  • In the next chapter, I plan to return to Alipang, and show things happening with the new newspaper.
Your latest insightful comment on "Alipang" made me think of "The Pilgrim's Regress," which is one of C.S. Lewis' least-read books because it's harder to understand than most of them, yet which does contain valuable illustrations among its metaphorical episodes. One chapter has to do with ultra-liberal churches pretending that their trendy fads are nourishing them spiritually, while actually remaining in need of the nourishment of traditional Christianity.

I am still pondering how far to go in showing that the Enclave exiles represent the preservation of old and valuable things. I might go so far as to depict the Diversity States losing its whole infrastructure, whereupon the exiles are the only ones in the nation with skills to keep some of the other people alive.
I'm due to start a new chapter. Do you prefer that I cut back to Alipang and Kim, or stay outside the Enclave to introduce more new characters?
Don't expect instant starry eyes between Bill and Lorraine; due to past guilt, Lorraine will need assurance that she has a RIGHT to love again.
Oh, you're going to love this: the insurance claims adjuster I met with today used to LIVE IN WYOMING, and he gave me some information I needed!
I'm still researching the state of Wyoming, to make my story realistic. If I weren't so broke, I would just DRIVE UP to Wyoming and look around.
You can't expect the population of the Western Enclave to consist entirely of the former population of Smoky Lake, especially with so many Smoky Lake characters already accounted for otherwise.
I was waiting for you to have seen Chapter One. Plenty of action to come when I start Chapter Two; Alipang will have some new characters with him.
May God give you a prompt recovery. Meanwhile, I have that much more time to plan chapters ahead.
If you have seen references to my having needed my sewer line replaced, there is HOPE now that my home insurance will cover it.
You probably never started reading "Emmett and Queenie." Don't bother, unless you have a LOT of time available for reading.
Do continue praying. She and I are at my parents' house right now, the first time they've met her--not that I exactly need their permission at age 58.
