Boring King Kong

Did anybody else find this movie boring?
The beginning took way too long, and I kept thinking, "Just get to the island already!". There wasn't enough action and many scenes were completely unneccessary.
On the island, the scene where they met the natives was very good. If only the entire movie was made with that much suspense and action. Other than that native scene, much of their island exploration was boring and needed action.
Even the action packed sequences weren't thrilling enough to keep my attention. Admittedly, the scene where the giant insect things came and attacked the explorers was very cool and had me on the edge of my seat. That is the kind of thing they should have done for other 'exciting' scenes. Even Kong's battle with the dinosaurs wasn't that good and I actually fell asleep at the end where Kong was loose in the city.

And I am in no way trying to insult any of the actors here: the acting was marvelous. It's a shame the plot wasn't as good.
In the end, I didn't find it to be all it was said to be. But that's my opinion. What about you?

On a scale of 1 - 10, I gave it a 4 mainly because of the fab. acting.

I never really got to see King Kong

what do you expect?:D it 's the same movie as before, Peter Jackson did a marvelous job on the effects, the only problem is that it has so many sideplots which is actually makes the film boring in the first part, but all in all its okay. :)

I do agree with somethings you said. Dinosaurs wasn't exciting and too long. Um, the city thing was so-so. But I LOVE the beginning. That's the only thing I disagree with. I thought it was brilliant compared to the city return and some bits in the Island. It would bore some King Kong action fans but I do like it. It was quite engrossing in my case.

The action was over done, when it came to the mosters. There was just more and more and more..... it seriously needs a break.

Yes! The acting was excellent! All was proved worthy. Naomi might have bored me a little with the screaming though.

Plot... argh. Also, there was TOTALLY some unnessary scenes. Like right after King Kong falls, what's-his-name (sorry! Forgot name!) comes up and HUGS her! That just destroys the love for King Kong.
