I was thinking about this and wondering who could do Eustace justice? I know that they are going to film the VODT right along with PC so Eustace is going to be cast soon. who should he be?

Who ever is Eustace he has to be a strong actor. Eustace is an important in three books which makes his role bigger than Peter and Susan. And Eustace is a complicated character. After hating the guy you have to learn to change your feelings for him just like Edmund. Skandar did a great job but Eustace is a more developed character. :)

I was thinking of someone like that. Edmund and Eustace have common ground (although Eustace is initially insufferable, not really as bad as Edmund).

It really depends on what Lucy looks like when that film is being made. The book says he's weak in comparision to Lucy.

But then he's stronger in the next two books. :confused: So, he'd have to be puny in his first appearance, but more built up in in his last two appearances.

Edmund is my favorite as well. I just got done reading Voyage of the Dawn Treader. And I still love the little chat Edmund had with Eustace after Aslan freed Eustace from being a Dragon.

Perhaps Edmund saw a little of himself in Eustace at the moment?

But I agree w/ Grateful Surrender, they need to cast someone around Georgie's age. From what I last read a few months ago on NarniaWeb, they were down to 12 boys, and I think they were all around her age. I just hope whoever it is is going to be extremely obnoxious and hilarious as Eustace.

In the book, they mention that Eustace and Jill are the youngest of the Narnian friends, so whoever they cast for these roles would have be younger then Lucy at time of production.

I wonder if, even though Jill won't make an appearance until Silver Chair, will they cast her now, just to find someone who has good chemistry with whoever plays Eustace?

Or will they do that later, when Silver Chair's turn rolls around?

Oh, Alex Etel? Oddly, he's turning 14 this year...he was born the year before Georgie! I looked it up on imdb. :eek: I was thinking he might be a good one for Eustace, though, a long time ago.

Yep, Thomas Sangster is 18! Older than I am! It's quite surprising...but he's actually growing into his age now, so he's starting to look a bit older. He's a GREAT actor, though. I'd actually love to see him in a Narnia film, but I dunno who he could play (maybe Tirian...like I said, perhaps by the time they do LB he will actually look 20-something). The funny thing is, Skandar Keynes almost got his part in Nanny McPhee as the oldest brother, Simon, and Pippa Hall was so relieved when Skandie didn't, b/c they really wanted him for Edmund!

Anyhoo, another good actor is Chris O'Neil (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2198494/), who played Noah Wilder in The Last Mimzy--and although he's American, he's a really talented actor and I think he has the potential to be like Johnny Depp--as in being able to take on a number of different roles w/ different demands. Noah is nothing like Eustace, but I think Chris could play him. Only thing is, he, like Alex Etel, is a year older than Georgie.


Zach Mills (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1517875/), who was in Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium and will be Stirling in Kit Kittredge: An American Girl this summer, might be good too. He's actually Georgie's age...a few months younger, really, and he looks like a MINI SKANDAR! He's American, but I think he could pull it off :) But, seriously, he is THE mini Skandar. Doesn't look exactly like him, but enough to convince people that he's related to both Skandie and Georgie.
