  • I hope your summer is going well. Praying for your protection and guidance and blessing in all your goings out and comings in.
You're serving our country means a great deal to me, so I'm always happy to return the favor with my prayers:D
Congratulations on joining the army, and thank you for serving our country. I'll definitely be keeping you i my prayers while you're on duty:D
Seems like it has been for a long time, unfortunitly. I really, really miss the good old days...
Oh? Well, that's okay. I am still very sceptical of paying thousands of dollars so that you can spend years trying to pay it off? haha Well, life is rather stressful right now. Husband and I are hopefully gonna get something figured out tomorrow... that is way past deadline... Gah, just so stressful. haha The "adult life" can be a scary place...
Have you ever visited "Marketplace of Technique"? It's a permanent subsection of the Writing Club. Though unused for some time, it IS a resource for writers.
I am not a football fanatic, but I'm not _sorrowful_ that my hometown team should win! (-:
haha i got so scared when i saw your profile pic! had to re-read your name to make sure it was you :D here's your no. 1 fact about me: i shock easily :p
I think things will pick up when The Silver Chair has begins picking up momentum. Whether it does or not, my semi-retirement is more a matter of serving as National Commissioner in Trail Life USA. I get calls in the bathtub...literally. I've had to warn the family of times when I am "out of the house" whether I am or I'm not. That's what being in charge of 1.5 million boys will do to a bloke.
    Narnian Warrior,
Please try to avoid double posting. If you want to add to a post it is preferable for you to click the <edit> button and expand your comments. That way it is easier to overview the flow of the thread and it takes up less space (less avvies, banners, etc). The one exception to this rule would be if more than a week has passed since your last post, then you could post again in that same thread. Your recent double posts will be combined. Thank you.
The good thing about Dancing Lawn is normally if a thread starts getting heated a mod and/or other members will step in to gently correct or redirect behavior. Most of the time, reminders of polite behavior are really all it takes to get most members back on their best behavior. I think most of us here want this to remain a respectful place, so people accept any warnings they get and tend to modify their behavior.

Yeah, I think you chose good topics to spark dicussion. People are familiar with things like Harry Potter and everyone probably has got an opinion on the series.

Facebook has some nice things, but some of the people you have to deal with on it are crazy. When I see some of the things my "friends" (more like casual acquintances) post there, I'm like, "EEK. Don't feel the same way about that at all." So Dancing Lawn is a nice haven for me online since people normally are kind, respectful, and have strong values.
I'm glad you're starting new threads here, because I think that can generate some discussion and stuff.

Yeah, one thing I love about this site is that there are a lot of Christians. We can support one another in our faith and everything, which is awesome:D

I haven't really followed the Hunger Games morality thread mainly because it is so long, but I'm sorry to hear that it is getting heated. I don't like when discussions and debates rise to the level of arguments. It creates tension between members and stuff. That's why my rule of thumb with forums is to back away from a thread if I start to feel really upset about something. I'll just make a post saying that I am getting too emotional to continue a rational discussion and I'll be ducking out of the thread. Getting people angry is not worth it even if I "win" my argument.
Yeah, it's a pity, because everyone I have met on here is great. It's just getting more than a couple of people on a a time that is a bit of a problem. Of course, I'm sort of guilty of abandoning the site for awhile myself, because of crazy personal life, but now life has settled down a bit and hopefully I can contribute more regularly.
Yeah, I plan to continue practicing my flute and piano after band. I don't think I'll ever quit playing and practicing. :)
