Strange as it may seem, you'll someday look back on these days of scant resources and drafty apartments as some of your happiest times. The scrapes and friction that inevitably come with learning to live together will be forgotten (as they should be), and the simplicity of these days will be with you always. You have God and each other, and that's enough to fill your lives with love.
We're adjusting our lives now. Our youngest went off this autumn to college, leaving us true empty-nesters, and that's taking some adjusting. But most of the kids and all the grandchildren live relatively near, so we see a lot of them.
