The Rest of the Story

****WARNING STORY SPOILER*** Do NOT read this unless you have read all seven Chronicles.

This is my first attempt at writing, so please bear with me. I am open to suggestions. I am NOT trying to steal C.S. Lewis's Narnia, nor do I think that I could ever be as good as he. But I really wanted to write this, so here goes.

~Chapter 1~ "Why, won't Mum just believe!?"


A young girl of about eight years old, could be seen riding hard down the sunny green slopes of California. I can't tell you much the girl, because the lanscape and her horse were so large, and she so small in comparison, that you could really only see that she was blond, and her horse was snow white. Together, they made a light colored blur.
Presently, the girl came to a halt in a grove of tree. You could now see that she was very upset, in fact she had been crying. She alighted off her horse with an amazing amount of skill and begain to lead her deeper into the trees.
"Oh, Swanwhite!" she said to her horse."What am I going to do! Mum won't listen to me. But I know I'm right! I have to be!" The horse responded by nuzzleing the girl.
As she walked, she reviewed the event that had just taken place...

"Mum! I'm home!" called Lucy Thatcher as she laid her sloulder bag on the counter.
"I'm in the nursery,love!" Lucy made her way down the hall of their summer home. She liked it in California. But she liked their regular home in England better. America was nice, but England was home.
She paused at the doorway of the nursery and looked in. Her mother was leaning over the baby crib, her long brown hair hung down almost to her waist. Baby Peter Edmund cooed. "Hello, dear." her mother said looking up. "Did you enjoy your time at the library?" "Oh, yes Mum!" lucy said bounding into her Mothers arms. "Come and see the book borrowed!"
"Oh, just one this time." said her mother grinning."After last week I thought you would come home with half the library!"
Lucy laughed. "Well, actually, it's three books in one volume."
"I see." said Mum as they walked over to the counter. Lucy handed her a large, thick. leather bound book with a smile.

Lucy's mother read out loud. She frowned.
"What, Mother? What is it?" Lucy said with a puzzled look. "Is something
the wrong?"
"Lucy, I don't think you should be filling your head with this nonsence.
There are no such things as dryads, unicorns, or mermaids."
"Well of course not Mum. Not in this world, there are in other worlds. Worlds where animals and trees can talk, and there are fauns and dwarfs,
and anything can happen! I going to one someday, I haven't figured out how
yet, but I know I will..."
"Lucy Helen Thacher! That is enough!" her face had turned quite
pale. "There will be no more talk of such nonsence!"
"But Mum it's not nonsence! There are other worlds! I know there are!"
"Lucy! I said that is enough, and I ment it! Now I want you to go..."
But Lucy could no longer hear her mother. She had grabbed her book, shoved
it into her bag and ran out the back door, stopping only long enough to gather
up her horses lead and halter. As she ran down the slope to the paddock. the
tears streamed down her face. Her horse winnied as Lucy vaulted herself over the fence. Lucy quickly threw the halter over the horses head, and
attached both ends of the lead to the halter. Grasping a handful of mane
she swung herself onto the creamy white back. "On, Swanwhite! Come on girl,
jump the fence!" With a neigh the faithful horse complyed, sailing over the
fence with room to spare. Lucy glanced over her sholder at the house before
directing Swanwhite to the north.

Narnian Princess, here is my patented Dumb Idea of the Day (DID for short, or just DI, that's SHORTER).

Write the story in your word processor at your leisure. Then go on line and paste it up in seconds, leaving you 14 minutes and 52 seconds of time to do whatever else floats your boat. :D

oh to copy and paste? You just highlight what you want to copy then right click, a little list comes up, so then you push the copy button, then you come to this thread and right click on the space where you post replys and push the paste button on the list!...there hope that wasnt to confusing! I have a problem with not being confusing!:D

Good job! I am fully answered in my previous question. Bravo, you definately did the last thing I suspected! I kept thinking not involving a linear timeline and jumping Lucy back to the Narnian past...if that makes any sense.
By the way excellent choice on castles. If I remember correctly that castle is in Germany and was the basis for the Disney castle. I think, course it is a bit late where I am and my memory has never been the greatest.

I put the green dress in because I absolutly loved that dress! :D And I put in the bow and arrow part because I really like archery, and I thought the idea of her pointing an arrow at the 'Promised One' would be kind of funny.

As for the letter-it's beautiful, I love it! It's perfect :). That's exactly what Peter would say!...That's very interesting that all three (so far) had the feeling that they were going away to "Narnia" for good soon; it's an interesting twist.

Oh, wonderful! That's just what I wanted to hear :). Great job, showing Susan's thoughts, both 10 years ago and now. That's really interesting who she married (and she's lucky about that vacation home in California, I hear California is a really nice place :D).

A couple questions:
1) Why is she now feeling so alone now, 10 years after the death of her siblings? Are we gonna find out more about her family life now? Is she now starting to realize how shallow her life has been? (You might be getting to this, so forgive me if I'm jumping the gun on you here...)
2) In chapter 3 when we first get to see her opening the wardrobe, was that the first time she has opened it in the last 10 years? (That's really cool...I wonder why she kept it?! :))

Hey, I just wanted to clear something up. In Chapter 2, NarnianPrincess says this:

The Lion smiled. ”We are not in America, dearest. You have found one of the last remaining doors from your world into another. We are in Azaria.
“Azaria? That’s a pretty name! Has my Mother ever been here?” Lucy said, hoping that there might finally be something she and her mother had in common.
“No, my dear. She has not. Your mother belongs to Narnia where she was a Queen with her two brothers and sister. She cannot come to Azaria.
“My Mum was a Queen! Why on earth didn’t she tell me!
So, Aslan calls the new place that Lucy enters "Azaria" and says that Susan has never entered...He would have said that she died and entered the New Narnia if this was the new narnia, and Aslan wouldn't have called it "Azaria" if it was the New Narnia. Just wanted to clear that up...:)

okay, I'm slowly catching up with your story, NP. I just read chapter 6.7, which was Edmund's letter, and I loved it! (One minor correction: in the letter it says, "We can go through eternitiy without you" and I think you meant to say, "We can't go through eternity without you"). That's also cool how you worked Mere Christianity into the story, that's probably my favourite book of all time (and God used that book to bring me to Himself probably more than anything else)...Anyway, all of the letters have been fantastic so far, you're giving yourself a lot to live up to with Lucy's letter! ;) I'll be eagerly awaiting that...

I'll read and comment on chapter 7, 7.1, and 7.2 soon; I just got back into town and I have a lot of other things to do...I hope your trip went great too.
