This thread was suggested by onlymystory, one of the moderators. I thought the cast of LOTR all did a great job, and my particular favorite characters portrayed are Legolas and Arwen. I like Legolas because who could be so old and yet so cute? I like Arwen because of her strength, devotion, and her love and loyalty to Aragorn. What do you think?

i thinks they are wonderful!! specialy elijah wood! :D
but then- i have said this repeatedly, so i think this is no new thing.

Is Elijah Wood your favorite actor?

Legolas had few speaking parts so i don't think Orlando's acting was much of a strech in the movie. Virgo did an awsome Job with Aragorn! *applause*

ok...for me...i love Eowyn..I think she is the perfect character in the story..brave, strong, confident with herself, didn't scared to go to the battle and know how to fight like the other man even the woman in Rohan didn't go to the battle.

I like Eowyn too. By the way, I love your signature.

Thanks. I'm glad you approve. I like all the characters in LOTR, except for Saruman, Sauron, the Ringwraiths, Wormtongue, Denethor, and Gollum. Other than that, I like all the characters.

Does anyone have some really good pics of the movies? I got my Arwen picture from Curumo.

Do you have to guess my favorite LOTR character? :D
Pippin of course! He is so totally cool. My favorite LOTR actor however is Elijah Wood. I like all his movies and he is a very nice guy :)

It's kinda obvious what your favorite character is. I don't really care for any of the actors in the movies except their performances.

I like Orlando as Legolas, Liv as Arwen(though she has a bit larger parts than in the book doesn't she?), Viggo as Aragorn **VERY AWESOME**oh..and Miranda as Eowyn she does great too!!!

Aravis Kenobi
03-14-2006, 06:41 PM
If I remember correctly, and if I'm wrong, correct me, but I think that Arwen had an extremely small part in the books. They expanded her role in all the movies. :)

Rohan Princess
03-14-2006, 06:59 PM
yeah i think that's right it was discussed on another thread i jus' couldn't remember. but Liv probably wouldn't do it unless her part was more important. just a guess

I know i really hate the fact that they expanded her role in the movie! An her parts are the most boring. They don't contribute anything to the plot. If you skip all of her parts it wont throw off the story line.

Aravis Kenobi
03-15-2006, 12:25 AM
Actually, I'm glad they expanded her role in the movies. I hardly even remember her being mentioned in the books. It's like she appeared, disappeared, and then reappeared. I like her role in the movie trilogy. I think all her scenes are good. Except for some of the real sappy moments, but I have to admit, I like those too. :)

Arwen was just part of a song. On the extended Version of The Fellowship there's a scene where Frodo catches Aragorn singing about her and the proceeds to ask who is the woman he's singing about.

well i think that they all did an awesome job on the movie. there couldn't have been a better cast to portray a book trilogy like this. but i must say that viggo was so snubed out of an oscar. i still can't believe that.

and sorry to break it to u QuennAravis48 but arwins scenes in the trilogy are some of the best scenes in the trilogy. ya know? in fact everytime i see the films i rewatch her parts after the movie is over, my fav. scene in the whole trilogy is from t.T.T. where she is talking to elrond and he tells here there's nothing left for her but death, and u can see her at aragons funeral *gets the chills just thinking about it* and then her/livs face when it comes back from that scene! it's just priceless!

Aravis Kenobi
03-15-2006, 03:22 PM
I know what you mean. Some days I watch chapter 17 of Fellowship. That's one of my favorite scenes with her in it.

i lke Liv's role maybe not because she stuck to the book but i like the scene when she talks to Elrond (can't think of the actor's name right now) but she's an awesome actoress and she beautiful!!!

I love Sean Austen and Billy Boyd, Dominic whatever his last name was really good too. As was Viggo. Did you know Viggo is like 46? He's really good.

Aravis Kenobi
03-17-2006, 01:09 PM
Yeah, I knew Viggo Mortensen was about that. Doesn't look that old though. (In my opinion.) Well, Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd are about forty or at least late thirties. So is Sean Astin.

Mrs Gil-Galad Took
03-18-2006, 03:08 AM
Billy Boyd will be 38 on August the 28th and Dominic Monaghan will be 30 in December. And Sean Astin just turned 35 last february the 25th. So that means our dear Elijah Wood is the youngest with 25 years :D

Aravis Kenobi

"OB" stands for "Orlando Bloom."

Pippin

I liked the whole cast, but my favorites were Aragorn, I really thaught that Viggo Morttenson was perfact for Aragorn! He really had it in him!
My other favorites were the Hobbits, Eowyn, Arwen, Legolas, Gimli, and Gandalf. :)

P.s.
oh and I really liked The horse who played Brego! His reall life name is Uraes.
I think He is a beautiful Stallion! I love him! and if i ever got a horse i would want him to be like him!

Aravis Kenobi

MY favorite horse would have to be Shadowfax. I like him a lot. Fitting that he's white.

Pippin

I just don't care for his life. Or some of the movies that he's been in.

i think pippin did great for the stupidity act!!!

Aragorn took the leader roll most great.

Gimli's part was quite funny.

Legolas was a cool fighter but had even less dialogue than gimli.

king theoden did good (even when he died).

Frodo kind of was the worst i think...he seemed kind of fake in the 2 towers.

Sam did the best to me. He seemed real and exactly like in the book!

Merry's part was good when pippin rescued him in Pelennor Fields.

Gandalf as the white wizard....he seemed cocky to me for a reason...
he did great as the grey though!

Other minor parts were good! even though they were minor!

Aravis Kenobi

All the cast did a fantastic job.

I think the cast did amazing! My favorite characters are Legolas, Merry, and Pippin. I love Legolas cause he's hot, smart, and good with a bow and arrow. I like Merry and Pippin cause they are troublemakers and they are funny and i love it when they sing while dancing on tables. It's amazing how the crew made members of the cast look so young. When I first saw FOTR, I thought Elijah Wood was 13, but he's 26 or something like that.

Aravis Kenobi
04-30-2006, 06:36 PM
Gollum isn't my favorite character, but he's so funny especially when he says, "Not listening, I'm not listening." And that whole bit with him and Sam. I always laugh. :D

That's one of the best parts in the movie. Oh, and when Legolas slides down the stairs on a shield and impales it into a Uruk Hai.

Oh yeah! That was awesome. He like grabs the sheild, throws it down the stairs, rides it, shoots uruks with arrows (while riding) and when he gets to the bottom of the stairs, he flips it up into an uruk's chest. It's like totally awesome! And the part with the Wargs where he flips himself up onto the horse is cool!

Aravis Kenobi
04-30-2006, 10:09 PM
Yeah, that part is pretty much impossible in real life.

I use to be an extremely huge fan of the movies, but ever since I've seen them, the newness has kind of faded. Don't get me wrong, I still like them a lot, I don't really watch them anymore. I'm too busy watching Narnia! I want to get both the soundtracks and the extended editions soon.

I love the LotR movies but since Narnia came I canīt really decide which one I like the most. Right now I think itīs Narnia. Also got all of the soundtracks.
But you should all google: "Theyīre taking the Hobbits to Isengard". Someone has made a really funny video. ;)

I'll try that.

The LotR cast was splendid. I liked how they brought in some people who many hadn't heard of before, but also had actors and actresses who were already famous. It's a very nice mixture! :) They all did a wonderful job; I couldn't imagine anyone else filling their roles.
