I'm geeky Trekkie. Is anyone else?

Hmmm, Star Trek.......Is that considered to be fantasy??? I don't care much for that, but I do like Star Wars.

Hmm, I don't suppose. But there wasn't anywhere else to put it, and some parts are rather fantastic.

I guess I'm new to everything around here. I'm new to this forum, and I'm new to the Star Trek thing. But yeah, I consider myself a Trekkie-in-Training.

Yay! Trekkie! Favourite series?

I just joined this forum today, so I'm new too.

I love the original Star Trek (TOS) the best. But I'm learning to like Star Trek: Enterprise. Kirk and Spock are still my favorites though.

Lord Darcey
11-25-2004, 10:29 PM
I don't really like Enterprise too much. It's getting better, but *shrug*. TOS is good, yep. 'Tis fun. But my favourite's TNG. It has a lot of philosophy and such in it.

I think my favorite would be TOS, then TNG, and then DS9. I don't really like Voyager and I haven't yet seen Enterprise. I would consider myself a Trekkie! ;) Star Trek was in fact, my first sci-fi passion, then came Star Wars, and that somehow led to LotR. Narnia was my very first passion though.

I'am not a star trek fan, I've never been able to get into it. A few of my friends could be considered trekkies and so ,even as a big star wars fan, I have nothing against trekkies! ;) :)

Not much of a STAR TREK fan, but my favorite is TNG(Picard--you can't go wrong with a name like Jean-Luc!) and second would be Voyager, but only because it was the one I saw most on the telly when I was little.
Hehehe. Go to www.starwarsspoofs.com and move your pointer over the upper-left corner(in space) and click on the Enterprise to see what would happen if Luke ever met up with Kirk.

GrayCloak
12-14-2004, 02:16 AM
...I'm pretty sure that would send Luke over to the dark side....

P.S. Kirk rules Picard drules! ;)

I like Star Trek and Star Wars. Both cool.

Dead Rain
12-26-2004, 12:25 AM
which do you like better, Prince Corin?

Prince Corin
12-26-2004, 05:31 PM
Well, they're different. Star Wars is cool because of all the "use the Force" and lightsabers etc. Star Trek is cool because it's searching the universe and finding aliens and shooting klingons and stuff. But I think I like them equally. Like I said before, they're both cool. :)

Some of those star wars spoofs were pretty good, Aragorn. Thanks!

Who else here is going to try to get tickets to the first showing in their area, of the next Star Wars? In full costume? :D

I'm a trekkie by birth, it was a family thing. I grew up watching it, but haven't really followed it for the last five or six years. We were obviously into Star Wars too, but my uncle was/is the one obsessed with such things. :)

Ooh! I'm a Trekkie! (and yes, I'll get to that religious debate, I've been busy) I'm a Trekkie!!!!!!!! Born a Trekkie, raised a Trekkie, and I'll die a Trekkie.

My favourite is, naturally, TOS. Then Voyager, and TNG. Haven't seen much of Enterprise, I wasn't impressed with it. I am in the process of delving deeper into DS9.

My friends from youth group and I are planning on going to the midnight showing of ep3 in full Jedi knight costume, complete with lightsabers, hairdos, and, maybe, some facial art(??). We wanna act like total SW geeks, always referring to each other as "master," et cetera. It'll be ace!

lsipher
12-30-2004, 02:16 PM
Ha, Aragorn, that's prefect!!!

Most of the "kids", including some very big ones :) , at church, that includes me, are going to see it together. In full costume, of course. We were planning to go to the first showing, then walk out of the theartre saying things like...

" I can't believe it...Obi won is actually Luke's FATHER, not Vader!!!"
or
" Ewww, are you telling me that Leia and Han Solo are cousins, I think I'm gonna be sick!"
or
" What were they thinking, putting in that scene between Vader and the Emperor. It's still creeping me out!!"
or
" Why was Yoda wearing Leia's titanium bikini from The Emporer Stikes back? That is just wrong on so many levels!!"

jk jk jk jk jk......well, maybe?

I sure hope you're laughing.

Oh ya just a note Kirk is the best captain in star trek! (Then again hes the only one who kills things! every other captain just says "Hail them!".. "Put up shields" They never use lethal force!) KIRK ROOOCKS!!!!!!

Daughter of Eve

Kirk is the best captain, hands down.

Picard is awesome though, and so is Janeway. I do NOT like Sisko. As for Enterprise, I watched a few episodes, and pronounced it stupid. I'm trying to like DS9....

Kirk, Spock, Bones, and Scotty are like the BEST chars. from TOS.

Lord Darcey
01-30-2005, 10:03 PM
Ooh. *pokes this board* I almost forgot about this place, but I'm totally back. Yeah. And procrastinating from studying for midterms, but I do that kind of thing a lot. *sigh*

TNG is the best series. Captain Picard comes the closest to being reasonable and logical, although he's done some stupid things. I like Data. And Guinan. Troi annoys me, but maybe only because my mom is a psychologist and so psychologists/counselors/whatever associate in my mind with being annoying. I wouldn't want someone reading my emotions all the time, though. >.<

Oh, and Kahn is HOT.

Hey, I'm a trekkie too! Here is my verdict on the Captains:

1. Kirk: The funniest, gutsiest, and most creative captain. He can talk or bluster his way out of anything. ANYTHING. As long as Scotty and Spock are there to handle the technical end of things.
Downside: If the villians brought out a reasonably attractive girl for Kirk in the last five seconds before blowing up the Enterprise, the ship would be doomed. And he gets testy with the crew for no reason sometimes.

2. Picard: The reasonable, occasionally gutsy, and logical captain.
Downsides: Too much talk, not enough action. He thinks he can get out of any situation with some rather cliched monolouge. And he let's Wesley get away with far too much.

3. Spock: The best of both worlds. The most logical captain, encouraging to the crew, and he plays poker with the best of them. He can talk his way out of almost any problem, if he thinks it's the logical thing to do, he reads humans like a book, pretty women do not distract him, and his monolouge's use short, easy words that any evil doer can understand.
Downside: This Galaxy renowned wonder does not desire the Captaincy. I still suspect that it's only a feeble excuse he makes up so he can have more time to be the glue that holds the federation together.

I don't know any of the other Captains, original and Next Gen are the only ones I've watched. What are you guys opinions on whose the best, and why?

I've only watched all the films and just several of the episodes from the original, TNG and DS9. Here's a desktop/wallpaper I did of the Borg...if any of ya'll are interested.

Hey, don't forget the annoying way in which he straightens his uniform virtually every single time he stands up or goes to move somewhwere.

Even so, he's still my fave Captain!

Believe it or not I did a study for a screenplay for The Original Series. There are some serious people out there who spend bundles on making better than average fan films. One particular outfit impressed me so I wrote this:

http://royalmagi.org/endymion.html

It is not completed. Frankly I don't have the time to turn it into a screenplay myself. It's basically in story form at this point. Still I think you'll see my familiarity with the original series, one that sprang from having been a fan of it when it was actually being filmed... ;)

My favorite is Voyager because I fallowed it from beginning to end when I was young (I even kept note of all the episode titles). My favorite captains are Janway, Picard, and Kirk. My favorite character on Voyager is Seven of Nine (I had crush on here once). I love Next Generation and The Original Series. I didn't care much for DS9 or Enterprise.

SoN gets on my nerves; she was hilarious today though. And the episode, "Body and Soul" is a great one of hers; those are the only two I've liked so far that center on SoN.

I think Seven of Nine is an intresting character, afterall she's a reclaimed drone from the Borg. I think It's intresting how she has to to work on fitting in with the rest of the Voyager crew. It's fun watching her develop into a more capable and more understanding human being.

did you see today's Voyager episode about Seven? I loved Chakotay's line,

"Take the Borg out of the collective..." too bad he didn't finish it, but he probably would've said, "but you can't take the collective out of the Borg" lol.

Tom, Harry, and CHakotay are my favorite male members; mainly because Tom is so sarcastic and a lot like Han Solo.

It is sad to see so many of the classic Trek series gone.

RIP James Doohan, DeForest Kelly, Majel Barret Roddenberry. I saw an episode the other day where Kirk was being checked out in sick bay by Bones and Nurse Chapel. I got a sinking feeling when I realized that only one of those three people in the room was still with us. Maybe Scotty now has a staff of real miracle workers, and the laws of physics be hanged.

I was upset when I heard Mrs. Roddenberry passed away on my b-day. :( But I was glad to see that she had a role in the newest film, Star trek XI. The starfleet computer voice won't be the same without her.
