Lost Boy's Nadia

Nadia’s eyes snapped open and adjusted to the themselves to the darkness. She tried to rub the sleepiness from her eyes as she quietly stepped into the hall leading to her parents bedroom.
Gunfire and screams could be heard outside. Nadia pushed the fear out of her lungs and forced herself to breathe again. Calming herself down a little she called out quietly in the night.
“Mom?” There was no answer.
Nadia screamed as a large and heavy hand weighed down on her shoulder and turned her about almost forcefully…

Okay so I actually started another story for my fans!
I have to explain a little bit though. Nadia means Hope and that kind of plays into the story.
Now I think I said (stupidly) Somewhere else that this was based in Suadi Arabia but I MEANT SUDAN. This is about the Civil War, and it's been on my heart a LOT lately and the war over there is STILL going on. So with that said... I'll write more later.

"Forgive me, Nadia, I should have warned you I was here." Said a strong voice.
"Matthew?" Nadia said staring up at her older friend. "I... I'm glad you are safe. My parents, My dad always knows what to do."
"No Nadia, I have spoken with your father, he has given me instruction, and you are to come with me."
"What? Where? Why? Where are my parents?" Nadia was confused and now worried.
"There is no time Nadia, Noe go and get your pack." Matthew sounded a bit forceful and Nadia did not hesitate. She ran into her room and crossed the window cautiously but quickly. She opened her closet door and grabbed the pack from the floor. Her father had told everyone in the neighborhood that readiness was a kkey to staying safe in the war of Sudan.
In the past few weeks Nadia had noticed things changing. Everything became more and more serious. She was aware of the dangers of missionary work, and she was aware of how much more dangerous mission work in Sudan was, with the war going on. But her father had chosen a secluded place and hoped that the war would not come to them for much longer.
That had not been a succesfull hope. The war had been moving very quickly in their direction and Nadia knew that her father had a plan, but now she was worried.
Nadia froze when she saw a blast of fire fly through her window. She was thrown back against the wall and her room was engulfed in flame!

LOL, sorry to leave you hangin' guys, I'm retyping this out of an old notebook (never finished the story) and editing as I go, so it takes me longer and life has been super busy lately, so thank you for your compliments and please bare with me. LOL ok, as for more story...

"Nadia, Are you hurt?" Matthew yelled over the sound of the roaring fire.
"No." Nadia said rubbing her head and getting to her feet. "I can't get out." She looked about and around the flames and found the silhoette of her tall blacj sudanese friend.
"Wrap a blanket around yourself and run." Matthew suggested.
Nadia pulled a sheet off her bed and wrapped it losely around her body, picked up her pack again and ran head on through the flames. The sheet quickly caught fire but Matthew snatched it by a carner and threw it back into the fire.
"You are not hurt?" He asked.
"No, I'm fine." Nadia said in a rather sad voice. She was only now beginning to see through her fear, what was happening. Something was terribly wrong. And she was starting to understand everythinga little bit better.
"We must go." Matthew pushed on, trying to turn Nadia away from the burning house. She had lived there for nearly three and a half years. It was her home and shelter in the new worl of Sudan. Ever since she had been there in the village this home was there, as her missionary father came ahead to build it.
When Matthew and Nadia started onto the streets Matthew pulled her in closer. You must remain calm or someone will suspect..." He stopped, "Do not look around." He said sadly. "Watch only your feet." Nadia looked up into his face and tears were shining in his eyes. Nadia looked down at her feet and let Matthew's strong arm guide her. He tried to take her on the cleanest part of the roads but bodies were laying every which way. Burned, battered, and bloody.
Nadia had no wish to see the murdered and it lay heavy on her heart as she prayed for the dead whom she knew she had probably once met and come to love.
The vision of her poorly shod feet was bured heavily with tears as she stepped over a puddle of blood.
The sound of sudden broken glass caught Nadia's attention and she looked up and over in the direction of the sound.
A large group of armed men pushed a small group of prisoners. Nadia gasped and yelled out before thinking. "Mom, Dad!" Matthew looked back at the bruised face of Mr. Clipe, and grabbed Nadia by the arm. Time seemed to freeze and at once Matthew understood the stern look in his Missionary friend's face. The soldiers turned their attention to Nadia. Matthew pulled and urged her on but she tried to get out of his grasp and go the other way. Her mother was crying and her father was yelling and the frozen time was shattered by the sound of loud gunfire...

That whole little conversation was actually really rather funny to read. LOL

Matthew and Nadia were open targets in the middle of the road. Nadia forced her emotions back and ran as fast as she coul. Memories raced through her brain. She remembered four years ago when they first arrived in Kodok, Sudan.
Nadia had to get used to living in a foriegn contry, but when she did she was able to help her mother to help the Sudanese people to provide for themselves and how to read the Bible and understand it. Some of the villages they went to were already converted Christians and some were not. Nadia really appreciated that help came before preaching. She knew a lot of "in-your-face" "preachy" people back in Georgia but her father was nothing like that. And now she was watching as her parents were being taken away as prisoners and she and Mattew were running from death because of their faith in God. Nadia had realised that living in Sudan had made her very thankful for the freedoms she had back in America.
Everything had changed so much since Nadia and her family moved to Kodok, and Nadia had never seen much less been in a war before. She was convinced that she was about to die. Gunfire drowned out all other sounds until gunshots from ahead sounded even louder. Nadia stopped breathing a fraze. How were they going to servive such crossfire?
"Nadia, keep running! They aren't aiming for us!" Matthew yelled pulling her forward by the arm.
"This way!" He ahouted over the loud noises of gun fire.
"Are we going to die?" Nadia said, rather entransed.
"No we are not.: Matthew said, detirmined. He lead her unto an opening in the thick brush and there they found Nomad (Nisha's Brother who was a friend of Nadia's) and all of his rebel friends.
Nadia recognized the faces of other Sudanese refugees hiding there in the dark.
"Nadia, you are safe now." Nomads white teeth shown bright against his dark skin. Nadia sighed her relief...

I'm sorry that's all I can give right now but my sister wants on the computer and she's been really mad at me lately for these tiny little things and she has the power to make my entire family mad at me which isn't fun and so I'm just going to leave now... Sorry.

Cool! Don't missinterpret (sp) my last post sisters can be great but lately family life has been... difficult. I'm sure it's just stress and a feeling of... just tenseness.
But yeah, Nadia is a GREAT name, you know this already I'm sure but it means hope.

About the trailor? Wow, See the thing is, my friend who would play Danni doesn't really look like her and I'm still deciding whether or not I want to change her looks completely and then there is casting Will, his character is so perfect it's hard to find someone who will play him but I have these cool sound effect CDs and we recently got a new camera but I'm going have to bring everything down to a more realistic scale. I'll have to see what I can do and of course it will take me a long while to write out the script and cast everyone and then to set up days and actually shoot it. The editing I can do on my own time and I even have some music I can use... hmm... I'm going to go think about this alone in my room with my Narnia soundtrack and a pen and paper...

oo sounds super exciting!!!! ya... written its a lot easier because your imagination can take over but it might be costly and hard to actually picture it with real people and real props......if that makes sense...im writing, or attempting to at least, to write a book. if i ever got it turned into a movie i would end up not liking it because i have the images in my head but i dont think they actually exist........

LOL, no I understand. Being the writer and director I tend to want things perfect and Danni isn't too much of a problem but casting the PERFECT guy is a challenge.

LOL, wow thanks! Everyone says it's really pretty and I'll be spending a few more days than two weeks there by myself with one of my best friends. (Wich sounds like a contradictions... but... oh well.) Anyway I'll be rooming with a friend of NINE years and taking private voice lessons, music theory, choir, Studio tachnology, and... something else I can't remember... PLUS on the weekends they take you to places like 6 flags, the Atlanta mall and things of the sort.
I'm so happy I was accepted and I can't waut, but pray for me, I have like 1600 dollars to earn!!!

Wow, thanks for the compliment! My real name is Nadia. I like it too. ;) I didn't know it meant hope for a while, but since I found out I also like to call myself the elvish word for hope:Estel. I like the story as well. It's a cool idea. I can come up with ideas for some of my stories that I think would be cool, but I sometimes get stuck revising them and revising them before I ever put them on paper, until I don't like them all that much. Well we were going down this bike trail and it was down hill! AND it ends abruptly so we went down it yesterday and I fell but it wasn't too bad and so We went back today so I could do it without falling and I did fine because I went slower, well, then I got cocky and went even faster than the first time and so at the end where it stops I jumped to the side and missed the grass and slid into a rock quary type thing... I got the wind knocked out of me and bloodied up my arms pretty bad but hey... I'm fine! :D LOL

here's where we left off...

"Are we going to die?" Nadia said, rather entransed.
"No we are not.: Matthew said, detirmined. He lead her unto an opening in the thick brush and there they found Nomad (Nisha's Brother who was a friend of Nadia's) and all of his rebel friends.
Nadia recognized the faces of other Sudanese refugees hiding there in the dark.
"Nadia, you are safe now." Nomads white teeth shown bright against his dark skin. Nadia sighed her relief...
"And your sister, Nisha?" Nadia asked with hope that her friend was safe.
"She is in hiding and will soon be at the North Bend refugee camp. It's about five miles from here. Matthew will take you there and you will be able to see her soon."
"What about you?"
"I must find you later. My place is here now. There are others who are not yet safe."
"My parents?! We're going to rescue them!"
"No, Nadia." Matthew cut in sternly. "WE are going to the refugee camp. I believe you have met Dosha and Bali, the others you are more aquainted with. We must ALL get to the refugee camp."
Nadia looked at her knees dissapointed but when she caught a reassuring smile from Nomad she concented to going with Matthew.

Nadia oke up in twilight. She got to her feet and looked around. There were tents and fires everywhere.
"They wont stop. This is it, the big war, the time to stand and fight for our freedoms. You know it's what you want." Nomad was saying. Nadia walked closer and listened in for a while.
"You know my heart in this situation, Nomad, but I have responsibilities... so do you, I made a promise and..." Matthew stopped when he saw Nadia.
"Nadia. Come sit with us."
"Where is Nisha?" She asked Nomad.
"She is safe, resting." He answered leaning his head in the direction of a tent behind him.
"Listen." Nomad went on, talking to Matthew. "Three other refugee camps were raided and burned, just south of here. We cannot stay."
"Then what do you siggest we do from here. The Americans will lend us aid."
"They will drop packages and a few missionaries might come, but we can't count on them. There are not enough. We have to act, now."
"What are your plans?" Matthew said, becoming very grave.
"I and my troops will stand and fight as long as we can, to give more time. You are to take Nadia, Nisha, Alibad, Sandir, and Cronshin to the North Reem. Other's will meet you there and you can make your way as far from here as possible. Alibad and Dansir are tained and not afraid to fight and protect. Cronshin is learning and will be ready to test his skills."
"Wait!" Nadia broke in angrily. "What about my parents! And Nomad, what about you? Nisha needs you."
Nomad looked into the fire and Mattew just put a hand on Nadia's shoulder, to comfort her.

Thanks... I wish I could be as good of an updater as DAFE but I'm not... I've been extremely busy lately with school and worship and co-op and voice and I'm singing at church this Sunday so I have to practice, but I'll see if I can't get an update soon.

Oh thank you. Actually my Easter song WAS better than I USUALLY do IN PUBLIC... But there is REALLY bad weather and tornado warnings coming our way so I have to go... please be praying.

EDIT:! Sorry, I had to leave so sudden;y but I needed to see the news. The weather is fine now but it got pretty nastly there for a minute.

My singing in public is NEVER quite as good as in practice, but with every aportunity I get better so the more I do it, the better I will become.

Thanks guys... The weather is just crazy... it's because of warm fronts and cool fronts getting mixed up with each other. The Tornados weren't near us, now it's just kinda rainy...
Anyway, I haven't been feeling too great so I'm not sure when I'll be able to update Nadia, (I don't know where I'm going with this story.) But I am having fun with The Wrong War so that thread is more likely to be updated than this one. (BUT I'm NOT giving up... not yet.)
