Dissertation on Narnia - Help!!!

Hi Everyone

I'm currently in my third year of my English and Drama degree and as part of a unit on television in Drama I am doing a case study on the BBC production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

The most essential piece of information I need at the moment is what date was the first episode aired and what time was it on? I know it started in 1988 on BBC1 and was shown on Sunday afternoons/evenings.

Also, I somehow need to find out what was on the other channels at the same time.

Does anyone know where I might find this information?

Also, does anybody know of any books that have been written about the BBC series?

I would be really grateful if you could post any info you have here or alternatively email me on gd3998@bristol.ac.uk if you know anything.

It's ok, information found. In case you were wondering the first episode was shown on November 13th 1988, which was a Sunday at 6pm. I found it at:

I would still be interested to hear of any books you may have found that have been written on the tv series though.

hey Gina, welcome to the site! You might do well by asking the BBC themselves..they must have a huge archive section, and Ias I remember the CoN was hugely popular, it was something i never missed, and almost everyone I know of my age remembers it!
