I'd like to an older British actor play him. Depending on how serious they make him of course. It he's kind of goofy when he's not fighting I would say John Cleese or Eric Idle maybe. If he's more serious and stuff then maybe Sean Connery? I donno, I kind of ran out of ideas after Cleese and Idle.

SEAN CONNERY?!?!?!?! Wouldn't he be too old? I thought Reepicheep would be like 20 ish...even the voice. Just my opinion.

Good question. I imagine he will be computer generated like the beavers. What did you think of Mr and Mrs Beaver? I thought they did a good job with that, and if Reep is similar, I think it will be wonderful.

In LWW they showed Reepicheep during either the stone table scene or big battle scene (can't remember which)....much to my surprise (If I'm remembering correctly) he was exactly the same size as an ordinary mouse if not a bit bigger. Maybe they'll enlarge him in the next film...because I don't think many people caught him in LWW, so no one would realize the change.

We must be careful not to let our imaginations create the next prince caspian movie. If so we may find ourselves dissapointed. I for one plan on letting the movie create his character rather than expecting a character only to be dissapointed when I see it on the screen. To enjoy a movie you need to let the movie tell the story and not look for what you want to hear or see.
It seems everybody is already talking about reepicheep as if he was already created.

EDIT: Welcome back Monkeh
He has Parkinsons which he's had for about 15 years now and has carried on acting so don't see why he would quit now. As for bein dead I'm pretty sure he is still alive and kickin.
I don't think it would be that odd a choice, I mean I was surprised by some of the more famous names casted for LWW although they were predominately British.

I had a funny thought of John Cleese doing the voice. I can just imagine how funny he would be in that role. Who knows, but I doubt he would be considered.

It outta be a very high-pitched voice. The books describe Reepicheep as having a voice like that. It outta be a high-pitched man. Maybe a girl should play Reepicheep?

I am not really bothered at the moment to find a person to speak as Reepicheep, Pippa Hall won't start casting Caspian until September so I think they might start casting then!

i could do his voice... that'd be so fun! *squeaky voice* "SIRE!!! Shall we go into battle?"
happilyeverrandom
05-27-2006, 02:30 PM
Or they can have some person talk in a normal voice and then do some special effects with it and make it into a squeaker voice, ya know what I mean? Like one time I was messing around with my friend's computer and I was just talking in my oh so normal voice but then the computer changed it into "Chipmunk" mode and I sounded hilarious. One time I chose "Helium" but then I was talking in really high voice so it made my voice even HIGHER. :D

I think that James Blunt has the perfect voice for Reepicheep, it's obviously masculine, issues an air of control and he's already militant.

Wasn't Reepicheep already casted in "LWW", I think he was if I remember correctly, or I might be wrong, I don't know why I think that. I know he's in the book version, so maybe I'm confusing the two. But If he was indeed already in LWW, I believe they'll keep the same voice.

We probably won't find out who is doing any of the voice overs untill nearer to 2008, because with LWW, they didn't decide on voice overs untill after all the filming was done.

I think it should be higher in pitch. Like that of a boy.

Id say a boy because he would have a high voice like a mouse and reepicheep is male so a girl would be tooo high rigth?

I think Reep should be voiced by a man with a British accent...he seems to be a very dignified mouse with a lot of personality. I thought at first maybe someone young with a faster voice, but then...I changed my mind.

If he was played by a boy, he would sound young and immature, but if he was done by a man, he would sound like he had a background, and also like he had some experience.
Lol.

I think he should sound older, as in the sense that he has experience in battle, and all the jazz, but I still think he should sound kinda squeaky. After all, he is a mouse :) Therefore I think it should be a man who can make his voice sound kinda squeaky.

Ugh, definitely a man. I'm sorry, but having a girl or woman do the voice for a MALE mouse is just too weird. Have a man that can tweak his voice so that it will sound squeaky, but manly.

I definitely can't picture Reep as a sissy or girly. He has to be dignified. It's weird because in the VOTDT when Eustace picked him up and swung him by the tail, he was described as 'not much heavier than a large cat'. I thought Reep was the size of a regular mouse, not a huge mouse.
PrinceOfTheWest
06-27-2006, 04:18 PM
All the smaller animals - mice, rabbits, hedgehogs, and the like - are all a bit bigger than their earthly counterparts. That comment is made somewhere, and is explicitly described when Aslan grants the gift of speech to the chosen animals in Magician's Nephew. I gathered from the illustrations and descriptions that Reep would be about the size of a large (not huge) cat, though in the form of a mouse. Talking rabbits and moles would be about knee-high. The larger talking animals, such as elephants, were a bit smaller.
LifeMaiden
06-27-2006, 04:31 PM
Yes but at the same time when he was moving the chess pieces while playing with Lucy in the VOTDT she said he was very small, and that didn't sound like he was much bigger than a regular mouse in that scene. Unfortunately I don't have a memory as good as yours, POTW, so I do not remember that explicit statement about animals size in the MN.

I don't or can't see a kid playing him, boy or girl. Reepicheep is a very distinguished, proud and brave mouse, whose voice would not be done justice with a young voice.I picture someone older. and British voicing him. Reepicheep was just very dignified.
