Visiting with my mother who has Netflix, I got to see the "Borgia" miniseries, which refutes Renaissance-era urban myths to show that Lucrezia Borgia was actually a decent person and _never_ committed murder. Sadly, she seems to have been almost the _only_ decent person in 16th-century Italy. The "Borgia" series could be described as "sword and sordidness."

We also watched something much less raunchy, because it originated with broadcast television: "Reign," the youth-youth-youth-obsessed retelling of the history of Mary Queen of Scots. None other than our dear Anna Popplewell was in it, as one of Queen Mary's ladies-in-waiting.

We left "The Tudors" for another time.
