I believe the BBC Narnia only went as far as the Silver Chair. Why didn't they go all the way through to the Last Battle?

They probably didn't move on because of the limitations of special effects.

There are two key factors that spring to my mind that prevented the BBC from making the rest of the stories:-
Location.
Budget.
The next book in the series after 'The Silver Chair' would have been 'The Horse and his Boy' now the main problems with that would have been location and budget as in the budget to shoot the film in a middle eastern country. 'The Magician's Nephew' would have been primarily budget as in making an authentic 19th century London and the scene of the creation of Narnia would have no doubt have been quite expensive. 'The Last Battle' just sounds immensely expensive with the destruction of Narnia and the after life not to mention the sheer scale of it all, and I still doubt that the BBC can pull it off today.
