  • I hope your summer is going well. There is a new contest --Live Like a Narnian-- which I think you would rock.
Do you remember "The First Love of Alipang Havens"? Not only did I write a sequel to this on the same thread, but I took my satirical roleplay character The Grey Eagle and made him a serious superhero outside of Dancing Lawn. Grey Eagle now lives in the 22nd century, and is up against a Soviet-style tyranny which rules Earth AND Earth's moon. If you are on Facebook, look for a project page called "Journey of the Grey Eagle." Also, look on Amazon.com for my NON-fiction book, "Preaching the Protein: A Collection of Sugar-Free Christian Meditations." Don't blame me for the high selling price, the publisher decided that.
    yeah..i get that.
i'm sitting in my dorm room surrounded by stuff to study for druing finals and all i want is food.
Indeed, it seems inevitable that we eventually face our greatest fears - life and sanity. I'm dealing with life at the moment, and hoping not to acquire sanity for a while yet. How has it been living on the opposite side of the country? Is it really different? Or mostly similar? Big city? Small town?

I love learning for learning's sake, and I wish I had the time and money to do so. When I first got my catalog, I was so excited at all the classes my college offered! I really wanted to take them all. (Okay, maybe except the business courses.) Then I realized I only have four years of college, so I'll just have to settle for the most interesting and (though I detest this word) most practical. But if only I could take an Eng-lit class, or that Philosophy of Law course, or Japanese, or Byzantium history! Or if only I could at least spend my spare time reading the great works of ages past. But of course, in pursuit of education, I must sacrifice my spare time and my pursuit of education. *sigh*

Sorry for the rant... :p But how has your education been? Enjoyable? Busy? Busy but enjoyable?

Are you living on campus, commuting, or doing it online?
I assume you're enjoying your education. :) I know I would! It was actually something of a surprise to learn that you're doing liberal arts, because I always expected computer science or some other math-and-sciene-y thing.
But liberal arts involves history, and philosophy, and literature, and all that good stuff which require a lot of reading.... I don't quite see how that translates to an easy degree, though I know it does, generally.

I've got several friends majoring in engineering, and the only way to survive it is to really, really like it. If you eventually do do that, I hope you like it. ANd if you don't mind me asking, why wait till after college? It would be wonderful to have a liberal arts degree and learn all that wonderful stuff, but doesn't it also take a lot of time and money?
It continually surprises me when people need defend a liberal arts education. I love liberal arts! But it seems that the world doesn't. *sigh*

Any ideas on what you'll do after college? And what particular courses are you taking?
Right... what's your time now? (just so I know the difference from now on, and can catch your midnight wanderings.)
