ok this is an RP that we started on another RP and it is interesting so I wanted to see where it would go on here. I am not jadis so if anyone wants to step in for her that would be great! Oh and it would also be really nice if you posted a character profile here (http://www.narniafans.com/forum/showthread.php?p=326096#post326096)

Charn, the greatest city of the world, the most beautiful creation ever to be beheld by the eye of anyone, was drunk with power, debauchery, and sin. The building that reached to touch the sky and the brightly colored tapestries and clothes could not hide the reality of it all. The streets were stained with the blood of the innocent, everything had been defiled, and nothing was pure or simple any longer in Charn.

The temples of the many gods of Charn rose far and beyond the rest of the structures of the great city. Today there was a to be a humane sacrifice to the gods, many had gathered there to see who would be chosen as the next victim of this practice. The queen stood at the forefront of the temple behind the alter waiting to address the people.

“ We have come to please the Gods that have given Charn it’s power and Might.” With that she looked over at some guards who immediately hurried off into the temples dungeon.

((Ok so this girl is who I am...just thought I would clerify))

The guards hurried out and came back half carrying half dragging a young girl. She was a beautiful thing with long flowing blond hair that now looked back from being in the temple holdings for quite some time. She wore a clean blue dress that fluttered about. The girl however was not about to conform to ritual, being lead silently to the sacrifice of the gods of Charn. She struggled as the monks of the god of Safti (the god of life and death) chanted and the gongs grew louder. The girl looked up and saw the one thing she despised more than the gods, Jadis. Fire filled the girls eyes and she fought even harder but to no avail for the guards were strong and well trained. No. I will not give her the pleasure of seeing me go easily. Tenyasda repeated that oath over and over in her head as she was dragged closer to the altar of the bloodthirsty god. Tenyasda was made to kneel on the ground in front of the tall majestic woman and bow her head. The guards did not dare let her go even though her hands were bound she was a fighter and everyone could see that.
The monks began calling out the specific chants and the crowd responded as the did ever time this sickening ritual took place. Jadis bent over and whispered something in the girls ear and then addressed the crowd. Suddenly from nowhere it seemed the monks began dropping dead one by one with poisons darts sticking out of their backs. Tenyasda looked up with hopeful eyes and she was right it was her brother. As the guards were distracted she was able to shove one off balance and kicked the other directly under his chin knocking him unconscious. All the people ducked as arrows flew from the young mans bow as he entered the temple. Jadis raised her knife to strike the young girl who had fallen a few feet in front but it was knocked out of her hand by one of his well-aimed arrows. The girl scrambled to her feat and the two of them vanished. Jadis looked up with murderous eyes as the people slowly rose to their feet.

Hmm...there is ~JadisTheWhiteWitch~! I'm not sure when she'll be on-line (she is usually on late), but we can ask her. :D

A strong, muscle-bound man dressed in armor wrought of fine silver, lined with gold, and draped with scarlet and purple velvet - the royal colors of the Queen's House - kept a vigilant eye as a traitor sent a volley, killing some of the guards. He stood no more than a few inches away from Jadis. An arrow had successfully knocked the knife out of his Queen's hand, and a last arrow, carefully aimed, was unstrung and flew directly towards Jadis just as the young girl and the traitor sped away.

"Your Majesty!" No time to think. He knew what he had to do...it wasn't going to be pleasant. He stretched out his arm quickly and the arrow struck him in the wrist, at an open point in his armor. His eyes closed and he grimaced at the horrifying pain, but he knew his Queen would not forget his actions. This was why he had been appointed and chosen...this was his sole purpose in being. Early on she had recognized his talents when he was a youth, a lad of sixteen years. Now, aged twenty-four, and extremely well trained, he had become one of the elite infantry of Charn.

The people who had stood remained absolutely silent. One small whisper would cost one of them their life...

The bells of the city alarm rang out behind them as they ran madly up the steep hill that led out of the City. The once graceful blue dress that adorned the young girl was now torn and dirty. Finally they reached the cliffy aria that acted as a natural barrier for Charn and a hide away for ruffians and vagabonds.
“In! get in there!” The young man pushed the girl into a cave and fallowed closely. They were crawling on their hands and knees until the sealing of the crawl space jetted up and it became a great tavern but still they pressed on. It became very dark so they slowed their pace and felt their way along the winding halls.
“The path splits which way?” The panting of the two young people was soft as to muffle any trace that could lead Jadas’ guards to them.
“To the left.” And so it went for hours until the girl could press on no further so they sat down to rest. The Girls face was smeared with dirt and blood and she was a sight not wished to be had. She sat down on the ground next to the young man and suddenly embraced him and began to cry.
“Oh, Tren, I thought that I would have died back there.” She sobbed. “ I was trying not to show it but it was so frightening, I…I…I hate her!” Trensten simply embraced his sister and stoked her head.
“I know, but you are safe now. Do not worry, she will never prevail against us. That I swear!”

He stood at ease but felt extremely tense...he knew Jadis was extremely angry. And when she was angry, something was going to happen; something always did on such occasions. A slothful servant disobeying his orders, someone resisting arrest, another making a public protest. It always ended horribly for those other people. But how unfortunate for them! They chose not to heed the words of Charn's Empress, and as a result they paid the price for their lack of conformity. Their punishments are well deserved, he thought to himself.

He waited patiently for what was to happen next, and what orders his Queen would give.

"You there, with me NOW!" he commanded. Eight guards immediately snapped to attention and Terthas led them in the direction of the fugitives. Long months of preparation had gifted Terthas with a keen sense of direction, of smell, of sight. Though he had some difficulty at first, he soon learned where the fugitives had traveled, and what direction they had taken. He was already on the trail...

Tren knew these hills like the back of his hands. He knew every nook and cranny every crevice and cave even better than the night watch. He could sense that he was being trailed; he knew that Jadis would not let up easily. Ducking under jagged rocks that jetted out of the side of the cliff like knives and running as fast as their legs would carry them they soon disappeared. Tren was a good hunter...he knew what they would be looking for to find him and he knew what to do so that they would lose the sent and direction of where they were headed. He knew how to loose them and he was determined.

The faint light flickered and cast long shadows on the cave walls. Tenyasda, rose from the puddle of murky water where she was attempting to wash her face and arms. She glanced over at her brother who sat gazing into the fire as if it would give him the many answers that he searched for.
“Tren, try to eat something.” The meal that she offered was a humble one of bread cheese and a bit of dried meat. He turned it away and did not spare a look at her. “ What is it that afflicts you so? I can’t bear that you are so silent…please talk to me. Say anything you like just talk.” She knelt down beside him and took his hand in hers. She felt his pain of what she knew nothing but the pain was unmistakable and she wished she could relive him of it some how.
“ Tenya, it is all my fault, do you not see? All of this has befallen us because of me." Still he refused to look up at her, to meat her longing gaze.
“No, it is not your fault, Tren. Don’t be foolish. If it were not for you I would have died alone when mother and father were slain by those vagabonds. If it were not for you I would be dead on an alter sacrifices to some god that does not even exists and if he does he does not deserve to be a god. Tren you are the reason I am alive so you have not yourself to blame but that reached woman.”
“It is because of me that Jadas has tried to kill the only thing that I have left in the world.” He looked at her for just a moment but she could see tears brimming in his eyes. “ I refused her and now…”
“You loved another. You had every right to refuse her and if she is too weak to handle the reality that there are others out there better than her that actually deserve her then to hell with her. She thinks far to highly of herself and you did the proper thing and cannot blame yourself for our misfortune. Now please eat.”

*Jadis was sitting in her throne taping away at one of the armrests with frustration and anger and impationess with her fingers wondering when her loyal body guard would return with her victims*

The clattering of boots down the hall caught Jadis's attention. Two guards appeared, dragging a young, slender woman. She didn't oppose their hold. Instead, she seemed to almost be amused by her surroundings, if such a face could express amusement. The guards stopped before their queen and the maiden looked up at the queen expectantly.

"Your highness, this girl was caught with the rebels. She was trying to free another slave."

Terthas and the eight guards that followed him came to a point where the cave suddenly split into three separate directions. He took in a quick sigh, closed his eyes for a few moments as he thought and pondered. When he reopened his eyes, something very slight caught his attention at once; there, at the entrance to the left, almost invisible to the naked eye, was a small piece of what could have been a rag or cloth. He knelt and picked it up in his hands, examined it, smelled it, and knew it belonged to the quarry he sought. He could never forget the frightened look of the young girl as she struggled to get free from her captors, and yet he remembered her fierce determination and bravery in spite of the fact that the very world was turned against her.

"You two, take the right! And you two, go down the center. Anything you find bring back to the surface...our Queen will have to deal with all those who seek refuge in these deserted parts. As for the rest," he said tersely, "we move NOW!" Once again he began the hunt, and he knew it wouldn't be long before he would capture the young girl, bring her back to where she belonged.

"When you find her," said the Queen very matter-of-factly, "do not delay in bringing her to me. Her family has been nothing but rebellious and disobedient to the Empire. It is amazing that they have survived as long as they have, but she is all that remains of their kind. I bid you, go."

Even then she had seemed extremely troubled about something else, as if this girl were the last thing she cared to worry about. But his was not to read thoughts, but to carry out orders. Those who refused to obey orders were taken to the temples. Personally he could care less about these gods the people worshipped - just as much as he knew his Queen had no real interest in them. They were just a way of bringing the people into submission, into obedience to the Crown. Though he did wonder what the girl's crime was that she should be brought to the temple for sacrifice...

No more time for thinking. It was growing darker, and he knew the chase wouldn't last too much longer until the fugitives reached the great precipice. They would be trapped like rats in a corner, with nowhere else to go but to the prison that awaited them.

“Now Tren you must-“ Tren suddenly raised his hand to silence his sister and waited…listened. Footsteps they were unmistakable, heavy soldier boots not like what ordinary folk wore. They had been found. Tren motioned for Tenya to put out the fire with the some water out of the pool in the corner of the great cave room. The light went out with the fire and pitch darkness set in. Tren took Tenay by the hand and they began to feel their way out towards the other side of the cave. Both of them groping along they heard voices drawing closer and closer.
“Down here the remainders of a fire.” One yelled.
“The coals are still warm.” Another said. Swards were drawn and the two fugitives could here the boots clanging against the rock echoing throughout the cave and pas them. Tenya could now feel the cool night are kiss her face as they drew near to the opening in the cave. Freedom was just around the corner. Suddenly a drop off, the precipice, they seemed to laugh at the siblings. Its mouth open wide and the river serving as its tongue it laughed at them out loud so all could hear. The rushing water seemed to say, you have been defeated and now you shall go no farther. Tenya heard footsteps behind her, voices of guards. Tren slowly drew his sward to defend them but she knew it was no use not against highly trained soldiers.
“Tren there is only one way out of this.” Tren looked at his sister questioning her with his eyes. She did not say anything but simply looked at the river that rushed below them.
“Oh no. there is no way you could even think of that.”
“ What else are we going to do? Jadis wants us both alive so they will not kill us here.” Tren shook his head and the voices were just seconds away. “ Tren please Jump with me. I don’t want us to be parted.” Tren closed his eyes. He couldn’t bear the thought of jumping to almost certain death. The chances of surviving the precipice drop was slim no almost non-existent.
“ Don’t move. In the name of the Queen set your weapon down.” One of the guards called out as they approached the two. Tenya leaned close towards Tren and kissed his cheek.
“ Thank you for every thing you have done. We shall never be apart.” Before Tren knew what his sister was doing she soared over the edge arms spread out wide her dress looking like feathers flapping in the wind.
“NO!” Tren turned his back to the soldiers to see his sister disappear in the rapids below the cliff. “NO!”

Terthas wasted no time. At seeing the young woman jump, however, it had rather taken him back a few steps; it was something he never would have expected to see in his life: a young lady, beautiful, fair and brave, sacrificing her own life rather than risk having to face justice. With the hilt of his sword he knocked Tren out, and the guards immediately seized him. They began their long journey back to the Palace, but Terthas remained a few moments behind, looking down. He could see no trace of the girl....

Coming to slight consciousness Tren opened his eyes to a searing headache. What had happened? he thought then everything came back. Tenya, the temple, the chase, the cave, the Precipice, oh Tenya. Closing his eyes for a moment before acting he pictured her smile and then...he suddnely jerked his arm out of the hold of the soldier and struck him to the grownd with a nice blow to the face. The other Dropped Tren in order to reach his sword but Tren kicked it out of his grasp. The viceroy was near but not. AS soon as the sward hit the rocky path that they were on about four others could be heard taking theirs out. Tren turned to run but there in front of him he saw an old rival. Someone he had hated for years, the other man knew nothing about Tren but Tren knew everything about him and hate filled is heart as anger could be seen rising in his face.

"Look who it is, soldiers," said Terthas with a laugh, and all the guards laughed with him. "It's the pathetic rebel who decided he would make a clean get away with our Queen's prisoner..." Terthas punched Tren down to the ground; Tren could feel blood fill his mouth. "So much for love!"

"Bind his hands with our 'special' cord," Terthas said. "Make sure he is bound nice and tight...our Queen will want to see his scars!" With this he kicked Tren hard with one of his steel-toed boots. He couldn't help but pity the poor creature, but at the same time he found that he truly loathed him. Why didn't he just stop his madness and join everyone else in obeying the Queen? Her rules and her laws were to be minded and kept. There would be no chaos if everyone followed as they should.

Holding the cord, he dragged the miserable man along. If Tren grew tired and couldn't walk, he would stumble, and when he stumbled, Terthas or one of the other guards would drag him along until he finally had the strength and resolve to stand and walk again. Needless to say, it was a miserable trip for the poor lad, and his captors were not at all thrilled with the merry chase he had given them.

All the while, however, he wondered what had happened to the young woman who had so rashly given herself up to an unknown fate. Had she truly died? This thought gnawed at him, and he sought to suppress it as best as he could, to little avail.

“ Why Jadis, why do you do this to me…I did nothing but love on and you turned my life inside out.” Tren waited but the Queen just walked in a circle around him. “WHY!” this time he yelled and it echoed throughout the throne room.

" You have anoly eerr thought of yourself Jadis and the fact that I loved someone besids you just killed oyu didn't it. You could't have something that you wanted so you through a fit."

*her eyes went dark and she glared at Tren angerly**she reach for the cord that bonded him and yanked him up by it and lifted him completely off the floor*"Slience fool!!"*she tossed the man down on the floor hard I should kill you now!!"

“ If you did you would have complete revenge. Why don’t you just stile me dead right here?” Everyone could see that he was just taunting her. Showing that if she did kill him it would be a sine of weakness not strength.

Terthas would have taken this moment to strike the man across the face, but he remained silent and alert. He knew the power of his Queen, and it was not in magic alone that she possessed such power and strength. A few words uttered and the man would have crumbled away like dust before her. However, she must still have some purpose for him, he thought with some dismay. Be rid of him now!

With that Terthas socked Tren so hard in the stomach that the man doubled over and began to cough horribly. He grabbed him by the ear as two guards came to help him, one grabbing the cord, the other grabbing Tren from the back, and they swiftly escorted him to the dungeons far below the Palace.

Tren still coughing winced at the sting he still felt in his face and his hand were bleeding from the cord. He didn't know what to do now..His family ws disipated he wwas the oly one and...Tenya...dearest tenya was gone. the only hting in the world that he had, what else was there to live for now?

The clatter of a woman’s footsteps could be heard echoing down the hall and into the throne room. Jadis was still infuriated by what had just happened she was pacing back and forth in front of her throne.
“ Now isn’t that an odd sight…Jadis mad. I don’t think I have ever seen it before.” Jadis whirled around to see the person addressing her in such a way. The woman standing before her was just as tall as herself and bore a remarkable resemblance to the queen. Her skin was a dark tan color and her hair as black as night hanging down past her waist. Her eyes were the most bewitching color of green yet they almost looked blue from a distance. She also wore a crown much smaller than Jadas’ but still representing royalty and in such she was adorned with the most royal colors of blue and green that could be made. The clatter of a woman’s footsteps could be heard echoing down the hall and into the throne room. Jadis was still infuriated by what had just happened she was pacing back and forth in front of her throne.
“ Now isn’t that an odd sight…Jadis mad. I don’t think I have ever seen it before.” Jadis whirled around to see the person addressing her in such a way. The woman standing before her was just as tall as herself and bore a remarkable resemblance to the queen. Her skin was a dark tan color and her hair as black as night hanging down past her waist. Her eyes were the most bewitching color of green yet they almost looked blue from a distance. She also wore a crown much smaller than Jadas’ but still representing royalty and in such she was adorned with the most royal colors of blue and green that could be made. She was Jadas’ sister…Zethra. “ So…what is making you fume this time, Jadis?”

" I am not afraid of you Jadis," she paused and smiled a bit, " But I do not wish to aggravate you any more. I simply will have to come and see him another day when you are not stretched so thin." With that she smiled at her sister and walked off.

Tren was baffled. What a creature she was, so dedicated to her cause yet so dead in everything else.

“ Tren you should knwo me better than that. What a pitiful sight it is to see you bound like that but you were always a rebel at heart, weren’t you?” He didn’t answer but the gave that had locked between them remained unbroken. “ Your spirit has not broken even though you killed your whole family.”

Rairus snuck quickly and stealthily into the temple itself. Of course, there were gaurds, but when the beauty of the moon was in the air and lulled them to sleep, he could sneek quietly by. He hardly made noise; he was as quiet as a mouse. He heard Jadis's screams that sounded of thunder, and his quiet sister, deadly as a venemous snake. Yet he passed quietly by, into the cooridoor of the royal temple he so despied.

The cell was as black as could be imagined for the moon gave no light through the little window. Tren could here the two sisters yelling and hissing at each other the struggle of power was still as strong as it had been so many years ago. Nether of the prisoners had spoken since the princess hand left and Tren wondered to himself if his mysterious companion was still there. She was a strange one the likes of which Tren had not often encountered but there was something about her that…Tren shook his head she could have been a dream.

It made me realize that the will of Jadis and the gods mean nothing, for the only thing our queen prizes is power - to know that others are at her mercy. True power, the ability to be fair and judge with wisdom and compassion, is gone from these lands. We cannot conquer her in this bloody state. The only thing that remains in our power is to save her victims."

A sad smile crossed Trens face as her words sunk deep into hi heart. " Yes...I agree...however the one that I wanted to save most is now gone and I have little reason to go save the revenge of Jadis. I know that must sound weak to you...I simply don't know if I have the strength enough to fight her in the way you purpose." Tren looked up at Isoulde and for the first time ever saw a bit of compassion. Before she had almost emotionless cold but now there was something.

Isoulde inhaled deeply and stood up straight, "But for now, neither of us can be of much use while we are lying here. These bonds might fall under simple magic. It is quite dark. I know little of those things such as spells and magic.” Tren smiled again, “ This is when Zethra’s favor could have been favorable.” Seeing that is attempt at humor did not in anyway strike his companion her retreated back to being serious. With that Tren changed his position to a kneeling one he bent clear over and began mumbling , “Es front cu hord tricost fir fir ho esritkastinta grendwequist zhucastet.” The chains binding the two began to loosen. “ Dribastint yavesti cow embida sootari…” suddenly they closed and tightend once more inflicting a good deal of pain on bothof them. “ AH!” Tren cringed as his wrists began to bleed once more. “ AS I said I know little and it knows that. The evil in this place is stronger than the good and that is the only magic that I know.”

The rope immediately splintered and fell apart. She did the same to the rope bind her hands and her companion and the rope similarly splintered as if cut by a swift knife. "That is one problem solved." She stood up, stretched luxuriously and crept toward the cell door. "Now, for the next one."

Reacting quickly Treb spun around tripping the Queen knocking her to her feet. He then sprung up holding her arms down and strataling her to keep her down.

When Jadis stopped arguing and started targeting on her own gaurds (which was to her relaxing) Rairus had begun to move. Yet when Jadis sensed magic, he quickly saw that she was angry.He was aware of the gaurd, but quickly, ghe found Jadis' magic sleeping potion. He guessed that Tren and Isoulde would be either killed or sacrificed when they were sleeping. Either way, it'd fallen on the ground, but made of diamond, it hardly made a sound.

Rairus was now but a shadow in the palace. He stole towards the Sacrifice Room, overhearing what 'Queen Jadis' was to do with Tren and Isoulde. Still with the sleeping potion, he had an idea. What if he used it on Jadis! The gaurds, at Jadis's orders, were alert and not at all sleepy. Swiping out his posioned dagger, he assasinated both gaurds, dragged their bodies behind the altar and hiding behind a stone urn, prepared to use his, or rather Jadis' potion. He waited and held back a wry smile.

He smirked at Jadis and when her anger had risen, her focus had gone, and he slipped past her and poured the magic potion all over the gaurd, who fell to the ground, snoring.

You are thinking of using the Deplorable Word; I can see it in your eyes. Chaos and madness are written all over you Jadis. You are a very good queen, since you match this pandemonium and death, perfectly. But know that Tren and Isoulde will not die because of this insanity. In a swift motion, Isoulde drew the sword of a sleeping guard. It was difficult to manage with her hands bound but soon the ropes split free as now magic had yet been cast upon them to make them stay. Soon, Tren was by her side as well after she cut through his ropes. She stood by her defendent, "Let us bypass her quickly. She cannot be defeated by the blade."

Rairus and Isoulde now were running out of the sacrifice room, but they did not exactly know where Tren was. Isoulde knew how to weild a sword quite well actually. That was one less worry he had to think about. Jadis was erupting with fury, but Isoulde and Rairus still ran. They saw her throne, empty, and it was very strange. "Left" Isoulde said shortly and soon they heard more gaurds chasing them, and to tap it all off, Jadis' immature howling. They turned right this time, for they saw that at least five gaurds were gaurding the entrance. Now they could see Jadis, so angry that she barely even noticed that Tren wasn't with them. "Where is that perfect rebel? Well, FIND HIM! AND CATCH THOSE FIENDS!" She roared.

Terthas had watched the whole scene very carefully. He followed after his Queen as she ran out of the temple to destroy Tren and Isoulde, following with a handful of guards, but had kept a safe distance, not wishing to interfere in his Queen's affairs, knowing that a few words from her would destroy every single person standing nearby. Yet his hand ever rested on the hilt of his sword, ready for anything that might possibly happen.

Terthas noticed that something was amiss when the number of clattering feet behind him made by the guards grew fewer and fewer. The he herd it, an arrow whizzed past his face and caught the guard to his left in the neck knocking him dead. Then another fell, the arrows hitting the men exactly where it was fatale between the cracks of their armor. I was dark and the arrows seemed to be coming out of nowhere and the assailant could not be seen.

Terthas ducked quickly, narrowly missing a swipe from Rairus, but returned a swift swing and managed to stab Rairus in the shoulder. Some rebels began to file into the hallway, but so did some of the palace guard. Terthas engaged some of the rebels while Jadis continued to fight against Rairus; needless to say it was not at all a very pretty scene...

"You didn't think it woul dbe that simple to get rid of me, did you?" the voice he had only heard once on the precapist thanking her brother for the protection he had given her. There she stood sward drawn ready to fight. He was no longer waering the blue dress but sensible leather pants and a leather vest that came down to her knees. she had on a dark brown shirt and her hair was pulled back into a well done braid.

He had to overcome the searing pain so that he could stab he in her own shoulder. He'd swiped out another dagger and began hacking her with the daggers, eventually dropping them, kicking her to the side and drawing a sword. With a long jerk and unimaginable pain, he managed to get the arrow out and had barely enough time to run to the dais before Jadis was on him. "Isoulde, come here, now!" The pain burned like fire. "This is for your insolence and treachery, and for placing an arrow in MY THRONE! You rebelious demon!" Jadis roared. He had to overcome the searing pain so that he could stab he in her own shoulder. He'd swiped out another dagger and began hacking her with the daggers, eventually dropping them, kicking her to the side and drawing a sword. With a long jerk and unimaginable pain, he managed to get the arrow out and had barely enough time to run to the dais before Jadis was on him. "Isoulde, come here, now!" He yelled as Jadis jumped on him with her sword.

Suddenly something knocked Jadis off Raius and as she clambered to her feet she was face to face with Tren Anger burned in his eyes, as she had never seen before. If he were a dragon fire would have consumed her then and there but no such thing took place he simply watched and waited for her to strike so he could have the feeling of sweet revenge.

Terthas who was now running behind Jadis heard a voice behind him that made him stop dead in his tracks.
"You didn't think it woul dbe that simple to get rid of me, did you?" the voice he had only heard once on the precapist thanking her brother for the protection he had given her. There she stood sward drawn ready to fight. He was no longer waering the blue dress but sensible leather pants and a leather vest that came down to her knees. she had on a dark brown shirt and her hair was pulled back into a well done braid.

Somehow I knew you had not met death that day there on the cliff. Yet as long as you rebel, I cannot hold such feelings towards you. If you wish to fight me, then so be it."

He drew out a heavy, gold-hilted sword, its blade extending several feet, and he made a formal salute.

Isoulde smiled a twisted smile. She was quite good in magic, more than adept with the sword, but entirely lethal with the bow. Slowly and surely, she pulled the string on the arrow back to her ear. The queen was in sight and she released the arrow.

Tenya’s deep blue eyes flashed with hate beyond description. “ How can I ally myself with the one who ruined everything and killed my family?” She held her broad sword out in front of her in a defensive position waiting for him to strike first.

Tren rolled away from her as her sward slashed through his arm. He sprang momentarily to his feat and charged but something distracted him. He whirled around to see Tenya in a stand off with that reached guard. The suddenly he felt a pain beyond anything he had felt before that sent a shock all through his body.

A broken arrow was sticking out of his side. “ Tren! By the gods TREN! Please…help me!” Tenya was desperate and confused tears filling her eyes she knew her bother was slipping away.

Tenya now holding Tren's head in her lap waited to see if the herbs would do any good. Tears welled up in her eyes as her brothers face became pale. "Tren please, If I can survive the precepts you can pull through."
He looked up warily at her cupping her face in his hand. " I would die for you any day."
"No don't you see I need you here now!" She felt herself yelling as her words echoed through the chambers of the great hall. Tren managed a feeble smile,
" I...I thank," He began to cough and blood spilled out, " I thank the gods for the many days that have had with you."
" The gods have done nothing for us! Tren...please don't leave me now."
" Tenyasda of Calging, I was happy to be your brother and protector. I love you."
" NO!!!!" Trens hand slowly fell away from her face as his eyes rolled back into his head. " NO! Tren, please don't leave me!" the tears now gushed forward as she cradled his head in her arms. She closed his eyes and stared at his face. " Tren, I love you too." the tears fell softly to caress his cheeks and if you didn't know better it would almost seem that he himself were crying. Leaning over she kissed his forehead for the last time. “ I love you dearest brother. She slowly rested his head on the marble floor ad stood up. Now hate filled her tearing eyes and she looked in the direction of where Jadis had gone. “ You will die for this witch!”

Isoulde remained silent as the scene before her seemed too beautiful and sacred and she had no right to intrude upon the two siblings' final goodbye. She saw in the young girl the same devastation and hate that she herself experienced many years ago when everything she knew and loved was taken away from her. She held out her hand against Tenya who now seemed to want to rush to the queen. Softly, her voice broken with tears, she said, "Do not let your emotions master you. You will never defeat her that way. She'll destroy you and your brother's death would have been in vain."

Tenya yelled in pain, anger and hate, the anguish in her voice bouncing off all the walls and every pillar in the place. The tears ran freely now the body of her brother laying before her on the cold marble the dark red pool a drastic contrast to the white floor. She felt so useless. He had saved her every time and now he was dead because of her! She gritted her teeth and let out another yell of despair. Her mind swirled with memories of him, how he had cared for her ever since she was a child. She turned to Isould her dusty face streaked with tear marks.
“Help me do what is needed to avenge him.” She whispered quietly trying to overcome her emotion that raged within her.

Terthas, meanwhile, had returned and had eliminated several of Jadis' sister's followers. The rebels were now engaging both Jadis' army and Zethra's army, and there was complete pandemonium in Charn. He did not stand far away from his Queen, who was now engaged in earnest battle with Rairus.

Efrinta raised her hands and a mighty wind tore though the hall in which the fighting took place. Only a few stood against the abrupt wave of air and all fell silent. Magic hung deep and heavy about them all as Efrinta stepped over the body of a dead guard. Jadis glared at her sister as she approached. None dared lift a finger though just moments before full battle had raged…something was different, something had changed…something deadly. He shielded her from the volley of arrows and got struck in his leg. He whinced in pain and bit his lip, which began to bleed, but pressed on, guarding his Queen until they had safely exited the palace. There, a myriad of Jadis' soldiers awaited them.

Terthas began to shout orders at the other guards, who immediately set to work, "cleansing" the palace. He watched carefully as he saw three figures making their own hasty escape. He frowned, but did not say anything. Meanwhile, physicians came to tend to the injured Queen.

The figure slumped to the ground off the girls shoulder. She bandaged up her wounds and gave her water to revive her just enough to keep her alive. Where had they gone? Tenya was lost without her companions but she lifted the woman once more over her shoulder and pressed on.

ok the woman barely alive is Zethra and Tenya is carrying her. Jadis and Terthas have escaped and I have no idea where Rarius is.
