had used that rhyme in one of the earlier sonnets on this thread. Avoid excessive self-repetition...unless you're Homer, in which case you're allowed to refer to "winged words" and "the wine-dark sea" as often as you like.

For Celebrion Seregon

We had imaginary casting call
For our "Les Miserables;" I was Valjean,
Despite my doom of never being tall;
Whereas Celebrion, called Seregon,

Was perfect for the part of Eponine,
That poignant beauty, fit to sing duet
With my own leading lady, poor Fantine
(Portrayed by also-lovely Juliet).

Add comedy to beauty: she announced
She'd also be Madame Thenardier.
With screeching tones in "Master of the House,"
Celebrion gave color to our play.

Would that our dream production had been staged;
But our loss is the gain of her 4-H.

I love it! You are quite talented! Thanks so much!

A lovely tribute to Ms Seregon. CF -- I especially liked this part:

Would that our dream production had been staged;
But our loss is the gain of her 4-H.
