or is it major characters that were representing a unit of greater size of that species, example: 5 satyrs to represent 500 satyrs that they would later rally is that probable?

lewis says the telamarines were coming company after company, you need a great force to even survive 10 minutes in battle, with that many people right? and also they described fighting for days, so that must have been many creatures ???

Every people in Narnia has its own way to elect leaders. Some are hereditary, others pass a series of tests (often called "The Ordeal") to prove they are worthy, yet others are elected by popular ballot.

These leaders represent their entire people. Regardless of how they were chosen, when they go to council they vote and deliberate by council rules.

It would probably be one or two from each 'section' who went to the council, like in our world, only the people at the top of the ranks would go to council, and then tell their orders to the rest.

I don't think it was in an open space as big as that. I think there were more trees arround, but that might just be the way i imagined it.

I would imagine that Miraz had at least 5 men for every one of Caspian's army, but I don't think Jack specifies.

I thought that Caspian's army kept retreating, which would mean that they had more time to regroup before the next attack.
