One word is awfully short. I think I'll say what Protofan says..." Hi." ( er, or Hello). One word is just not enough. Even two words is a little better LOL.

Ditto, IM. I guess I'm missing the hypothetical here. I talk to the Lord quite often, and not only isn't one word enough for me, He makes it pretty clear in the Bible that one word isn't ebnough for Him. He wants to hear us pour out our hearts every day.

This hypothetical is framed as if it were some great opportunity. In reality, it is a restriction of the severest sort, and one that would never be imposed.

A hypothetical that would make more sense would be something like: "OK, imagine a herd of rabid hippos charged through your living room in the middle of a surprise birthday party for your second cousin. If cake got on your blouse, what domestic recipe would you use to get it out?"

If I could say one word to God... hmmm... probably "Sorry" because I would say sorry for my sins. either "sorry" or "thanks"

Oh, of course not. I'm just not sure what the point of the exercise is...

PK has summed it all up for me. There's too much to be said to my Lord, and a single word just won't cut it. But for me, the beautiful part is that even when I'm at a loss for words in speaking to my Lord, He knows and understands, and His Holy Spirit is making intercession for me. But I owe my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ everything, and I am so grateful for His unconditional love. Even when I am faithless, He is faithful still. My thanks to Him have no end.

Seriously, I would say "Father" for in that one word I would acknowledge both his authority over me and my desire to have a familial relation with him.

Uhhhhhhhhhh.........
probably "awesome". You know, like that song "Our God is an Awesome God"? Or maybe I'd say "Goo!" (the word I say when something big happens). :D There are just too many... maybe "arms", you know in the song by Kutless "Arms of Love".
What a big question.

"Thanks" sums it up so well. :) I can say a thousand words and mean a thousand different things, but "thanks" is the word I would most like to utter. Actually, I say "thanks" to God every day... "thanks" for letting me be here, for teaching me love, for being human, for becoming my dreams, for every hope that smiles down on me like a rainbow sparkles over my horizon. :)

The question is actually not "what would you say to God?". The question is "what are you telling God right now?".

I would say..."Why did you make me like this?"

One word is not enough to sum up any feeling I have for my God. If I say "thanks", what am I thanking Him for? If I say "sorry", what am I sorry for? If I say "love", I could mean any love, and there are so many different types. No, I wouldn't say anything. Instead, I would fall at His feet, and hope to hear Him say, "well done, good and faithful servant".

Well I can't just say one word! And just saying 'HI' to our Lord and Savior would be quite disrespectful.

I would devise a syllable that expressed all of the emotions pent up within me upon being in the Lord's presence. I'm sure I wouldn't even be able, or even need to form words if faced with Him.

But I understand that the rule for this thread is to say a word in English, or some translation of a language humans share. In all honesty, being bound to the earth as a human and not knowing of the sins or decisions I may commit in the future, I would say "Help."
