I would like to ask for prayer for my dad, who is unemployed (so really for my family, because we need money), and for me, that I can get enough scholarship money to go to college this year.

I don't know how to explain this request, but I did post a thread at 3dmaxx that pretty much tells how I feel. i'm sure someone will read that and get confused, so just ask if so, i'll try to explain it.

Yea, I need some prayers. My Grandpa has been really sick. He hasn't been responding to any anti-biotics. His excuse every time hes sick is, "I'm Polish, I can't die", but we all know as mch as it would be good to be true, its not. my grandma has NEVER been worried for him, and this time she is, so it scares me even more.
I was talking to him the other day and I mentioned seeing The Passion and he said "Yea, I want to see it but I need to get energy, so I'll wait a few weeks. I don't want to be in a big crowd"-- and that bugs me because my Grandpa doesnt need energy. he's always so happy and full of life, so him for have to wait a few weeks is bad. And crowds?? no, he's always been fine.
So everyone, just please pray for him 'cause I love him lots and I've never really thought of life without him, to be he's invincible.

Skinner, I will pray that whatever God wants to happen in this situation is the outcome that is according to His will.
My prayer request is for my dad, who is going in for surgery on the 10th, and will be off work for about a month.

well you already know i'm praying for ya, Tim.
i have two requests. the first is for my granddad, who had a stroke a couple weeks ago. he's ok, but not really fine. like moving around is hard for him and everything just goes a lot slower and harder than it used to. so he's kinda unhappy with himself. and also my grandma is pretty scared that he might have a stroke again and that he might not get better. she's pretty sick herself nad can't do much on her own anymore. so it'd be really tough on her if my granddad wouldn't be there anymore. and i would be really upset to lose him, too.
the second request is for myself. i got sick recently and my doctor wasn't really sure what it is, she said some virus infection of my lungs. i have pretty severe pain in my chest and by now also in my back up the left shoulder and i'd bet a whole month's salary that something's not right with my heart. i'm really not feeling great and it scares me because right now i am no good for anything. i can hardly handle walking down a couple stairs to my mailbox and i got outa breath blowdrying my hair this morning and sitting at my computer right now is exhausting, too. really not funny.
i have another doctor's appointment tomorrow morning and i hope she'll be a bit more specific as to what she can find out i have and i hope this gets better soon enough.

I have two prayers requests the first being that I'm sick right now with a bad flu and I just need to feel better so I can get back to school.
The second is for my Grandma, she went into the hospital about a month ago for triple bypass surgery, her recovery isn't going so well. She's still in a lot of pain and she can't keep anything down... I talked to her last week and she flat out said that she wished she didn't have the surgery, and I told her that if she didn't she could've died and she said she wished that she just wouldn't died then. So I pray that she heals soon and that she'll stop feeling so miserable and regain her will to live.

That's really great about your dad getting a job! I love the power of prayer!
But on a less happy note, I'm still sick, it's been three weeks and I finally went to the doctor, he gave me all types of medicine but right now the sinus preassure is so strong I feel like the right side of my face is going to explode. If you guys could just keep me in your prayers I'd appreciate it.

Praying for your mom, May Lafay. My mom is fighting breast cancer, too. SO i know what your mother is going through.
I got bad news last night. My Grandma is in hospital since sunday night. She's had a really bad flu and now she's got severe pneumonia. I'm worried for her, as she also has diabetes and hasn't been very healthy all along. And recently my granddad just had this stroke, and he's home alone now not feeling good himself. This is really not looking good and i'm starting to get worried about losing both of them too soon. They're both not even 70 yet!

Im not feeling too great today. Not phyiscally but emotionaly. I'm having one of my "outbreaks" (April, you know what I'm talking about) It all started with a simple joke. Like, at school, everyone would joke about how I walked, talked, dressed, and even moved like a older person would. I'm 16 and people are calling me old and boring. I just laugh that off and ignore it most of the time. But it really starts to get to me after awhile. After your "friends" tell you that your old and boring, and I really start to wonder if I really am. :(

I'll be praying for all of you, your family's, and prayer requests. I've got one to make too.
About a month ago my Mom had a mole taken off her arm and during the biopsy, they found out it was melanoma cancer. She had more surgery to make a bigger hole in her arm, hoping they'd got it all out. She still didn't feel right about it so our mission (IMB) said she should go to the States for a diagnosis. She left about 2 1/2 weeks ago. We should know by the end of the month if the cancer has spread to her bloodstream (there was a cancer infected lymph node).
If the cancer hasn't spread, then she'll stay for a couple more weeks just to make sure. And then she'd come back here and we could continue with life. But if the cancer did spread into her bloodstream...
We would have to pack up our house here and go to the States to join her. It won't be terribly bad because (she's in Houston, TX) there is a mission house avialiable in Galveston, TX. So we wouldn't be homeless. And the church that owns the mission house is looking for a resident missionary, so my dad wouldn't have to search for a job. That is all taken care of. But it would be hardest on me and my siblings. We were born here and have been raised here so this is really the only home we've known and it would heartbreaking to leave our friends and extended family without knowing if we'd ever see them again.
So please pray for me and my siblings, for my parents, for our friends here (my dad announced the news to a group meeting last week and all our friends, grown men too, started crying), and that God's will be done. If we do go back, I know that God means it to be. Thanks for all your prayers and I'll be praying for all of you.

Hey- I have a prayer request for a member in my church.
Albert(a middle-aged Indian) is in deep health troubles.
His liver is giving out on him (because of some medicine prescribed by a
doctor for TB). Just pray for God's will in all of this. Thanks.

AMEN Aragorn!! AMEN! That is so true...sometimes I forget that we have a very special priviledge.....the ability to praise God everyday, to meet with fellow Christians openly, to pray to God without fear, and to just rest in His arms. My life has been so hectic lately that I've really been missing out on the important things. Thanks for reminding me!
BTW, there are some suspicious spots on my mom's lungs, and if it's cancer then it's only a matter of time before she dies. And, my dad has started to have kidney problems just today. He was supposed to go to a half week meeting on Thursday, but it looks like he won't be able to make it. I really think that Satan is trying to do something against us, so please pray!!

This request is for a teacher of mine at school. He's a Christian, and on Sunday his wife had a miscarriage. Apparently, they weren't aware that she was even pregnant; they have a son who's 18 months (I think), and this is a very hard time for them. My mom's had two miscarriages, and I know how hard it can be on a family. Please keep them in your prayers!

I'll be praying for all of you, but I really need urgent prayer right now. My dad is going to have surgery IN THE STATES on May 10th. So that means that this Thursday, we're all going to the States for a couple of months. We're leaving everything here, and only bringing 2 week's of clothes and a few very important things. This is going to be really VERY hard on all of us. My dad started crying, he doesn't want to leave, none of us do. Please, please, please, pray for us!
Warrior-Poet51088

I'll definitely pray about that! By the way, where will you be staying in the States? Your dad's surgery should be fine-- May tenth is the best day in the year to do anything on (not to be flippant)...Guess why...

Wow, BTW, your dad needs surgery, too? I thought it was your mom, or maybe I'm just confused

Aragorn, we'll be staying in Ft. Worth. No, I don't know why May 10th is the best day. But I'll also request special prayer for my little brother Jonathan. He's turning 8 on May 11th and Mom, Dad, and my older brother David, won't be there for his birthday. He's going to be very dissapointed and more than a little angry.
Fae, yes, my mom had surgery too, for melanoma skin cancer. Now my dad has a tumor in his kidney. Sometimes I just want to wail and say, "Why God! Why!"
I cried for the first time today about everything. I must have cried for about an hour straight. We got all the clothes packed today and we'll start on other things tomorrow. Please keep praying for us!

I'm glad someone understands! Why did ya'll have to leave Brazil? We're also leaving our dogs. That's going to be hard too. :( My computer will be taken apart and packed probably tomorrow, so I'll post again when I'm in the States.

Ummm.... my parents were having marital problems... :(
We went to Florida for counseling. We lived there 2 years, then went back to Brazil. But because my parents had been honest about their problems, some really self-righteous people didn't want to support them anymore. So now we're back in the States again, but now it's because of financial problems!

For all of you who were praying for Albert, I just wanted to let you know that he passed away last Monday (May 3) It is really sad... Please continue to pray for his family and close friends, who are taking this very hard. His family now faces the danger of being deported, too, because only he had a green card... Albert was an amazing person who touched the lives of hundreds of people with the love of Christ. Our church was literally packed out for his memorial service. We don't understand why God allowed this to happen, but we know He has a plan. Thank you for your prayers...

Fae, I'm sorry about Albert. I'll be praying for his family. Thanks for the update.
As for me, my Dad's situation (kidney tumor) turned out to be more serious than we thought. But we're not sure how serious. There's going to be a treat for me and my siblings, we're going to Houston to visit my Mom for the weekend! I'm very excited! Then we'll leave my sister Hannah (14) with Mom so that Hannah can take care of Mom (as Mom still needs a lot of care). Then we'll come back and Dad will have his surgery. I get to take care of my two youngest siblings, Martha is 10 and Jonny just turned 8. Oh joy.....
Martha and Jonny quarral a lot so please pray that they will cooperate with eachother (and me) for two weeks. Jonny is partiucarly a lot of trouble, he has an attitude. I would like to request a LOT of prayer for him. :) My older brother David will finish the semester around May 25th, he'll come down here after school gets out.

Okay, I've now been in the States since May 8th. I am really ready to go home. :( My Dad had his kidney removed last Wednesday and he's recovering fine. Me, and Martha and Jonny have been staying with our Godparent's last week, and some other friends this week. At the end of this week we are going to Dallas to be with (we're in Ft. Worth right now) the rest of our family. Then we'll be complete. Mom is healing fine and, if everything is going well, I do believe we should be heading home in 2 months. I can't wait! BTW: Wylie/Allen, etc are about 30-45 minutes from Mesquite. If you want, I'll post my street address so you can find internet directions to see how long it would take from your particular place.
Fae: Do you know if Portugese is similar to Spanish, or closer to Castillian? Just wondering...

Wayward school, perhaps? Hmm... to behonest, if that's what she believes, why try to change it? I'm a Pagan, and I can understand how she'd feel - I've had so many Christians coming up to me, and trying to convert me from 'Devil-worship'. Shows what they know about Paganinsm. Devil-worship my foot. Maybe you should show a bit of intrest in what she believes - try to work exactly what it is she believes, and keep your mind oupen, rather than just trying to put it down. There's one thing that Christians say that really annoys me. I don't mind Christianity - some of my best freinds are Christians. What annnoys me is when they try to 'convert' everyone who isn't a Christian to Christianity, saying that 'Chrstianity is the one true faith'. Which, in my belief, is rubbish. I enjoy talking about religion with my Christian freinds, because they don't try to change my beliefs - but we swap ideas. For instance, I can talk about the different Gods etc to them, and they can talk to me about the Virgin Mary, etc. We swap ideas, and educate each other in our different religions. Why don't you try that? Just talk to her about her religion, and try to get a better understanding of it, instead of trying to change her beliefs.

Hey, Hawk, do you have AIM? It'd be very interesting to talk to you sometime about religion. :)
Here's a small prayer request - I'm homeschooled and I got a little behind in my homework. My mom wants us to work on our French during the summer and learn some music, so she really wants me to get my work finished. Pray that my brain doesn't explode and that I'll be able to do double work every day!

Hawkmoon, I agree with you that some of us Christians can be very pushy & uncaring about a person's faith. I do belive that Christianity is the only way to get to heaven, and also the only true religion. An interesting thing I noted in your post was how you said that Christianity is not the true religion, but you also said that you discuss with your Christian friends ideas of religion. Why would you do that if theirs is a false faith? If, as you claim, Christianity is not the truth, then why not simply try and convert them to your pagan beliefs? Also, I would love to hear more about how your pagan religion works, as I am kind of in the dark on that subject  !

I'm not that good at praying, but here's an idea for you, dawntreader: It can be pretty hard being an evolutionist in the Bible Belt. I should know, I am one. I'm used to some of my Christian friends beatin' on me about all this "Godless Evolution" nonsense and telling me I'll go to hell if I believe my Biology textbook. The best survival method I've found is to change the subject. If something one of my friends or I says strays into the waters of religion or politics, immediately we just say "Okay, nevermind, let's talk about video games" or something like that. Don't argue the issue to death, it only makes things worse. (By the way, once one has really studied evolution, it becomes clear that it is a miracle not dissimilar to the one described in Genesis, so the phrase "Godless Evolution" is an oxymoron. Just a little tidbit for ya. ;) )
(By the way, Hawkmoon, you are now one of my most favorite persons ever)

Both. They aren't mutually exclusive-- evolution is an enormous miracle resulting in the creation of mankind from inorganic particles (dust). Same story as Genesis, just a betterly explained "how." A lot of people tend to think that evolution is a cold, soulless, mathematical approach to how life began, but it's really a mind-bending, awe-striking miracle. I beleive evolution is the tool by which God created the great myriad of lifeforms we see today. Evolution doesn't rule Him out; it glorifies His intellect and patience.

Guys, I'm still very new here, but I would ask you if you can to pray for my parents and grandparents, since my Grandad is still on the waiting list for a hip replacement despite the agony he's in, and everyone else seems to be suffering from some form of depression. I hate seeing them like this.
Also, please pray for me, because I'm not sure whether it's me that's changing, or the world around me, but I seem to be getting very angry over pretty stupid things recently, and as I'm a total pacifist, I start feeling guilty and coming down on myself really hard. I'm also very nervous about some concerts I'm doing abroad with my school choir and orchestra, which will include my first major performance playing clarinet, so pleasepray that everything goes well with that.

Hey I'm back with more prayer requests...I've got some catching up to do with prayer requests, rest assured people, I'm praying for each and everyone of you! My prayer requests are as follows:
My Mom is under a LOT of stress for various reasons. She's getting ready to take interpheron treatment and she needs to be healthy and UNstressed. Like I said, for various reasons, some that I can't mention here. So I need desparate prayer for her! For peace, healing, and dealing with emotions.
My Dad is healing fine and the rest of us are doing well, but don't stop praying for us!!
Some of my family aren't Christians and this is an excellent oppourtunity for them to learn more about God. Please pray that they will listen to the voice of God in their hearts.
Thanks so much!

It was the last fall semester, early on, when we were having two-a-days at footabll, and I could hardly get homework done & still have time to sleep. I was really close to losing all hope. And then, one night, for whatever reason, I remembered that I hadnt updated my AIM buddy profile for a while, and when I went to check it, I found that quote by Sam that is on my sig. That really encouraged me! Becca, if you really need to, you should probly talk to somebody about this, maybe not me, but somebody you trust.

yea. i just got back from marriams (my sister-in-law's mother) with my cousins. i started to feel better cuz she has a ton of goats, chickens, 2 cats, and 4 dogs. it was fun. but then kris and joe (mainly kris) started to tease me about not being able to light fire works, which i didnt mind, but then im like, yea, ok, i suck, so leave me alone. but then she kept on laughing and telling more people and being like hey, isnt she an idiot? its weird, but i cant handle it when people continue to do stuff like that, cuz then i start, and eventually i end up huddled in the corner cut and crying. yea... i love seeing my cousins, but kris drive me crazy. i dont mind sharing things, but its the people who bug me. i just hate sharing people. i mean i dont mind (sorry, i have a split peronality, lol) but i hate it when they just take them over and everyone forgets im there. its been a problem every summer. like this summer when i babysat these 2 kids 3 times a week, she came down and then, of course, shes great with kids, i suck, so i felt even worse after that, cuz i felt like she stole them from me almost. and then theres this other thing... but robert, i swear, you cant tell anyone this, you have to let dan and kelsey tell people. not a soul, you understand? anyway, kelsey is pregnant, and so im like yay! im gunna be an aunt! but then when kris found out, she's like im gunna be over there everyday next summer and im gunna take care of it and sleep over and do everything. wrong. im the aunt. not her. she shouldnt being doing that. she has no right. i feel guilty and like crap. i shouldnt feel like she has no right. she does. but she doesnt.. im confused.. and tired. and hungry. and im gunna stop complaining now. sorry.

Okay, I'm going to ramble, so stay with me while I switch from one topic to the next with no warning...
I know exactly how you feel! I'm very protective of people I love and I REALLY struggle with jealousy! Even though I'm a missionaries kid, my life isn't perfect, I'm just like everyone else. I hate being sterotyped as a perfect child, I hate having to act perfect, and believe it or not, I hate being popular since I'm an 'oddity'. I mean, I'm not a nasty person, I just don't like being someone who I am not. That's one reason why I love being on NarniaFans because I feel like I can be who I am on here. I feel like I CAN share my feelings on here. My parent's don't pressure me to be perfect or anything, and I'm my usual self around my immediate family, I'm just different with other people. I don't think you're complaining Becca, I know how you feel, I've been in similar situations. And I know how you feel about Kris coming and taking your spot as an Aunt to Kelsey's baby. I've got two Godchildren (they're Filippinos, twin girls, cute as buttons, three years old) and other people love to play with them. I feel like they're taking away MY Godchildren without asking ME! I'm even protective of my older friends. Like I have one Filippina doctor friend who just turned 27. A guy started liking her (as fate would have it, he was my teacher) and I positivley HATED him! I never said anything (only my 14 yr. old sister Hannah knows how I feel about Chris, because she shares similar feelings), and he left eventually. I serious, if you want someone to talk to Autumn, let me give you my telephone # and we'll chat. You don't know me that well, and vice versa so we might have a neat conversation. :) Let me know, dearie...

Hey guys, I really need you to pray for me on this Friday on July the 9th at 3:00pm I'll finally be taking my A+ certification test. If I pass, i'll be a CCCT (CompTIA Certified Computer Technician) Please please please remember me on that day, just take a second and wish me luck because no matter how ready I may feel, I always end up failing tests because I can study for hours, and ace every practice test but when the time comes to actually take it, i choke. :( So, I'm kindof scared.

Sure I'll pray for you Skinner! I've never had to take tests like that, but I know how it feels to be scared. :) I'll write your prayer request on my calendar so I'll remember the date.

yea... i'll keep you in my prayers.
tonights ago i got pretty upset/depressed and went outside to calm myself down. then i layed in the grass (not a smart idea) and got totally bit up. im serious. i have at least 100 bites on me. its really itchy. i then like a week ago i got the bright idea to burn floss. let me tell you, it burns quickly. they should worn people. anyways it went up and then (since its like covered in wax) the wax/burned stuff fell on my leg and burned me. thats painful aswell. stupid floss.

oooh, ouch!! I've never been burned before (unless you count the time my brother banged my arm with a sizzling hot pan), especially not with wax! I'll be praying for you!

I'm sorry for what happen but I just can't help to ask. WHY WAS YOU BURNING FLOSS??? I tired to take an educated guess at why one would do such a thing, but nothing came to mind. I hope you feel better though. I was once bitten by ants along time ago. I was 2 and i put my hand on a freshly cut tree stump. My arm and eventualy my body was swallowed by ants.

I think A_S_P is referring to chigger (no, I'm not racist) bites. They're these little animals that live in the grass, and they burrow under your skin a little ways, I think. I was burned about a month ago (have I already shared this?!?!) on the lawnmower--there's a metal plate on the side, and I was reaching down to unpleg the spark plug before I cleaned out the mower, and I touched my wrist to the side of the engine with the metal plate covering. It looked pretty cool at first, cuz it looked like I had melted my skin...and then it started to hurt  . And now I've got this little wimpy scar on my wrist. The worst thing about it was that the burn was on the part of my wrist just about and inch away from where my palm starts, and it was right on top of the main blood vein, so I couldn't tear of the scabs without having a lot of bleeding. I'll shut up now.

yea, im not sure what they are, but they itch. so it could be fire ants, but they look kinda like chiggers. i dunno. and skinner, im not quite sure why i burned floss. i had a lighter in one hand, and then i saw some floss, and so i decided that it needed to be burned. except i ended up being burned. i dunno. but its kinda like the time me and phil (roberts bro) decided to burn tape (he was holding it). they asked why, but there is really no explaining things when your a pyro... kinda... yea... i'll shut up now

My results:
 Pearson VUE (the people that I took the test with) messed up my test. I took a test that I didn't pay for. So I'm pretty angry right now. I passed a test that I have no clue what it was. Well, in any case, I'm certified, just don't know what I'm certified in excatly. Something to do with OCR and image recovory. So, I'm going to try and get my money back or see if they'll fix their mistake and give me the right one.
Guys, thank you so much for your prayers. You guys are the best!

I've got a prayer request now...my mom has been a week on her interpheron treatment and she's getting sick from it. Please pray that she can keep up her strength. Also, it looks like we won't be heading back to the Philippines any time soon. *cries*
Dad might go back in August or September to pack up our house and ship our things here. That means that we lose our house and our dogs. I just want ya'll to know that I'm VERY attached to our dogs and even though we're gonna give them to a very good lady, I still don't want them to. So please pray that things will work out....and to the glory of God. Because of course, He is in charge of all this.
Oh, yes, and please pray for my emotional health...I've been very moody lately, crying a lot a night because I miss my home. I don't want to depress anyone else in my family, but I'm just very sad right now. Thanks for your prayers...

I really wish I had someone's shoulder to cry on...everyone is so busy around my house, yesterday I went out to the backyard and sat for an hour outside so it'd be quiet. :) I really miss our dogs. To make it worse, I'd taken a bunch of digital pictures of them before we left and put them on my brother's computer and erased them from the camera. Then my brother's computer crashed and the photos were lost. I did cry about that for an hour. *sigh* anyways...it's bedtime.

o... i know, i know, the last several posts have been mine, but heres one more. at the end of camp they have thise things that you can stand up and tell people something they learned or whatnot. anyways, i stood up and told them about how i've been struggling with depression and cutting myself and then i sat down. i got really nervous since i was just telling everyone in the youth group, plus saji,a dn mr. omas. i know saji and the rest wont tell my parents, but i dont know about mr. omas. i mean, i havent cut my self in a while, though i have been struggling with the thought of it. i mean, its been a couple months, and its just been really hard since becky died. now they all think im suicidal. i mean, sure i am at times, but i would never AcTualLy kill my self. but i wasnt able to tell them that, since i was really nervous. so yea...ah... im really afriad..

No, but I remember he was a jerk. He was supposed to be baysitting Philip and me, once when I was maybe 6 or so, we were in the 'old' education building in the choir room, and there was another girl, who was maybe 8, and he was really mean to her. That's about all I remember, though.

Actually, I don't think dulcimer festivals are really that common... this is the first one I'd ever heard of! :o
Anyway, in answer to your question, Becca, Luni was referring to the annual Evart Dulcimer Funfest, hosted by the ODPC (Original Dulcimer Players' Club) here in MI.
She, Leafy and I went. There weren't only dulcimer players there... there was all sorts of folk instruments and classes on them. It was a lot of fun. Especially the Celtic music was great. ;) Some of the musicians were really amazing.
That was only one of the things we've been busy doing recently, but we've been keeping up with your prayer requests nonetheless. Congrats on your courage to tell other people about your struggles, Becca! I hope that they will understand your desire for confidentiality. I'm also glad to hear about your cousin.

Hey y'all.
I just found out that in our church, a family's oldest son died while hiking. I don't know if he was a Christian, but he stopped going to church, and I don't know if he ever re-started. His younger sister, Ruth, is a Junior or Senior at a college (the name of which I don't know); her younger brother, Eric, is a freshman at A&M, and has always been one of my role models (Becca, please don't go spreading this around--I don't know how Eric would feel), his younger sister, Rachael, is a Senior in High school, and I set up chairs with Clayton, a freshman in high school. The youngest in the family is Alyssa, and I don't know her that well. Please be praying for their family, especially his mother and father (Rob & Laura).

lol... another prayer request. my cuz kris, came down here to stay for a year, rihgt? well now her parents are splittin, which is a good thing, but kris's dad wants to come and get her. i dont really know my moms side that well, but i do know he aint that good of a dad to be with, and i dont really wanna get into the details if you catch my drift. kris now thinks that she doesnt believe in god, i dont know what is goin on there. i mean, i would die the most painful death if i could just show her all my thoughts inside or if it would help her somehow, but i cant. i cant do anything and it just frustrates me. *sigh*

yup, I'll pray.
I've got another prayer request (gosh I love sharing prayer requests!). The driving school that I'm attending told my mom that I could get my license in 3-4 weeks. But it turns out they actually mean 6 months. My parents (and myself) are upset because I need my license now so that I can help run errands. Please pray that this can be settled quickly and that I still get my license soon!
And, my brother was driving our car down in Houston in June and we had an accident that was totally not his fault. A girl ran a red light and hit us while we were in a green light. We thought everything was settled, but now the girl is saying that we were at fault and now my brother has to go to a hearing in Houston, but he's in college and can't take time off. Please pray that this will die down and things will be handled quickly.
Okay, I think that covers it. Oh, and a praise to add....my dad's cancer scans were clear, so the cancer is probably gone for him!!!! My mom has her scans in about 2 weeks. We should know by then if we're going back to the Philippines, please pray that we will be!
Above all, please pray that God's will be done!

Right. I'll be praying then. I completely get it, TrueCrusader...my family has been there. We had to stop our ministry in Brazil, SA, 'cause of the money issue, and move back here to the U.S. I now realize it was all God's plan, and I'm glad I am where I am. :)
Always praying... ;)

That would be cool if there were a connection, but no, my grandfather lives in VA.
Dawntreader77, I'm so glad nothing seriously damaging happened! I was in a typhoon once (living in the Philippines gives us around three or four of them from July to December) that a gigantic tree crashed onto our house, part of our roof was torn off, the streets were flooded (and our yard, and a bit inside), we didn't have electricity for three weeks, and the plumbing didn't work. Hehe....I was six and I only remember the big stuff from that age.
And, I do want everyone to know that I also come on here and read the prayer requests, but often don't have time to reply to them. I'm praying too!

thanks, Between_the_Worlds. oh and for an update on my grandpa: he's doing better but not by much. they(the doctor's and ppl caring for him) are now able to turn/spin his wedding ring, which they were not able to do before, hence the swelling IS going down, but only a little. he still throws up every time he has even so much as a spoon full of water. yesterday, my dad called and said that he looked like someone took a yellow highlighter to him all over. today dad says he looks a little better. keep praying for him, please. he let my dad read him a evangelistic thing to him(my grandpa) the other day. while my dad read, the two uncles that are Christians that i have prayed the entire time. we are still unsure if Poppop(that's what the grandkids call grandpa) has truly excepted Christ. or if he even understands that it is by grace through FAITH that we are saved. thank you for your prayers.

also pleas pray for my grandma. she is having a VERY hard time with Poppop being sick. and my dad also, he is the oldest of seven children, of which only three are believers. it is very hard for him(my dad). pray that he would have the strength and rest that he needs and that he would be able to clearly comunicate the Word of God to Poppop. pray that also for my two uncles and their wives. thank you again

My family is really going through a hard time right now. My dad is a pastor, and there are some men who are trying to destroy his reputation and make sure he can never pastor a church or publish his books again. I won't go overly into the details, but my dad is being slandered because he told people they could not gossip, and backbite, and must follow Matthew 18:15. These people retaliated, and brought my dad before a currupt church court where he is being prosicuted and judged by the very people who started the allagations against him!
He has to go in for trial this Thursday, and my family already knows that the judgment will be guilty.
I would ask that you pray for my dad. I do not know (nor would I dare to assume to know) what God's plans are, but being a sinful human, I find myself worrying about the future, and angry at the people who had hurt my father. (And then I have to go forgive for this.... :D )
....Praying always for everyone here.....

Hey all,
if you could pray for me for how im doing here and stuff like that. Its kind of hard on me. Unable to speak the language well and so its kind of like feeling alone amongst people that are kind of your friends and stuff. So i just need some encouragment and prayer i think. So that would be great everyone.

Tim: Okay, I'll be praying that God'll strengthen and encourage you.
Don't worry, you'll pick up the language. It's really hard, I know. I had to relearn Portuguese at one point. So I'll be praying that the language comes easy.

Graycloak: there was one point while we were in the Philippines, that my dad also got slandered, his reputation was ruined, and we were kicked out of the church that we had helped. The family and the pastor that started it were very good friends of ours, and at age 10, I didn't quite understand why they were suddenly against us. It was really hard, and it has taken 5 1/2 years before the pastor at fault would even speak to Dad. I know what you are all going through right now and I'm praying for you. I know it's hard.
Dead Rain: I haven't stopped praying for your Grandpa, but I'll also add your other relatives to my prayers. Thanks for the update.
TG: I can't say that it's ever been hard for me to learn another language, the extra one I speak I've known since I was a baby. But I'll be praying for you to find some helpful people to work with in the language. Someone told me that the children are the best to work with. Since children pick up languages easier, talk to some kids and let them help you learn. I'm sure they'd be thrilled to help. :) I'll be praying for you too!
