Why do some people change their names?
Growing up, I had a friend, Patrick, who, when he was about 13, decided to change his name. And his parents let him!!! Thankfully he changed it back later, but I never understood why he did it in the first place. I know people that don't LOVE their name, but it's their's, and that means something. And personally, I was kind of fond of that name...you know, like Patrick Roy! :)

Saxon, boring?!? It is repetivtive, but that is the best way to learn! The purpose of Saxon is that you slowly build up your skills, while keeping then in tune.

It took me about 4 hours to get to Edinburgh from London by train.

That sounds about right- I did it last summer, but we stopped at almost every single station on the way up, so it took a little longer. Nice journey though, especially when you come out of Newcastle.

Yeh it depends on the destination aswell, because London to Leeds and London to Mid-Wales are about the same distance, but London to Leeds would be much quicker cos its straight up a motorway.

Hmmmm...., with a little bit of maths we can work this out. If it takes me 4 hours to get to London, then it would take 8 hours to go from top to bottom of England, and about 13 to go from top to bottom of the whole British Isles.

I did watch top gear once and he took a car for a test drive from London to Edinburgh and back again. He had to stop overnight in Edinburgh so it must have been a long drive. (he was going at 50mph for the whole time though...)

well, my screen name (i guess that's what you call it) doesn't really leave much room to guess, does it? my name is nick. It is about an British athiest trapped in a communist system who attempts to overthrow the system by whatever (and I mean whatever) means necessary, fornicates whenever possible, gets himself caught, tortured and turned into an achololic excuse for a human being with not even his free will (let alone any hope) being left intact... A Fascinating insight into the time it was written, but I would not go so far as to say fantastic...

Oh no, Henry is a wonderful name! One of my younger brothers decided he hated his own name (Benjamin) when he was 4 and went around calling himself 'Henry' for a while.

But I think a lot of people dislike their given names; I can't stand my first name or any of its shortenings.

No - I mean my full name. Jonathan. I cant pronounce 'th' properly - i say 'f' instead!!! But yeh with my northern accent it comes out Jonafun..... :(

Well actually my mum says I'm just to lazy to pronounce 'th'. I can but I couldnt be bothered to learn properly when I was little so I got used to saying 'f'. But still, I hate telling people my name when I get to know em so I call myself Jonny instead.

My parents wanted to call me James, but my aunt and uncle stole it for my cousin whos a couple of years older than me, so I ende up a Jonathan. My middle name comes from an old pastor of my mum and dads who was called Brian Henry Keane. Sadly, he died but my parents gave me my middle name for that reason. My middle name 'Gabrielle' is the same as my mum's, although i don't know where she got it from. Her first name was Jocelyn, whcih I've always really liked.
