Trufflehunter's gender?

Is it true that the BBC changed Trufflehunter's gender from male to female? It's been years since I've seen it, so I can't remember.

Yes, they did make Trufflehunter a female.

I think that's dumb. They shouldn't switch genders. I wonder why they did that. That would be likke making Aravis a guy... sort of... ;) :)

Perhaps they though PC was a bit bloke ehavy and decided (in the way the Beeb does best ) to make PC more PC (oho dear..apologies)..I didn't really work for me i must say...

Trufflehunter had an aggressive streak in the book, I recall. There's a hint that he was the one who killed Nikabrik. I wonder if his gender was the only thing they changed, or whether they made him more stereotypically feminine in other ways.
