It has been awhile since I read the book, but I do remember, he was a crazy Dark Jedi clone. He also made a clone of Luke, referred to as Luuke and the clone was supposed to attack Lukewhen Luke refused to go to the Dark Side. Mara killed both Luuke and Joruus.

Depending on what time period you are talking about, it is famous for A: Beign a laval planet, B: Having exceptionally beautiful versions of the Northern Lights, C: Making very high quality cast-lava products or D: Being the place where Anakin Skywalker completed his turn to the DArk Side by turning on his Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Ok, to clear up confusion, the answer to my question was Cay Qel-Droma. Cay and Ulic were trained together as Jedi, but then Ulic went to the Dark Side, through a long and confusing series of events. Cay and Ulic later met in battle, and Ulic killed Cay. A Jedi master was present, though at the other side of the battlefeild, and when she found what Ulic had done, she used her power to blind him to the force forever. He then fled to Rhen Var, where he froze and lay in a coma for years, before the daughter of the Jedi master who stripped him of his powers came, hoping to learn the ways of a Jedi. Ulic, being blind to the force, offered only minor skills, but he did teacch her to use a lightsaber. Ulic, through the daughterly love given him by his apprecntice, turned completely back to light side. However, a bad winter (in fact, the beginning of an ice age) set in on Rhen Var, and they were snowed it. They carved caves of ice to live in with their lightsabers, and mined a huge stone. With this stone they carved a statue of Arca Jeth, Ulic's old master. When his apprentice's mother (who he had once loved) returned for her daughter the next summer, he died at the shock of pure goodness.
