FOTR is my most favorite book. In this book you'll learn to know the characters and the history of the ring. Everybody was still together and the hobbits were unharmed and unaware of the danger. I loved the places like Shire, Lorien and Rivendell and Tom and Goldberry were in it as ell.

Hm... Hard to decide. Maby the Fellowship. THe return of the king is so sad. I hate the Scouring of the Shire and The Grey Havens. I think that it is stupid that Bilbo and Frodo went to the undying lands even if it was a great honor granted to them by Iluvator. (sighs) Oh well. It makes things more dramatic.

FotR, definately, then you still have everyone together, and you don't have to wait one book before you can read something about Frodo and Sam again, i love Tom Bombadil and the journey to Breeg... Bree... well, the place with the inn:D

I love the part with the rope when Sam and Frodo climb down. Frodo was a bit sceptical about the elvish rope :D

I suppose if I had to choose a favorite book,it would be The Return of the King. It was the only one in the series I could understand and figure out the characters in.

I read all 3 of the books when I was in 5th (now in 8th) and I just recently read ROTk and TTT this summer.
maybe ROTK. TTT is my fav. movie, but ROTK is probably my fav. book out of the trilogy.

I like the Fellowship of the Ring, but I'm really looking forward to Tim Vander Meulen's first book called "Greatness of the Elves" that is coming out in a few years.

That's really a tough choice to have to make, but I guess it would be "The Return of the King"

I added a poll to this old thread! And I cast the first vote, for Return of the King. I love all the books, but The Silmarillion is hardest to read, because it is like an overview or all background rather than one gripping story.
:)
Now everyone vote.

My favorite book is The Fellowship of the Ring. It's probably the simplest of the three (in my opinion), and it introduces everything. Plus, it has some of my favorite parts and places of the whole trilogy, like the Shire and Lothlorien.
