HSM CON, that's funny.

When I heard that the script for VDT borrows elements from the upcoming books, plot elements, I began to fear that it would be the last of the Narnia films this go-round. What plot elements could they borrow from SC that would work here an still leave something left to make an SC movie?

And frankly, if VDT is as bad an adaptation of the book as PC was, then I don't think we really lose if they stop making the films. I would rather they didn't make any more of them than treat them as sloppily as they did PC.

(BTW, I am not a PC film hater! I liked the film very much and found it very exciting and entertainng. I just do not think it was an actual adaptation of the book.)

I don`t think anyone knows exactly what Ben was on about or whether he was responding to older versions of the screenplay, which we do know added bits of SC to the story.
I`m reserving judgement on it until I see the finished movie, there is still over a year to go and a lot of editing and reworking of the raw footage will happen before the final version emerges.

Yah, he did not say what had been borrowed from the other books, but there's so much action in VDT, I am going to be very disappointed if they ignore what's there and bring in stuff from the other books ... it will mess up VDT and ruin the chances of the others being made into films.

I am reminded of a made-for-TV movie about Noah's Ark, made something like twelve years ago; it was so contemptuous of the source material, that it depicted Lot as a _contemporary_ of Noah! A fantasy like Narnia is at least equally vulnerable to "improvements."
