Is there anyone who likes the movies better than the books they were based on, or is it only me?
I greatly enjoy watching the characters that I have only read about come alive on-screen, I think that's why I usually like movies better than the books they were based on...besides the fact that I love watching movies in general. By the way, if this thread doesn't belong here, please place it where it should be - and if there already is one like it, feel free to delete this. ![]() Last edited by Fantasma; 11-03-2009 at 10:05 PM. |

Book characters DO come alive, leastways to me.
Well I like PARTS of some movies better than books, but nobody is going to like EVERY movie better than the book, there are always exceptions though I guess. I like the part in Narnia LWW in the river scene. I wish that Lewis had put that in the book. ![]() ![]()

Don't know if I'd apply that to all movies-based-on-books, but I do for the Narnia movies.

And now that I think about it, I have heard of some movies-based-on-books that have turned out horribly...but I haven't seen those. :P So I'm basically meaning CoN.

I like the movies better. Sorry, but I find that the movies are more exciting than the books. It's not that I don't like the books, I still LOVE them greatly, but I just think that the movies have more and better action than the books.

I like being able to see the action
It just seems more realistic than reading it. |

That sort of misses the point. The benefit of seeing action should not have to come at the cost of "seeing" the characters and the storyline ruined. If I made a Batman movie in which Batman was the villain, sure, you would see whatever action was happening, but it would be all wrong, because Batman is supposed to be the good guy.
