Thank you! Yeah they are great I saw them live during the summer, it was an amazing show.
Sweet! I also saw them recently-they came to my school (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo) in November. I actually got a chance to talk to Matt Hoopes (their guitar player who's been with them since the band played in their high school youth group :) ) before their show. They rocked so hard, and they still manage to speak Christian truth even though they have become so world-reknowned :)

WOW! You met him, that's so amazing! What'd he say? Was he nice? Haha that's so cool, I would love to meet them all someday. Me too, it's really hard for people to stay true to their Christian values nowadays so I really respect them. You're lucky!

Sweet, dude. That's awesome. Did you get to meet the guys too? I guess the only two guys left from the original band are matt thiesson and matt hoopes. I'll bet they have improved since then, they have certainly undergone quite a bit of change since they released their self-titled cd 6 years ago :)

They were the cool teenagers who sat in the pew in front of me at church ;)
Mom would never let me wear my chucks to church, so I could never be as cool as them. ;)
Marva Hoopes (Matt's mum) taught my Sunday school class for a few years, Matt's Aunt is my mum's best friend.. ect.
Did I know them personally? What teenager would want to hang out with a 5th grader... at church.... :p
I thought they were cool, but I never knew that someday I would be their age and be buying their latest CD... and like it
-Austin
By the way, we are having a financial series about getting out of debt at my church. The guys at church who know Matt T. (actually know him, not just of him) called him to see if he could come and sing “Be My Escape” for the church (It was already planned to have it sung, but just not by him). It turned out he couldn’t because he was in Idaho but whatever, that would have been cool. :D

Wow, that's so cool! I'm so jealous ;). I really admire and respect them for their music and for the consistent Christian truth they sing about. I got a chance to talk to Matt Hoopes when they came to play at my school (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo) in november, and he seemed like a really cool, humble person and I totally wish them all the best :)

Has anyone heard of Wade Joye or Cloud by Day?
Wade Joye used to go to my church, and now he has a band. And I'm not sure if it's "Joye" or "Joy", but it sounds the same.
And Cloud by Day comes and plays at our church for youth retreats and other things we have. They're really good.

I'm a huge Christian music fan. That's pretty much the only thing I listen to (there are maybe 1 or 2 secular bands I keep up with still, but all the rest are Christian) I'm even going to school right now for journalism so I can work in the Christian music industry (like marketing, promoting, etc.)
I've posted this before in another thread about Christian music but here are some artists I listen too....of course this isn't all of them. Only what I can think of off the top of my head right now:
Jennifer Knapp
Jars of Clay
Third Day
Matthew West
Andrew Peterson
Tara Leigh Cobble (local Christian indie artist, you probably haven't heard of her)
Newsboys
Jeff Anderson
David Crowder Band
Jadon Lavik
Jeremy Camp
Todd Agnew
and then there are tons of Southern Gospel groups that I like as well.

There's a fellow who I do believe is the greatest guitarist in the world (if you see him live you would have a hard time arguing with that title), Christian artist Phil Keaggy.
Phil Keaggy is a little older now, but more of a musical genius with every album. He sings a lot like Paul McCartney and plays guitar like some sort of Supernatural being. He has several vocal CD's and quite a few instrumental CD's...and get this...he writes all his music and most of his lyrics. He also is incredibly eclectic, sounding one moment like the Beatles, another like a Celtic band, another like a spanish classical guitarist, another like hard rock...and so on.
Phil Keaggy does a lot of collaboration and can be found on "City on the Hill" titles. He has worked with nearly every major Christian artist at one time or another, and is almost revered among Christian artists themselves.
http://www.kweevak.com/img_art_pics/phil_keaggy_01.jpg
And best of all, his instrumental CD "Beyond Nature" is dedicated to C.S. Lewis.

Sooo...I'm gonna have to go with most of those up there. I'm a HUGE Newsboys and Reliant K fan. I used to work in a coffee shop in Texas and when Reliant K was first starting out they came and played there. So, I've been a huge fan since like...the beginning of time. LoL
Eisley (http://eisley.com/) isn't really a "Christian" band but all of it's members are and they are also some awesome people who I've had the priviledge of meeting and hangin' out with before they were "big"
To add to this wonderful array of christian singers I would have to say Paul Baloche, Jim n Dee Patton (http://jimndee.com/), and probably Jars of Clay. XD

yeah i love relient k, out of eden, natalie grant, kj52, superchick, etc.
I believe Christian music is better, because it lifts me up and gives me hope and encouragement rather than depressing me and pushing me down. For every music style, there is a Christian alternate to replace it.

I totally agree with you! I listened to Christian music for most of my life. Just recently I went through a really rough point in my life where I went totally gung ho for the world. During that time all I ever listened to was secular music. I never realized how depressed it made me until I got my life back together and started listening to Christian music again and saw the difference. ..the same goes for Godly friends, believe it or not. Could anyone recommend any Christian new age artists of the pop genre? My aunt wants some Christian music, as her Church plays much of the more 'fun' stuff, but she doesn't know what to buy! Any suggestions? That way, I might have something to get her for her birthday (she's a pain to buy for...)
If not, thanks anyway!
