MESSAGE TO EVERYONE:

I would like to thank the members of Narnia Fans (dancing lawn) for the support I had making the 'Magician's Nephew' episodes. I had a lot of fun going through the animation and now I regret to announce that the series will be incomplete due to many reasons.
Again, thanks to everyone, and special thanks to (following members):
John Burkitt, Starbuck, Barbarianking, Waterhogboy, who have given me full support whilst making the episodes.

I now leave this thread by posting the unfinished episode:

http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=704803882340483554

This scene is based on Digory's dream of the 'deplorable word'. After the five minute clip, Digory would awaken in fear, and then the episode would continue onwards as read in the book.

And of course, the previous episodes:
Episode 1: (Remastered)
http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=8109828899147727233

Episode 2: (original)
http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=5910942434883544201

Episode 3:
http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=6434129607659071800

So then, my future career lies towards a media company (hopefully the BBC)....and who knows if the Magician's Nephew could be turned into a series, or even a film!

Take care everyone!

That sounds great! I think you should do a whole movie, to be honest. But go ahead; I can't wait! lol

I'm the closest voice you have to Uncle Andrew.... ;)

I think, to be easier on you epidodes, like maybe two episodes? Half the book?
I would really like to play Polly if you want?

FLASH!!!! I'm going to PM you something important!

EveningStar

Audio play would be definitely doable, me thinks. And one could compromise and have stills with audio voiceover. If you can do the full animation, neato. But just remember if you have the audio first, not only does it help with the animation but it also means you could use it alone if you can't finish the visuals.

thats a good idea, you should probably make it with episodes or the whole movie, i bet it will pretty good, can't wait to see it.

I think episodes would be better, but that is just me. if you need a female voice I would love to be Jadas or Polly, if you need. I am experienced in theater and I would love to help.

Thank you for your reply's. From your help, it is very likely to create the book in episodes.

Creating the animation will take a while. I will keep you updated through pictures and perhaps video clips.

Voice acts will be discussed further when i have moved further into my project.

Thanks again!

This is incredible! What sort of voice would u liek for Polly? My voice sounds exactly like Racheal Hurd-Wood's (Wendy from Peter Pan). I am 13, and also, really like to act.
I was Belle in a Beauty and the Beast play....NOT a school play.

Thank you for all your replies!

I will start creating the project from Wednesday (27th Feb 06), at the moment, i have to create the settings and props (means reading the book again)! The enviroment is very important before starting any animation for the characters!

I will be posting the cast listing for voice acts. I will be sending pictures of my project in the near future.

Please check back for updates!

Again, thank you all for the support. As i do not want to dissappoint any Narnia fans, i have decided to release a screenshot of my project in order of proof.

Please understand that i will not be using 'flash' as its going to take way too long!

Not yet, I will notify you once an episode is completed.

Also, i like to say that i have my methods to make the scene look more 'old'. This is simply by showing London from a slight distance! E.g. seeing horses and carts etc.

Unfortunately, to make modified clothes for the characters will take ages, perhaps more then a year. This is simply because of the seperate animation for the movement of the clothes.....ouch.

Its also the same with lip movements. In certain scenes, you will not see the characters moving their lips. But trust me, you will not be put off from this. You will still know who's line it is.

At the moment, creating London in a distance is a huge task, what makes me laugh is that all that effort will only be shown for 10 seconds in film!

Anyway, i am currently wondering where the first episode will end. Reason because, i want them all to be equal in legnth. Any ideas?

ali_f
02-28-2006, 08:17 PM
As i want to create some essence of early London, i decided to put old props, such as horse carts etc. At the moment, like i mentioned before, creating London is quite difficult, therefore this screenshot is still at an early stage!

Anyway, im almost ready to animate Polly and Digory first script! I might use 'original' BBC Narnia theme for the introduction, if not, something original. However, i have to think about consistency with that! As i own the soundtrack for 'Disneys' LWW, i probably will use some of those tracks as well.

Here is the screenshot:
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a338/ali_fighter/LondonNarnia.jpg

I will keep this thread updated. Please leave feedback if you have any ideas for the animation.

Thanks

I am happy to anounce that today i have reached 'uncle Andrew's' magic rings. So far so good, i have no intentions of showing any video clips of this as it is the best to see it as a whole.

Casting voices will soon be available....at the moment the character 'Polly' has been reserved to someone in this forum! However, to make it fair and square, as soon as the casting is posted online, showing which voice acts are available, it will be organised as 'first come first serve'. However, please remember that you must sound proffessional and near to the character. If anybody's voice does not match to the character they chosen......i will come back to that later.

I will be using the same introduction as 'BBC Narnia's series', and probably some tracks from the disney version.

Chapter 1 is not very difficult to animate. But i estimate that later chapters....especially in Narnia will be hard to create, however i will try my best!

Anyway, start thinking now of who your voices match up to in the book. I dont want to be very harsh, but strong accent may cause a problem. It is best to have a 'British' accent as the script seems....well....olden British type.

Thanks. I might consider to post up pictures....but i must be careful, i dont want to go overboard and show spoilers!

Thanks!

Have you concidered having people send you voice atatchments via e-mail so that you could chose based on ability instead of speed?

Sounds like a good idea. I could post a small scripts of each character for people for auditioning!

Yes very nice idea, that is how it will work. I will post up scripts soon. Anyway, time to start Uncle Andrew's conversation about the rings.

PS. If you get the part for a voice act, please try not to back out! It is the first time Magician's Nephew is going to be animated!

ADVICE, KIND OF LONG

First off, please please do the sound first, then the animation. It kills acting ability to emote to already done drawings. You sound like a foreign actor dubbing dialog over a movie. I assume you already know that.

Second, track ambient sound or shush in the background, just enough that when you cut in all these separately recorded actors on varying equipment they won't sound like they're breaking in on walkie talkies.

Third, and most importantly, have everyone read important lines MORE THAN ONCE. Different takes are important. If you don't think so, look at this dialog and put the stress on the all-caps word:

I didn't say you stole the money!

I DIDN'T say you stole the money!

I didn't SAY you stole the money!

I didn't say YOU stole the money!

I didn't say you STOLE the money!

I didn't say you stole the MONEY!

Last thoughts: You can never read a line too slowly, but most people read it too quickly. Don't allow your embarrasment or dignity to affect in any way how you express THEIR feelings in dialog. And ask for 120 percent so you'll get at least 80.

My favorite bit of animated dialog in terms of sheer beauty of expression is in Bambi. There were a few moments there that could help you all to see what you must be willing to give. First and greatest of all is when the Great Prince of the Forest walks by and he pauses a moment by Bambi, then continues on.

Bambi: He stopped and looked at me.
Falline: I know.
Bambi: Why was everyone still when he came out on the meadow?
Falline: Everyone respects him. He's very brave and very wise. That's why he's known as the Great Prince of the Forest.

My blood froze when after panic of the first shooting incident, Falline calmly indicted the human race in the most matter of fact tone:

Bambi (panicked): What...was that?
Falline (calmly): Man...was in the forest.

If you have the DVD, watch it. Some of the best voiceovers in the world happened there. Like Peter Behn's (Thumper's) assessment of Bambi falling on the ice. "You have to move both ends at the same time..."

My two cents.

John B.

Sure, however, i might as well start on the script. As finding voice actors on the web is a new challange for me! You might as well help me :D you seem to know quite a lot about this. Do you have any reccomendations on how i can audition characters? Some say that all voice attachments should be e-mailed to me. But if you know a lot about this, i would not mind if you want to pick the characters voices. I will send the script soon! :)

<SPOILERS! DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK>

Well, Polly is finally dissapeared in mid air! I have finally reached the part without any voice acts. This does not mean that i have been animating the voice sequence, that has been left out for the voices to come first, as advised.

<SPOILERS END> <SPOILERS END>

But anyway, the whole animation is going good so far! I am for the first time going to show a sneek preview of the opening script of Magician's Nephew.

If you think you can play the part....please PM me. It is recommended to have a British accent (sorry to be harsh....but thats how its going to be)!

Opening script:

Polly: <politely> Hullo

Digory: <sad> Hullo.......Who are you?

Polly: <answering> Polly.....Whats yours?

Digory: <reply> ........Digory.

Polly: I say, what a funny name!

Digory: It isn't half so funny as Polly!

Polly: I'm sorry, its just that i never knew a boy lived
here before.

Digory: I wish I live in the countryside. Its better
than a hole like this!

Polly: London isn't a hole!

Digory: <continues> If your father was away in India,
leaving you with a mad aunty and uncle... And if
your mother was ill....and was....going...to
<sad gulp> die!

Polly: <sympathetic> I'm.....Sorry

Polly: <change topic tone> Is Mr. Ketterley really mad?

Digory: <slightly brightened voice> He's either mad....
or there some other....mystery.

Digory: <continues> He has a study room in the basement.
Aunt Letty says I must never go there....
Although.... I must say i can hear strange noise's
from there.

Digory: <continues> Every time he speaks to me at the
dinner table....he's always hushed up.

Polly: <curiously> What does he try to say?

Digory: <reply> I don’t know, he never gets far enough...
But one night.... I'm sure i heard a yell from
the basement

Polly: Perhaps he has a <chuckle> mad wife locked up in
there!

Digory: Yes....I thought of that....Or perhaps he's a
pirate!

Polly: <excited> How exciting...I never knew your house
Is very interesting!

Polly: <Continues> My basement has a large dark hole. I
Don't know how far it goes though....

Digory: <excited> Cor! Perhaps it leads us to hidden
treasure.....

Polly: <thinking> Perhaps it does.....

CALLING VOICE: POLLY!!!

Polly <fast talk> I got to go....we will speak later...
Goodbye...<pant>

MORE TO COME. CHECK FOR UPDATES.

I would like to suggest a bit of monkeying around with the front end, please. Since people are SEEING AND HEARING this not READING it, we need to do something to set the tone for the very creepy things soon to come.

My suggestion is this. Uncle Andrew...from the back...but his wild hair gives a sign something is wicked. He reaches into a cabinet. Close up of him getting some sort of icky sounding ingredient like Vitriolic Oil or Gum Arabic. Hears footsteps, cabinet door closes quickly. Establishing shot has him...again from the back...going to the door. Closeup of hand turning a key in the lock. Knock at the door. "Andrew! Lunch!"

Medium shot, the back of his head again, he's facing the door. "Not now! You're disturbing my work! I'm on the verge of an important breakthrough!"

"You spend more time on the verge of a breakthrough than I spend at the stove. At least some good comes of me."

"Laugh now. When I make my fortune--which should be ANY TIME now--you won't get a brass farthing!"

"Ohhh, I'm quaking in my boots, you fond fool! Tell it to the white mice!"

Footsteps walk away. Closeup of hand. Hand releases key, makes a fist, withdraws from shot. Darken to black. He mutters menacingly, "Fond fool indeed. Getting cut out of my fortune will be the LEAST of your problems!"

Then we cut to the outside....the kids....

Well, after calculating the legnth of the animation, i was quite suprised that the opening scene lasted for 15 minutes, which in my own eyes is impressive!

I have to verify the script again to be sure that it is worthy enough to be added into the animation.

However, i showed my project to a relative of mine, and recieved good feedback from it. I really dont want to mess it up from awful voice acting!

Uncle Andrew's script has been done, as we dont see him for a while in the book (until the end), I think i would ask for his audition first!

More updates coming soon!

After showing my first episode to my family. We discussed and agree to finish the episode at a certain point (no spoilers). I am delighted to say that they liked it! :D

However, i have a problem. I cant seem to find anyone suitable for Digory's voice! I really need a good voice over for Digory.

Anyone up for it? Please PM me, however these are the requirements:

*Must have a British accent.
*Prefebly someone who has not yet broken their voice.
*NO BACKING OUT HALF WAY! - THIS COUNTS THE MOST!

If there is no entry, i can find it from external sites.

PS: Very close to the release......Suprisingly, the main character is tough to find!

It is important that the candidate could do the voice acting through 'Wav format', which can be found using Windows Sound Recorder.

If you could find a candidate suitable for the role:

*British Accent
*No Deep Voice.

If you cant find the candidate, no worries, there are alternative ways of finding someone.

*Brittish Accent.

My Microphone on wave is dead and so I have no way of sending you a sample of my voice for ether Polly or Jadas or any others so If you could PM me your physical address I could send you an actual tape. Thanks a bunch. Oh and if I could get a bit of the script for all the girls so I could know what exactly to say that would be terrific

ali_f
03-05-2006, 04:12 PM
There seems to be a confusion here....At the moment, there are two assigned characters:

*Polly
*Andrew (very close)

At the moment, i have not put in an available auditions for any other characters as i have not reached the part yet. But to complete episode 1, I need to look for a voice for Digory.

Also, whatever the cost is, the sound format must be through 'wav', there seems to be a confusion about the 'tape' method. It wont really work that way, instead sending a script with description is simple and fast.

At the moment, there will be no release for the script yet, as episode one is almost sorted. It is best to send out script for episode 2 since more characters will arrive and will be a bigger project.

Anyway, I like to say that the candidate to play Poly's voice is quite matched up to the criteria. The person to play Andrew is still through at a discussion stage, and Digory is yet still to be found. Only one candidate has asked for it and will be auditioned for it soon. However, i would still want more candidates for Digory.

Finally, look out soon, episode 1 animation is completed, my estimation is that it would be released perhaps between the middle/end of March, however i will notify you all for the release.

YEAH! Google Video has verified it and passed it as i can see this through my account. Stay tuned, within 1-4 hours, you will be able to see Chronicles Of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew - Episode 1.

As the release is very, very near. I would like to post a comment:

Please do not criticise the animation. It is the first time 'book one' has been animated, therefore be greatfull.

I would also like to request for reviews, want to see what you think about the animation.

They may be few bugs found in the animation, reason being is that i have converted the video straight from the software, so this means the picture quality lacks skipping a few frames.

Anyway, more info to come once the video is live between 1-4 hours.

Update coming VERY soon!

Ok guys, please enjoy my animation. Please remember to review it, heck be the first to review it.

The credits consists of fan lists. Sorry if your name is not there as there was a lot to submit, however, there is episode 2, and so forth.

I will also like to make an announcement that I am going to study for a while before moving onto episode 2, since i am getting good grades i have to keep it up.

Anyway enjoy my animation. Thanks for all those who have helped!

The voices, I think were a bit slow, when Polly and Diggory were talking about their names!
They werent clear as much, and that should be a goal for the cast next time!

Im quite glad that i got positive feedback. In matter of fact, the report by video google is telling me that some have downloaded it!

Episode 2 will be in talks around two weeks, as i have to study. But no worries, i will not abandon it, it is my desire to complete the first book.

For the time being, i may make an animation about the voices behind the characters. Including wrong parts.....hehehehe, I got some recordings with big mistakes.

Anyway, thanks for all the replies. I will post updates and screenshots in the future for episode 2!

Those who read the book will know which characters are coming......Ouch, it will be hard to create but i will try my best. :D

Hmmm, I liked it but I think the 3d designs let it down a bit. Your're obviously very experinced in this so I suggest Flash, it's easier to use and you could draw the characters. (Of course I'm suggesting this for the next book you do, as you can't suddenly get new character models.) And the music at the start...total nostalgia bath...

I'm looking forward to seeing Aslan.

Aslan might be hard to make! I'm looking forward to the White Witch!

Right on! Absolutely true, Aslan will be hard to make! But i have my method. This is simply from spawning a cat model, making it larger in scale and using colour renderings and lions features on to it. It is possible but you can probably tell that it has been overmasked through various shapes etc.

For the white witch, i'm not going to create a fancy dress for her. It will be simple. However she will wear a crown.

My worst nightmare is creating the: 'half horse, half man' or anything similar. Thats when it is really going to take ages to render.

Episode 2 will be in works soon! (examinations taking place at college)

Well, due to my studies, i have slowed down a bit! However, i will continue making the episodes in my free time.

What i have done lately with episode 2 is to choose the 3d characters. Jadas has been spawned! I will post pics of her soon.

Aslan however is quite difficult to create. To be honest, Aslan will be created with basic shapes (spheres, squared, cylinders). However it wont be noticeable during animation, as he will hopefully blend in. If i show the pic of aslan on its own......it will look slightly odd!

More updates coming soon!

I have not posted for some time now since I am working hard towards my studies. However, in my free time, I can start creating the animation.

So where am I lately? Well those who read the book know that i have a lot to do with the scenery:

<SPOILERS> Diggory and Polly would enter different places when entering the pools with their rings, as one of the locations turns out to be ruins
<SPOILER ENDS>

I am also having problems from deciding whether the white witch should have the characteristics of the BBC version....or the Disney version. Reading the book, I can tell you she acts more like the BBC version, however this could change through feedback from others. (Including you guys ;) )

I am also getting mails from people what the white witch looks like. Well, I will probably keep that as a suprise. However, I can give you details that I prefer it if her appearance will be different from the Disney and BBC version. Something that people would remember from this animation (mostly within the clothing section).

Anyway I will keep you updated. I have not created any script, therefore voice auditons are not up yet.....however.....I can tell you that I have found a voice for Aslan ;) .

PS: If you can, please post up what type of witch would you want.....The BBC version....Or the Disney version. It will really help.

Long live Narnia :D

After days of animation for episode 2. I must say that it has become much more difficult.

E.G

Each brick from a building is animated a 'frame' for it to have the effect of a 'zoom-out'. And there are at least 50 bricks to animate and there is 100 frames.

So how long is the animation's legnth? Well so far it has gone up to 12 minutes. My target is between 20-30 minutes to make it an episode.

Also, THE QUEEN! After days and days of creating a queen, it has turned out to be bad news.....The queen is very hard to create and to be honest, I can only create a simple mod. The traditional clothes wont be there......robes etc since I have explained above the effort required to animate it.

Anyway enough with the bad side. After showing the animation to a certain person ;) I am happy to know that so far the thumbs are up! According to this person, the screenplay wont be like part one, instead there is more animation going around in the background. Also, the soundtrack in this episode will be quite interesting. Something to match the picture.....which means the queen will have a dramatic entrance. :D

What about voice acts? Well, i will be sending scripts to the characters (Polly And Digory) soon in the future. Some characters still have not been chosen.

Check for further updates. Hopefully, I can get to complete episode 2 soon!

Umm - aren't you forgetting that Jadis is supposed to be sitting at the end of a long row of statues? All here royal predecessors on the Throne of Charn. She doesn't sit in a room by herself. That's how the children are surprised - all they see is the row of image, and after ringing the bell are startled when one of them stands up.

LOL yeah i know. That picture you saw there is a test of the location/background.. I have done that but not posted a screenshot of it.

Also about Jadis.......too hard to create, therefore I have tried my best. Please try to understand that her usual clothes described in the book wont be there. This is simply because of the animation required to move the robes is very difficult. Lets put it this way.....Jadis in this version will be unique.

Yes finally, the animation is complete for episode 2 alongside with the soundtrack which is VERY interesting according to those that I have shown.

It is now time to find the voice for Jadis, since this project has also been listed other places, there may be high volumes of auditions for Jadis.

If you think you are fit for the role, please e-mail me with a voice file:

Method:

Click Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder

Using 'Sound Recorder', say your favorite line from the book (my favorite: "how did such as you dear to enter my domain...) and send the file as an attachment.

My e-mail address: ali_fighter@yahoo.co.uk

Please try to understand that it is difficult to choose the candidate, so if you did not get the part......no hard feeling :o

Due to the amount of frames added into episode 2 animation, I am experiencing problems which can be solved. However, the voice acts have not been included yet.....will be soon.

There will be a slight delay for ep 2, however, the good news is that there is more length of animation.

Also i have showed the animation to 'someone' ;) and am very suprised that i got good feedback from it. Lets just put it this way......it will have more action!

Thanks! In some aspects, I am happy that i did not choose to do one big film of the 'magician's nephew', simply because the amount of problems i would experience in synchronization......Yes thats right music would be out of place including voices etc! Yet its still is possible to fix that, only it would be more difficult.

Anyway, Digory And Polly voices will hopefully start their voice acting! Jadis.......yep the stubborn one will probably start around 1st of April.

Yes its true. This means that episode 2 will be published very, very shortly. The only problem is that it is 10:30 PM in London and i am dog tired. So I might send a link for it tommorow. It depends how long google video will take to put it online (which is probably not long now since its verified).

Anyway, if i dont post soon, it means that I am snoring away, otherwise I will post a link for it in a couple of hours.

However, I like to make a statement (which i would do in every episode):

Queen Jadis wont be wearing the traditional robes and crown due to the hard animation i would have to put on to it. Also, since i got to create an Aslan, I think the animation for the Lion will be EXTREMELY difficult, reason why I dont want to spend to much times on robes/crown etc.

Anyway after showing the episode 2 to 'someone', i recieved good reviews for it! That also reminds me that please try to leave some feedback for the animation, if possible rate the thread or reputation. I would be much appreciative.

Anyway, look forward soon, Episode 2 is very close for its release!

Here is the link for episode 2. I hope you enjoy it! Please leave feedback of the animation, and if possible either rate this thread/reputation. I will be much appreciative.

Here is the link:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3283373942271336479&q=narnia&pl=true

As i mentioned before, try to understand the reason why the queen will not be wearing any crown or robes. It will require a lot af animation, which i have to save for Aslan.

Thanks!

Seen it? I Frakking love it! I like all the seasons except for the one where Chris Barrie/Rimmer was absent and was replaced by Kochanski. For me the show became dismal and just died in that season, and poor old Lister was just poor old Lister, he was just like Laurel without Ollie when Rimmer was absent plus they killed off 'Ace' too  .

But when they produced the more recent season and resurrected the original Rimmer that brought me back! Rimmer the straight man to Listers casual insane antics, LOL! No wonder Holly made a hologram of him to keep Lister sane! I have only seen a few episodes of that season though.

Thats fine, I will soon start on episode 3. The hardest thing in an animation is to do the beginning.

Anyway, I need to ask all you guys a question in order to help me create episode 3:

Which episode had a better 'theme' e.g. music, animation, locations etc. Episode 1 or 2.

Your result will help me understand in what theme i should put in episode 3.

Episode 1 or 2.

Thanks

(PS: this will also result in changes for Aslan, so pick wisely)

Blimey Ali that's a tough one! I like the slow but gradual pace of the first episode, as it introduced the situation, but overall I'd have to say that I prefer the faster technique of episode 2, it also had the best music too and I also like how you incorporated Tumnus's music into the first film and the eerie music you used at the beginning of the first episode. I also preferred the sets of the first episode.

You're also going to have to introduce Aunt Letty, Digory's mother some policemen and Frank the cabbie, also the shop keeper who had a a necklace stolen from his shop by Jadis. I don't have to tell you that this will be a tough one Ali! As Jadis will be riding Strawberry who eventually becomes Fledge father of all winged horses, and you'll probably have to draw some ransoms, the wreckage of a Victorian style cab or something similar and you'll have to draw a lot more people too. So please take your time ;) .

Plus keep posting messages at the beginning of each episode please.

Thanks, I really appreciate that. Anyway, its coming near for the development of episode 3, and yes its true, it will be difficult. I can imagine from here, the following episodes will take some time to create. I mean, creating a flying horse, special affects and a swinging lamp post!

As those who have read the book, you would know that episode 3 will consist of many characters. Thanks for starbuck who has reminded me what the 'cabby' will turn out to be, I have to choose the right type of character.

Episode 3 will....well....contain destructive scenes. So that means more animating frames. I just hope it goes well! I'm just reading the chapter again to create the scenes etc. And i guess Aslan might appear in this episode!

Managed to wrangle me a professional microphone. Between that and my mixer (reverb, pitch bend, etc) I can do a very convincing Aslan.

I'll have to send you an updated sound sample....

A suggestion for you...if there were other bits of music that mix well with Chronicles of Narnia but are not from the original soundtrack, that might add some interest. I've a vast library of classical materials, and I'm itching to try and pick you something that will fly.

At the moment I'm doing some voiceovers for my new EveningStar website on royalmagi.org. Perhaps when that's through you'll sneek a peek and listen a bit. Thanks.

Well......none at the moment, im still trying to finish my assignments at college.

However, i was reviewing ways to create an Aslan, and have found out that episode 3 will take a lot of time to create. Aslan requires 23 objects to be animated.....imagine moving each one frame by frame, and trust me, there are too many frames.

Implementing episode 3 will start hopefully this weekend.

Hi Again!

I just like to say that i am still alive....Just that i went to Turkey for a Holiday. So unfortunately I have not really done anything yet.....

The problem I am facing is to create Aslan. If i go ahead creating episode 3, Aslan will be made with cylindar shapes. To prevent this from happening, i am moddeling a Lion. At the moment, I am using a Cat model and am trying to build onto it.

I reckon once this is done, we will have ALL the episodes in no time.

So let me tell you what the current process is.......well, i am changing the dress for Jadis for the next episode (yep, the classic Jadis costume).....However it is not that easy since it requires me to re-program the model.

Basically, here is a pic of Jadis in Blueprints:

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a338/ali_fighter/preview.jpg

For Aslan, i have found a model of a cat, but will be programmed (if possible) to make it like a Lion. I am trying my best NOT to resort on basic shapes as this can really ruin the picture.

I have also found a new software which can change the Frames Per Second much more faster, meaning that the animation will REALLY look spectacular since there will be no more jerkyness etc.

So right now i am still at a tutorial stage on learning how to re-program etc. Once thats done, its all green from there :)

Your brother probably has the software, but the only difference is that people are exploiting it, meaning that the whole software has changed making things that were not possible once now FINALLY possible.

Although re-programming is a headache as it requires to alter the ASCII Codes......I thought i was done with maths once i passed it.....but it keeps on coming back ;)

Yikes, sorry for not posting here for some time now.....

So whats happening? Well, since recieving good marks from the first year of college, i never knew that the second year would be more difficult.

In other words i have delayed the series until christmas where i hope i have more free time etc.

Ali do you have anyone helping you on the production side? Besides voice actors if you know what I mean?

(hows it going starbuck, hope everthing has been ok etc.)

Well, apart from voice actors I will be requiring assistance from experts (also using same software) for 'project aslan'. Unfortunately the software i am using (3DMM) does not have any lions for props etc. so i'm guessing it will be difficult etc.

Apart from that, i gotta get back studying (exactly what im doing now). But once i start back on the project, i will post here etc.

Oh, and for episode 3, i may plan to increase the framerate of the video, makes visuals look much better.

I'm doing just fine my friend, congratulations on the good marks hope you get many more, as for me I've just finished all my Christmas shopping for my folks, now all I've got left to do is get some of the more perishable items like Wine, Champagne and various Christmas foods for the big family dinner on the 25th, and Port and Irish Cream for myself, and a Birthday present for my brother whose birthday falls as fate would have it next month.

If I were you, I would focus more on your studies above 'The Magician's Nephew', and don't listen to any nay sayers when they unfairly critisise your work on the films, I can't imagine how much work goes into the films and not everyone is fluent in the use of computer film making software, you do what you can with what you have and as always I am eternally grateful for your unforgettable effort in this. Besides if you weren't doing it who else would?

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and God Bless ;) .

So, studies have certainly become harder. I mean, these assignments i do gets a lot of marks to add to the final grade. After this course, i will be reaching University to undertake a degree on Multimedia Technology and Applications.

My first set off assignments are to be submitted in February, after this its mostly going to be exams. This means i wouldn't be stressed out as much, and probably will start implementing episode 3.

Also, it has been decided to create Aslan with basic shapes......so that means it wont be a work of art :(.....this also means to make him walk etc. will take some time but can be done :)

So, finally i can see episode 3 coming soon now!!!!

Does anyone know if episode 3 will be released?

Hey!

Well, perhaps this summer I may continue the series. However, it is likely a new cast may be required.

Ok, that was great. I saw the two episodes and read all pages of posts (minus the cereal conversations and such) I think you did a great job ali. Keep it up. I read a post of someone saying not to waste time with this as this was not very professional. Of course no one said it was a professional project. It is a fan-made movie, not a big studio production.
Anyway, great job so far. Nice following the story as it is in the book.
It's been a while since episode 2 hasn't it?;)

Hi people!

Thanks for your replies! Reason why its taking so long for episode 3 is due to modelling Aslan!

However, since I am in my first year of Uni, one particular module has taught students how to use a professional program known as 3D Studio Max. Of course, from using this software, it is possible to actually create Aslan! But, at this time of the year, its getting closer to the 'end of year exams' and hopefully once their done. I will make start on episode 3.

Thanks to all!

Well, get done with your school work first. I think that should be your priority. I think people waited a long time for this, a little longer won't make a difference. Good luck on your final exams!

Yes, I have started production on episode 3. Its true......I have time on my shoulders as I am not going on holiday this year (however, I am happy to anounce that I have passed my first year at Uni!)

But......I am considering this episode to be complimentary.....and perhaps the last episode. There are mighty big challanges coming up from the novel, but hopefully I will be able to scrape through them!

<SPOILERS> For those who have read the book, I have reached the point where Queen Jadis follows Andrew and 'Aunt Letty' see's Jadis for the first time </SPOILERS>

So, this time, I've actually started! Since this is a complimentary episode, I will do my best using every animation techniques...So I am not going to rush!

Of course, I wouldn't end this post without a screen shot of the third episode! Here is Aunt Letty's first appearance:

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a338/ali_fighter/Letty.jpg

Oh, and few points to mention, Episode 3 will use much faster frame-rate. So now, there won't be any speech delays or 'choppy' animation!

PS: If EveningStar is still here, I would very much like if he could take the voice role for Aslan! Of course, I will need to get to that point before I can ask! The third episode might take me 3-4 weeks of course.

Peace to everyone!

EveningStar

I'm still here, and I would be honoured to do the voice.

Hi John! Good to hear from you! I am very much looking forward to sending you the script for Aslan's part in the animation. However, it will take me a couple of weeks to get to that point, of course, I will notify you at the right time.

Take care.

Ali.

Well, since im giving 'all I got' in this episode.....I have realised that some scenes require a lot of animation etc.....Hopefully it will all go smoothly!

<Spoilers> I have completed the scenes when Jadis steals 'cabby's' horse, oh and of course, here is a picture of Digory and Polly running 'towards the excited crowd' as stated in the book:
