  • Hey I love your banner. I noticed on your Statistics that you like LOTR, Piano, and movie soundtracks, have you tried playing any of the LOTR music?
oh wow you've been reading quite a bit! I'm a big history fan myself, but as for books, I prefer historical fiction. me, a friend, and my American Literature teacher(who is like a second mom to me) have started an unofficial book club and we just finished reading two very similar books, Tuesdays with Morrie (by Mitch Albom) and The Last Lecture (by Randy Pausch) and they were quite interesting books. I don't know if you have heard of or read these books, but basically they are life lessons learned and recorded into bestselling books. They were alright in my opinion, but the main focus on both the books was your actions and deeds were what gave you eternal reward, whatever that eternal reward was. I don't believe that actions earn our salvation, and so that bugged me quite a bit. They were good books, though. They really stretched my mind and gave me much to think about, which I appreciated.
yeah they have really stretched my mind, and the cool thing is that every time I re-read them, I always get something different out of them. I have a huge stack of "to be read" books, and I often read more than one book at a time =] So have you read any other good books lately?
... and Lewis's other books are quite to the point as well. but even though the Narnia series was directed for kids, I enjoy reading them still because he put so much more deeper meaning into each book. have you read the Space Trilogy by Lewis? those are long books for C.S. Lewis, and a whole lot slower read than the CoN. but they are good books, a lot of double meanings...
well, I've made it through the book trilogy once, and that's enough for me, Tolkien is such a profound writer, he just crams so much detail and information in each page, it's a lot to process. I've also read Unfinished Stories by him (arranged by Christopher Tolkien) and since each of the tales in the book are shorter, they're an easier read.

yeah, well, I still read the Chronicles of Narnia over and over!!! I absolutely love them! this past summer I also read a lot of his philosophy books, like Mere Christianity (my favorite) the Screwtape Letters, the Great Divorce, the Four Loves, and some others, and they were quite enjoyable. Have you read any of his other books?
lol well I've liked Narnia for as long as I can remember. My dad always read the CoN to me before bedtime when I was younger =] so Narnia does hold a special place in my heart.

but I also really like the Lord of the Rings, even though the books (and movies) are really long!!! lol
