Here it is, once again. Round two of the attempt to post the most random/off topic and off the wall threads.
I would like to start this next round by adding that I am posting this from my Playstation 2. Yeah, I finally booted her up again to be my new ftp server. actually, this is just a test, making sure everything is hunky doory.
On that same note, I don't like Coke as much as Dr. Pepper.

 Forum... rules? There are rules here? I always thought we were a... a kind of loosely-formed... darn, what's that word? Not atheism, not aristocracy, not antelope... starts with an a... means no government... aparthied? No, that can't be it... darn, what is that word?!?!?! I know this word, I know I do! I studied it in civics and it's got that a-in-a-circle symbol and it's that part in Civilization Three where smoke comes out of the tops of all your cities and nothing gets done till you re-establish the government... ANARCHY! Yes! That's the word! :D *does a happy dance* *hits Theoden with Savvedro's hammer*

you didn't really think that we'd let you say just anything now did you? This is a Christian oriented site. you also have real government laws that could take this place down if broken Plus, once this place has around 1000 members, you will LOVE rules.. you'll realize why you can't run a board without them.

I know, I know, I was just jokin'... some of those huge sites have tons of rules. Like BionicleZonePower. Gets dozens of new members an hour and has the strictest rules ever. They ban you for the littlest things... but that's because they're run by the enforcement-happy Vakhi who are under the leadership of Turaga Dume, who is really just an imposter and a puppet in the hands of MAKUTA LORD OF SHADOWS!!! ARRGH!
But back to randomness:
As many of you know, I am obsessed with Myst/D'ni. Now, many people would say this has nothing to do with Narnia whatsoever, but they're WRONG! I have found a connection! :D In Uru: Ages Beyond Myst, you live on this little island in the clouds called Relto. On Relto is a tiny hut, that is mostly empty when you first come to it save for a couple of empty bookshelves and perhaps a dead bluebottle fly on the windowsill. The only other piece of furniture in the room is a rather large, distinctly non-D'ni, European-style wardrobe. You use this wardrobe to change your avatar's clothes by opening it up and walking into it. While the wardrobe screen is loading, the words at the bottom say "Linking to Wardrobe," the same way they say "Linking to Teledahn" or "Linking to Ae'gura" when you're travelling to another world. And in The Manhole, another game by Cyan, there is already a huge Narnia easter egg.
B) I think it's fair to say that the Miller brothers have a soft spot for LWW, don't you?

Random thought#3:
The other day my friend George and I went out taking pictures of a skunk that lives near our dorm. George was getting close and almost got sprayed as I kept my distance not knowing whether I should videotape the skunk or him. I got a very entertaining video from this experience.

GTA3 (http://www.rockstargames.com/grandtheftauto3/) is a game.
I drink Dr. Pepper (http://www.drpepper.com/dp/html/index.html) because I LOVE it. It's the most wonderful tasting drink in the world. It's almost as good as Bawls (http://www.bawls.com). But not quite.
I believe that we were put here on this earth to fullfil God's will. What is His will for you? Well I certianly don't know, so you should ask Him.
I definatly don't know the meaning of life. God knows though.
The sky is blue because thats just how God made it. What other color would you have it be?
I don't know about your last question, maybe because your "special (http://www.specialkids1.com/)" ?

Tried to butter my cat, got scratched five times in the prossess, cat ran away and licked the butter off with help from my other cat, both cats showed up and scratched me again, decided that man was just not meant to know the results of buttering a cat.

Okay, your old siggie with the "Cinderella Story" quote in it was scary enough, but now the Duffness is startin' to scare me... and my non-buttered cat.
On the subject of buttered cats, if the cat did in fact stop and hover a foot above the ground, spinning in a never-ending spin cycle of doom, would we be able to harness this energy to provide a new, virtually inexhaustible, and environmentally-friendly source of electricity?
GrayCloak
10-01-2004, 08:05 PM

Vampires are more cool and relaxed. They got the whole living dead thing going; They're bad all the time, sucking blood, etc. Werewolfsare bad about once a month, and all during the day of when the moon is going to be full they're always saying "Lock me up! Lock me up! Don't let me escape!" wereas vampires tend not to care. I really don't know which one I like better though.

That depends on what mythos your going on. On the popular 'Wolf man' genra, then ya once a moth when the wolf bane blooms the guy turns into the wer-wolf whether he likes it or not. However in the older mythologies becoming a wer-wolf was a choice (usually done by worlocks and sorcerers) and you really have to be evil to become one. (There is a whole ritual involved that includes drinking blood  ) And you can turn into a wolf whenever you want, you're power is just at its peak during the full-moon.
Well that was more info than anyone needed, I'll be quiet now....

Well Gray, as you seem to be resident were-wolf expert all my future questions shall be forwarded to you...but ,seeing as this is a CoN based site, don't you see the link between the were-wolf thing and Rillian's enchantment? That depends on what mythos your going on. On the popular 'Wolf man' genra, then ya once a moth when the wolf bane blooms the guy turns into the wer-wolf whether he likes it or not.
Yeah. That's the one I'm talking about. More Wolf Man than werewolf. Like in the Lon Cheney movies, where the werewolf can see the pentagram sign in the hand of his next victim, which is traditionally the person he cares about the most.
"Even a man who is pure of heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms, and the autumn moon is bright." I've always loved the rhythm of that poem. Has an almost romantic sound to it, if it wasn't about people turning to monsters.
I personally like the mythos of the classic Univeral Studios Lon Cheney Wolf Man better than the Dracula one (and I'm more interested in it than the older myths). Dracula is a "cooler" badguy, but Lon Cheney made the Wolf Man so terribly tragic, I'm tempted voting for werewolfs. (still haven't voted yet.)

Lou,
Your friend sounds crazy maybe you should stay away from him/her. (Only funny because that was *exactly* what I was doing last Sunday. :D )
Side note: The wer-wolf character who bites Caspian in PC is from the older mythos. Sorry just read that yesterday and found it interesting...

I apologize for using that blaspheming movie as referance, (so many plot holes...so many betrayals of mythos...but he had a really cool hat....)
The question is, since Dracula can control wolves, does a wer-wolf count, or does it have free will. If it's not under Dracula's power, then the vampire would be dead, no question.
Are we talking about the 'leather clad' new generation vampires, that have abandoned the ancient rules of the undead? The (wonderful) Bela Lagosi Dracula, as well as the Christopher Lee. (with Peter Cushing! :D ) Or the origonal Dracula mythos?
Doesn't matter, wer-wolves rule!

What if your vampires run out of silver! THEN MY WEREWOLVES WILL DESTROY YOU MUHAHAHA!!! also you have to chose whether to be true to the vampire legend or be buffy stile cause buffy style of course the werewolve would win but true legends then no Im sorry but the vampire would win. But if you want to be true to the legend...... WARNING GEEKY USELESS FACT....
vampires have to be staked with a specifec wood type I dont remember it its the same kind of wood jesus was nailed to, but also get out of your head the buffy none sense vampires dont turn to dust like that by staking them in the heart they MUST be destroyed in there coffin also if it comes to vampires fighting werewolves well of course the vampire would win because a werwolf could not kill the vampire!ok I am going to stop now.... So in conclussion not true to the legend probabley werewolf but true to the legend.... vampire.... depends.
Also this is another useless fact. to become a vampire/werewolf it is ALWAYS personal choice you are never forced to become a vampire/werewolfe!!!

W()()t! Love the fedoras (not Linux, Skinner, but the hat...)! I have this one that's really fake (it's made of felt, fuzzy felt, not leather-looking felt), and it's a bit small. TrueCrusauder-Couple of comments.
Staking is not the only way to kill a vampire, they can also be decapitaded and can die of starvation. A Wer-wolf could decapitate a vampire.
You are right though, driving a stake through the heart does not make the creature turn to dust, it must be done in the coffin, and in old mythos it is meant to nail the vampire to its' coffin so it can no longer rise to feast on the living. Also, in the 'old mythos' becoming a vamp/wer-wolf is always a choice, you are right.
And now for another...useless fact....
Traditionally to kill a Vampire you must drive a stake throught the heart (made of either hawthorne or rosewood (i believe)) cut off their head and fill the mouth with garlic. To be safe, a crusifix or rosearry was usully nailed to the coffin as well.
Aragorn-fedoras rule! I'm trying to find a place to buy one....

so after the first few days of 10th grade i decided to quit. now i'm 17 with a GED and a scholarship to Athens Tech which i will be starting pretty soon. after a year of that i will be finishing up my degree in Software Engineering at GA Tech. i can't wait for that. B)

Cuz it wasn't working, and she's pretty much a nmoron, and maybe somebody should edit this post. But only after Skinner's read it.
Anyhow, if I'm gonna get in to West Point, I don't think they'd really like it if I dropped out of school, so, yea. The message to all those impressionalbe kiddies is: "Stay in school!"

I changed the poll
Ok, I ran this poll back in March of this year when we didn't have as many members. So I wanted to run this by our new members and see what you guys think.
Since I've already posted about this, I'm just going to copy what i said:
First let me start my saying how much I hate Superman.
Superman:
1. He's too perfect. There's only ONE way to kill him. I believe that as a species, us human beings define our reality through misery and suffering. The perfect world would dream that his primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from.
2. He's an alien. Not that I don't believe in aliens (because I do) but I would rather depend on a Human super hero than some alien.
3. Costum wise, he's a little bit on the dorky side.
Batman:
1. This guy can die just like any real Human would. Batman's motive is based on a predication, a contingent affirmation that was meant to create a profound attachment to the rest of his species, facilitating the function of Batman.
2. Unlike Superman, Batman has a curse that drives him to fight evil. This curse was created by two bullets that pierced the bodies of his parents. The death of his parents developed a strong form of anger against the unjust criminals. Superman on the other hand, has no motive, no reason to save Humans, he just does it.
3. Bruce Wayne is probly the smartest superhero that I know. Thats why I don't see how Superman could kill him, because information is the most powerfull weapon of all. "Man of Steal" Hmm, did all that steal fill up his brain too? :P
4. One last thing about him: I really love his theme. The black costume, black personality, black everything. He's alot more sophisicated than people make him out to be. Also he has the coolest theme song.
GrayCloak
10-08-2004, 02:03 AM
Ok, no doubt, Batman is the better superhero, but I'm not sure if he could win against Superman if Superman was at full strength. I'm suposing Bruce at some point would have to aquire kyptonite (Gold, or Green) and form it into some kind of weapon. Does he have use of the batplane, or batmobile?
Well, I liked Batman more, and he's way smarter, so I think in the end he would win, but it might be a close call.
(And I'm supposing we're talking comic book Batman, not the one with Adam Wess, right? )
Dragon
10-08-2004, 08:52 AM
Hands down, Batman is the way cooler superhero. As to whether he could beat superman in a one on one, I don't know, but he's way cooler. If I were the writer of the story, Batman would somehow win.

Well thats a debate thats been going on forever, I could write you a book on why i switched, why linux is better (in my opinion), and how i completly stop using windows.
But this is not a tech forum so I'm not going to do that. :) If you used an older version of Linux, you should think about trying out a newer version. So much has changed just in the past years.

The leaked version I suppose is the pc version if it's on the internet right? (Which like with the origonal Halo woudn't be nearly as good as the X-box one.) Not that I'd ever think of dowloading the pirated version or anything....trying to control hand....must not desire stolen Halo II.....

Oh, goody! :D I don't personally play Halo, but I know my brother was in a real downer slump when he heard that Halo II was only coming out for X-Box and not for PC(we don't have an X-Box). But if this version is on the web and therefore on PC, that means that at least they have a PC version.
By the way, have you guys ever seen the clickables in the Strong Bad email entitled "Fingers"? They're creepy. In the shot with SB and SM rockin' in front of the TV, look down behind the couch in the lower right corner of the screen. Strong Sad's severed head?! In the next shot, with SB and Coach Z in the locker room, click on the handle of the locker. It opens, and there's something stuffed inside. Finally, in the shot of Homestar w/arms on the soapbox, click on the right side of the box. It opens too, and something flops out.
Looks like the brothers Chaps were trying to pull a Paul McCartney with Strong Sad.

Or, maybe Strong Sad's just "sad that I'm flying!"
LOL. That was something that 3 of us guys quoted for the entirety of the plane ride to England last summer. It was great!
Andrew, or Me: I'm saaaaad that I'm flying!
Curtis: Oh, don't worry strong sad, it'll be OK!
I have not actually seen this one, but I know those lines backwards and forwards. Does anyone know which "e-mail" it is?
