Narnians escape Jadis walk south

This anoyed me the beasts and narnians say they have not seen a human for years upon years but if one walked south a bit they`d come to archland or if they went a bit further south they`d find calorman and be rid of the white witch whats the deal :confused:

first off, Calormen and Archenland did not exist in Lewis's mind when LWW was written. Second of all, we all know that unless they all went to Archenland they would have been subjected to God know's what torture or humilitation in Calormen or Telmar. Basically, although the White Witch ruled with an iron fist, they were still relatively safe in Narnia

Well, he didn't. He fully expected to only right the LWW, but then he added PC, thought that was the end, then wrote VDT and again thought he was finished. It wasn't untill he started HHB that he thought of the others. So you can't blame him for some inconsistancy.

Maybe the Witch stopped up the border with Archenland and/or the winter made the passes unpassable. The fact that Tumnus didn't even believe that Men existed indicates that all commerce between Narnia and other lands had been stopped during the winter.

Interesting point about Calormen and Archenland. I didn't think about that...but maybe the Archenlandians(eh...Archenlandites??) didn't have much military power to try to stomp Jadis w/...assuming she hadn't scared them off, or the long winter hadn't stopped up the passage. As for Calormen, Narnians WOULDN'T wanna go there because the Calormenes are both suspicious and afraid of Aslan and Narnia, and probably wouldn't wanna touch Jadis w/ a 200 yd pole :D .

Telmar is West of Narnia past the Caldron Pool :D . The Calormenes are descendants of the men who lived @ Telmar, they were wicked,and I think Aslan turned the majority of them into rabbits.
