I would love to be Polly from the Magician's Nephew simply because I think her character has one of the most incredible roles in the story; she witnesses the creation of Narnia! Alas, I am probably too old to play her, and I have red hair, so I doubt that could work out for me.

If not Polly than I'd love to be Ramandu's Daughter; Caspian's wife. Marrying Caspian wouldn't exactly be the most difficult trick in the box... ;)

i'd like to play jill but i'm a little too old. but my realistic pick would be the teacher from Prince Caspian. Not his teacher but the one who joins Bacchus and Aslan. Then I would push for my character to be one of the many old friends they see in the Last battle and I would make sure I was in the coronation and setting sail scenes in the Silver Chair. That way I could make it into multiple movies. ;-)

I would audition for Shasta (Prince Cor). The reason being is because I am a lot like him. I am just a guy who feels there is more to his life and is willing to go after it....just like Shasta did. Also, being just as simple minded and as "foolish", as Aravis puts it, I would try to save someone's life if I had the chance. I have a heart of gold, or so I've been told. Besides, I can speak with an English Accent just as if I had lived there. Yes....I'm that good! That's why I would be a great Shasta!!!!

I'd probably audition for one of those unglamorous characters that SOMEBODY has to play. Maybe the navigator on the Dawn Treader, or Governor Gumpus in that same story, or some demi-human minor character in "Magician's Nephew" or "Silver Chair." Ironically, though I was the runt of my high school, I'm too TALL to portray Cornelius in "Prince Caspian"!

I remember when I was a boy, I was already typecast as a character actor. My taller, more athletic friends got to be Zorro, Flash Gordon, etc.--while I would role-play multiple supporting characters, including animals.

What I'm suggesting is in a way a two-edged sword. If no black actors are cast in any Narnian film, those who love to accuse Christians of racism will say that this proves their point; but the same people might ALSO claim that their point was proven if black actors WERE cast. The despicable Philip Pullman has been at the forefront in slandering Mr. Lewis on this score, claiming that having the darker-skinned Calormenes be bad guys is racism. He chooses to forget that the FIRST Narnian villain, Jadis, was both fair-skinned and fair-haired. At any rate, there are scores of beautiful, talented young black and mixed-race actresses who could portray Aravis effectively.

This reminds me of a thought I've had for some time. If it were up to me to cast new characters for Peter Jackson's movie of "The Hobbit," I would cast Michael Clarke Duncan as Beorn.

And while we're on the subject of casting: somehow, some way, I fervently wish that Gillian Norris, the dancer who was the "bad girl" in "Lord of the Dance," would be cast in SOME role. If beauty and sex appeal were electricity, she could power every city on the North American continent. If she proves good enough at speaking, she could be the Green Witch in "The Silver Chair."

If I were to audition for anything in a realistic manner, I'd go for either the teacher who goes with Aslan In Prince Caspian, or with Queen Helen in Magician's Nephew/Last Battle. I could pull off either. I'm American as the day is long, but I lived in Scotland for a bit and visited England and Ireland. I could probably pull off enough of an accent to make it work if necessary.

Doubtful if I'd ever get the chance to audition for one living in the US...but there it is. I can dream.

Umm...well, I could probably play Aravis, but by the time they got to casting HHB, I'd be too old for the part. I could be Gwendolen or maybe one of the Maenads or even a Dryad...although they're not major speaking roles, I still think they'd be pretty cool. I'm too old to play any of the major characters anyway. I guess I could pass as that Fisherdress in VDT that Lucy sees, but she doesn't really do anything...Or perhaps I could do a voiceover for a talking animal or something. That would be awesome.

That's not all Pullman's said. He also says the Narnia books present a horrible view of death--that they seemingly mock the seriousness of it by having the characters die in a train crash at the end of LB. He also says that the view of death presented in the books is a bad influence on children's idea of death, b/c they will be encouraged to explore it and/or not take it seriously, or some sort of crap like that. The whole point of the train crash was to show that even when death comes, and even if it is tragic, there is still hope for a life beyond death, a life of eternal joy in which we are reunited w/ those we love. Tell me, Mr. Pullman, what is so bad about that. Apparently, Pullman has read the books w/ a purely anti-Christian bias and therefore has been blind to the true meaning and message of hope that the books give to readers, regardless of their faith.

The fact that Pullman constantly beats down Christians angers me deeply, and this is why I refuse to read his books.
