In Prince Caspain where it mentions a load of Fauns that came to The Dancing Lawn one of them is Dumnus--it rhymes with Tumnus! Is it one of Tumnus' relations? Does any one care? Am I bored so I posted this?

I don't think you could draw a relation - I think Lewis was drawing on his knowledge of classical languages to come up with names that sounded like they were from the areas that the creatures were from. Fauns were creatures of Greek & Roman mythology, and I don't know if the names were "Greek-ish" or "Latin-ish", but they were something like that. As such, it doesn't surprise me that there would be some similar sounding ones.

Someone actually replied to this with a sensible answer? I'm impressed.

Truthfully, I've wondered about that since I was a kid anyway. I kept hoping for someone like Tumnus, but he never appeared.

I only read that part yesterday... All the faun's names C.S. Lewis listed ended in -us, so I doubt it was that they were related.
