ok, so do you guys think that they will make that one into a movie? i really hope the do, cuz it's my fav book in the whole series! My dad doesn't think that they will make it because the Calormens have dark skin and all of them except for Aravis are the bad guys. He thinks they wouldn't make it cuz hollywood has to be careful about not making racial movies... but i hope they make it anyway. Not like i don't care about racism, I DO! But i hope they can make it in a way so that it doesn't offend ppl, yet still stays close to the book. One of my other narnia-obessed friends doesn't think they'll make it because it would be more of a comedy - with the talking horses being prominent characters in the story. Yet, the beavers and aslan were in this movie, and i think most people could get used to the fact that the horses talk.
what do y'all think?

If Disney thinks there's money there they will make it. They don't necissaraly have to use an all dark skined cast for the Calormenians, they jst need turbans and beards. Why a comedy? If the movie is done properly then the audiance will hardly notice that fact that the horses shouldn't be talking. Besides, by the time this one is released LWW, PC, SC, and VDT will have already been out, the audiance will come in expecting talking animals and wount really be trown of by Bree and Hwin.

if Ridley Scott can get away with Kingdom of Heaven, in terms of the racial aspect, then why should't the Horse and his Boy. Just put the Calormenes as the Arabs and the Narnians as the citizens of Jerusalem(am i sensing a little irony here  ). It would come across as the same thing with a happy ending and Christian meaning... Heck yeah! Call Walden media and let's get this party started :D

even if they do make it, it prolly won't be for a while. After this (assuming they make them all) they'll make prince caspian, then the voyage of the dawn treader, then the silver chair, then the last battle. I don't know which of the other two they'd make next... they might make the magician's nephew next before tilda gets too old to look younger (no wait. she eats the apple so she leves forever so she sould be the same age as in LLW), but that could also be the case for the horse and his boy (supposing they use sophie winkleman and mark wells again as susan and edmund.) walden media and disney'd better get a move on it! i really don't want to be like 40 when the last one comes out. ha ha. actually i'll be like 26 or 27 when the last one comes out... if it takes 2 year for each movie, give or take a lil'. :)

i can imagine folks thinking carlormen is a playoff of muslims, or al quaida or whatever. but its not, and if you do everything/omit to do everything out of fear for hurting people, you'll get no where.
you cant please everyone and end up making an awesome movie. if you're going to go all out and faithfully film C S Lewis' books, you shouldn't worry about being politically correct, just Lewis correct.
i really really hope they make all the books.

I actually don't think that there will be a problem with making HHB. For starters it is seen as more of a Fantasy than it is based in the real world. Secondly, movies such as Hidalgo (with Viggo Mortisen) and Kingdom of Heaven have portrayed the Arab world without becomming controversial or offensive.

Besides, with Aravis, it'll show how even Calormenes are enchanted with the neighboring world of Narnia, not just a group of antagonists.

This is my least favorite book out of all the Narnia books!! And plus, the main characters are not in it, or at least that much!! It is more about Shasta!! I think that they should skip that book and make a movie of Prince Caspian, where all of the Pevensies are in it!!
