Need help...desperate for years..

I'm hoping coming to the experts:cool: (much more than me) will give me the answer I have been looking for. Late 70s - early 80s LWW version on TV. It starts out "Live" THEN turns to animation when they step through the wardrobe, OR vice versa (animation then live, can't remember.)
Which movie was this? :confused:Was it the animated 1979 Vestron one, the BBC 1980's live version, or an entirely different one? Always loved it, going crazy trying to figure it out.

Well, the BBC one mixed animation and live action after they came throught the wardrobe. They used real actors- the childre, actors in costume- beavers and wolves, animatronic things - Aslan, and cartoon type effects - general animals. it all looks a bit primative now, but at the time it ruled!

Amazon has the BBC one for sure, whenever I visit the site they put it on the splash page for me ... I've never seen it ...

If anyone out there knows of this I would also like to know. I just watched the animated 1979 version and the BBC live action one. The animated one seems to be the one I remember when I was growing up but, I also thought that it had live actors before they entered the wardrobe and once again when they returned. If this never happenned I find it quite strange that two people seem to remember the same thing. Well any help would be great. Thanks.
