Who all is going to see this? I am. I am mostly impressed with how well they did Jim's makeup. :o

Oh, I have to see it. My brother used to read those books all the time, and I've read the first three on which they're based. It'll be interesting to see how they make Sunny the bitey little baby that she is in the books. And I love (what I've seen of) Carrey's Olaf!

i've read all of the books except for the last two or three. did you hear he's coming out with a new book? anyway, the movie's gonna combine the first three books, supposedly. who is the kid that plays Klaus? he looks familiar...

I saw the movie today, very good. Pretty close to the books, but I've only read the first 3 so I don't know where the whole spy glass thing comes into play, or if it does at all in later books. Because it wasn't in the first three books. BUt yeah over all I really like the movie! :D

I like Carrey the most in his less zany roles like "The Truman Show" or "The Majestic." I still don't know if I want to see this one or not. I'll just wait until the dvd probably. Unless I can see it for free somehow.

I'm not usually a huge fan of Jim Carrey either, but I loved this movie (and not necessarily because of him, though he definitely did Count Olaf justice). I haven't read any of the books yet, but I can't wait to read them now. Go see this movie! It's worth the five or six bucks at a matinee showing, at least.

interesting, i've wondered, cause i'm just curious as to what the story is like and the backdrop just looks interesting, it entices me a bit with the dark atmosphere i guess. hmm, maybe i'll see it at some point

It's not too bad, though I enjoyed the books more. If you read the unauthorized biography, there's a lot of stuff to get into - secret societies and codes and mysteries - I'm obsessed at the moment.

Well, I've never read the books, but I just got back from seeing the movie for the first time, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't expect to be laughing so hard at parts or to be so in awe of the way it was put together visually as well as storywise. Very well-made movie. I loved the idea of the translation for Sunny at the bottom of the screen. (her reaction to the leeches story had me howling) And of course Jim Carrey is a genius. This movie will be a classic.

I loved the movie! I thought it was kind of weird how they moved some events around, but I really liked in general.

Well... Yeah I loved the books but I loved the movie more. Tear-jerker, man! Tear-jearker! The guy who played Klaus is Liam Aiken from the movie "Good Boy!" And I also like Violet... Emily Browning.

As a movie is was awsome. But as a book adaption it was not too good. The best part and my favorite part is Aunt Josephine. She is so funny. Go Meryl Streep. I sometimes when watching my copy of it will go straight to that part!
