OK. I just went and saw the Incredibles last night. What a wonderful movie! Anybody else see this? What are your thoughts?

I am including major spoilers in this, including major events that happened in the movie as this discussion is intended for people who have seen the movie.

I loved all the stereotypical superhero stuff they poked at. The best were the jabs at the villain's monologue-ing and the costume making (no capes).

I also liked how they portrayed the family. The kids weren't smarter and more mature than the parents (like the plane crash sequence in the ocean where the kids start freaking out). It was a good family-first movie.

I'm also glad the MPAA rated it PG. It seems that Disney lots of times gets their stuff rated G just cause they're Disney. The movie didn't have and "bad" stuff that I recall and no swearing, but it was a bit violent in parts. I felt bad because I was laughing my head off when the badguy died. If anybody had come in the theater at that part, they would have thought it was a horrible movie because we were all laughing then, but it was because of the whole cape thing they had mentioned before.

Anyway, those are my thoughts.

Loved it, and even caught a lot of the Star Wars references in it, and everything. Well done!

I loved it! Such a great movie, pixar is great! I know, I was like it's terrible were laughing and he's dying ,but the cape thing was hysterical. The family dynamics were great, very postitive, unlike most movies today. I read someting at pluggedin.com about how the movie makers weren't directing the film at children. It was interesting. It was nice to see a good movie that was funny without being crude, or gross, and a movie who's violence wasn't over the top! Well in my opinion anyway. I really enjoyed it, it's one I will have to own! :D

Yes, and if I recall, nobody (in the movie) farted. I hate fart jokes. They're so cheap and unfunny. The Incredibles actually had clever humor drawing from the superhero genre which is now an established genre of films. I don't think I've laughed so hard or so often in a theater seat of one movie.

And the family dynamic was great. I was going in hoping I wouldn't be hating the children, but they were written in great. And they actually did the feel-good scenes without making you go "oh brother" in your seats.

Oh, and I just ordered the motion picture score online for only $11.33 including shipping. I'm so happy.

I saw it a few days ago. To be honest, I only went because I thought it might have a CoN trailer... it didn't. :( But, hey, the movie was awesome anyway! It was surprisingly mature (in a good way) for a Disney movie. I thought they handled the emotions of the characters very well-- and hooray for plausible bad guy motives!

Over Thanksgiving weekend, I saw it yet again ('cause my family hadn't seen it yet, so I saw it with them)

I think I noticed a little mistake, but you have to do a bit of figuring for it.

Fact 1: Thunderhead (and other supers) attended Mr. Incredible's wedding.
Fact 2: Thunderhead died in 1958 (or some time in the 50's) according to Edna.
Fact 3: The bulk of the movie takes place 15 years after the wedding.

Therefore, if Thunderhead was at the wedding, the wedding took place before 1958 or in 1958 at the latest. Since most of the movie is 15 years after the wedding, the latest date most of the movie takes place in would be 1973. True, some of the cars looked a little classic, and the soundtrack sounded reminiscent of Henry Mancini's spy music of the 60s and 70s.

But there are significant objects in the movie (not taking into account 'super' inventions of course) that had not yet been completely mainstream. Like the personal videocamera and vcr (playback of Dash's class), the personal computer (seen in a cubicle at Mr. Incredible's office). There may be others. Of course, I could be wrong, but that was my initial reaction of those obejects.

Dragon.... Its a movie I know those are annoying but hey give em a break! It was a great movie! But then again you have to be smart to notice those kind of things.... I wonder why I don't notice those? hmmm.

Smart or picky? You decide.

I was just glad that Mr. Incredible called Buddy 'Brody' when they were up in the building toward the beginning. Jason Lee is good fun.

I have to say that my favorite scene out of the entire movie was when Lucius Best (Frozone) is trying to find his super suit and calling to his wife for it. Her responces had me laughing (since she reminds me of myself with my husband).

Or the child's responce (on the tricycle) after the major explosion at the end of the movie.

I loved the Incredibles simply because it was a movie that all of us could actually go see together. My dad and my brother loved all the superhero action, my mom and I loved all the heartwarming family scenes, and all of us loved the humor, because it was funny, but it wasn't gross enough to make us cringe. Yup, The Incredibles is incredible!

My entire family loves The Incredibles. It's a great story, has awesome animation, and has one of the best animated movie musical scores in my opinion. It is, of course, very humorous with plenty of human pain humour and good ol' classic family humour.

"What's the fastest way?"
"Traction Avenue."
"That'll take me downtown. I take 7th, don't I?"
"No, you take Traction."
"We can't take Traction!"
"He's coming up! Get into the right lane! Signal!"
"We can't take Traction..."
"YOU'RE GOING TO MISS IT!"
*Mr. Incredible yells and jerks the van into the exit just in time.*

That little sequence was probably the funniest in the entire movie.

I loved the Incredibles! The only annoying thing was that red-headed kid, IncrediBoy. *shudders with the memory* I loved Mrs. Incredible. "Mom, you're making funny faces again." "um, no I'm not." "Honey, you can make funny faces at the table." :D
