217. Out of the seven people who possesed the Ring (or were possesed by it) only two gave it up willingly.

219. If you ever somehow get 3 wishes and one of them is to wish the Fellowship of the Ring or the Hobbits out of LOTR make sure to do it AFTER they destroyed the Ring. Because (to my knowledge) Mt. Doom doesn't exist in this world.
 
221. Even good writers can pull off the "tall, dark, handsome, and mysterious hero" thing...sometimes.
222. Hairy feet won't help you keep warm in a blizzard. (Sometimes little teenage brothers enamored of their newly hairified state need reminded of this fact.)

Samwise and Bilbo. However, it might well be argued that the latter did not give it up willingly, only after being 'leant on' by Gandalf.
