Happy Birthday, Lady of Lorien. I hope you have a wonderful birthday today. Chat sometime!

Waldo keeps peeking into your loan situation, now that you mentioned how no one would want to look into it. You really should watch your tongue around him--grrr! Wal! do! *grabs Waldo by the back of his sweater and pulls him out of the bank*

Waldo! Stop that! Out of my room! Out! I'm reading about classroom management, not smilie management. Go to the boys' side of campus. *shoos Waldo out the door*

Wha-who? (Not you and Waldo--the little blue psychopath....)

    Stupid iPad....

And they may be run-of-the-mill, but they still require a visit to--

Well, that part hasn't been quite figured out yet...which probably accounts for all the insanity in Dufferland. Dozens of untreated concussion cases walking around....

Well--I would say it does do something, seeing how it just gave Sushi a concussion.

Sushi's needs are not physical. He actually stands more in need of personal affirmation than anything else. So tell Dr. Cran the thermometer won't help.

For some reason, Sushi's operas seem to get poor critical reviews. It's very hard on his nerves.

Ah. Well...the title was supposed to be "The Slow Slow Death of Father Christmas" until Sushi got farther along in the opera and named it "Giovanni e Maria morir ma da Natale festa in cui they died when the tree caught fire and burned the ceiling above the chandelier which collapsed and killed everyone beneath it which was actually everyone at the party." I told him it was a run-on title, but Sushi said there was no such thing.

Have a blessed Christmas (with lots of music and less patent law). Sushi sends his highest regards, and an unfinished opera, which I have trashed. There was too much in it about people dying at Christmas parties and...well.

I was always more interested in writing than teaching, which is half my problem. But, I can teach if all else fails. The practical reasons were why I went for the degree anyway (and I did get at least some liberal arts, thanks to history and the three philosophy courses I manipulated into my schedule). My college has a lower level of accreditation now, though, and I'll have to find a way to get around that if I want to actually teach. I've thought about substitute teaching to help pay for grad school, but I'm not sure yet.

Oh--and I like the choir. The good thing about a classical education is that, since it's so book based, you can move toward one on your own, no matter what you're teachers do. The languages are the main hard part about doing it on your own. My Latin is quite pathetic.

Thanks to Dernhelm for the lovely avatar!

My Ode to the Duffer Objects...Yes, I know it's ghastly poetry...

    Down in the valley,
    Valley so low
    Hang your head over,
    Hear the wind blow.
    Hear the wind blow, love,
    Hear the wind blow;
    Hang your head over,
    Hear the wind blow.
