I was bored this morning so I just sat down and started writing, in 20 minutes this was what I'd come up with. Kind of sad but anyway...
(This is taked from When circuses were like this...I'm not exactly sure when that was!)

SAME AS YOU
~It seems most people would give anything to be in a Circus-I’m not like most people, I’d
give anything to be out of it.~
I’m a Circus girl, I’m a performer, and I hate it. No one every cheers me, all they do is laugh-not happy laughs mind you-mean ones. They point and jeer, but that’s my job. You see, I’m a ‘Freak’.

The ‘Freaks’ are really some very nice people, who are just a little different- or ‘Freaky’ as most people say.

There is Carlos-he’s small, most people call him a dwarf. I don’t think there is anything wrong with being small- sometimes it’s good to be small.

People make fun of Don allot too. Don has a back different to most people. A
‘Hunchback’ they call him. But I think Don is lovely, I like him.

Sarah is the type of person who never grows up-literally. She looks like an adult, but you can see it in her eyes, she’s a child, and she always will be.

And Will-well Will is different too. He doesn’t have any arms. But that’s how he was born, it wasn’t his fault, he couldn’t help it, and it is not fair to laugh.

Lastly there is me. I wasn’t born different. I’m not small like Carlos, my back is normal,I won’t always be a child like Sarah, and I have both my arms. Infact I am, I was, perfectly normal. I was just like everyone else. Until the fire-now I am different. I got burnt-badly. People look at me and shudder.

I was normal once, but not now, now I watch as people laugh at Carlos, make fun of Don, tease Sarah, joke about Will and sneer at me.

I wonder what would happen if they were us. I wish they could be me, just for a day. They’d never laugh at different people again.

What if you were me for a day? How would you feel? I hope you’d learn that it hurts to be laughed at. I hope you understand how cruel that is.

Do I cause you to feel revolted? Maybe. Are you Sorry for me? Perhaps. Don’t be. I’m a human, same as you. I never wanted to be different, and it’s not my fault.

If you ever see a ‘Freak’ please remember we are humans, we have feelings and they get hurt, same as yours, probably more. Don’t laugh, don’t make fun or point, just except us.

~Remember on the outside we might be a little different, to you, but on the inside we are
all very much the same.~

Awww, that's really sad, but you write so well, and it has a great message. I really like the first person narrativre...Do you know someone who has gotten burnt like that? I'm just curious what caused you to write this? Again, I think it's really good.

minor correction: the last line should say, "just accept us" not "just except us" :o

Oh great job, Elindil! It's very interesting, and a fresh new topic that not many people write about! I'm glad you picked it! Great job! :)

To answer your question Tim-I don't know anyone, but I was thinking of this little girl who got burned up in her day care, when a car smashed into it,really sad, she lost both feet and her hands and everything got burnt up. I know someone like Sarah, and there's a lady I see around town alot with one arm, and I saw this guy not very long ago with a hunchback...Yea so I'm glad you like it!

This was very moving and reminded me a lot of a movie I saw (though I don't much care for its vulgarity) called Shallow Hal. It deals more or less with the same sorts of issues here presented.

Very good.

Shallow hal is a pretty good movie...:D
and so is the story,
the description is great,
I pity Sarah, once normal but never will be anymore..
It's great to know, that I looked normal as a human being
It's one thing that I truly and greatly appreciated.
Nice work, Grace.
