Dreams?

Does God use dreams to answer praryers. I was missing my ex-wife last night and I asked God to give me some relief, and so I had a very realistic dream that I was back with her. It is wired because she is remarried. :(

I think it could be possible, sometimes I dream of people who have died and I still miss them terribley, and even though they won't be there when you awake it's good to have the chance to see thier faces and interact, even on 'another plain'

Dreams can be seen in so many different ways, things that will happen, innner feelings, things that have happened. It's so hard to decide. I'd say that in the case of your dream it's a very real possiblity God was answering your prayers of relief by giving you a dream that is not likely to happen in real life. I don't think all dreams are answered prayers, but some are.

The dog we had for fourteen years (that was older than me) had to be put to sleep about five years ago and every once and a while I get to thinking about her nd that night or the next night I dream about her again. I'd say that's God feeling my loneliness for my dog and bringing her back to me for a night.

I had another dream last night. The crutch of the dream was I was an secret agent in foreign country and my cover was blown, I had to be extracted. And all these commandos were trying to save me. I won't go into details alot of it was just dream and stuff, but it was very hard to save me.

Remember Joseph's dreams were hard to interpret from the story of the dream. It may mean I am in some sort of spiritual warfare.

I have always felt that dreams were an important part of prayer life and spiritual warfare. Lewis thought alot of his dreams it seems. I think a thread sharing our dreams are good in building up God's family and helping to develop the gift of interpretation of dreams. :)

I wish I could contribute something meaningful on this topic. That God speaks through dreams is clearly established through Scripture, and that He speaks to individuals still is a consistent part of Christian teaching. We're warned against any dream interpretation that might draw us into mysticism or occult practices, and the modern versions thereof (i.e. psychoanalytic interpretation) have proven to be folly - telling us more about the attitudes and presuppositions of the analyst than the patient.

Personally, I rarely remember my dreams. Though I know I have them, those I can recall are so prosaic as to not merit remembering. There have been a few, though, that have been seared into my memory. I remember one in particular - it was during a pivotal time in my life, my senior year in high school, when I was facing a lot of changes. I would soon leave my father's home and embark on my own life. God was doing lots of things in my life and I was more aware of His presence than I had ever been before. The desire to serve Him with my whole life was growing in my heart. In the midst of these turbulent times came a dream.

The circumstances were quite ordinary - I dreamed I was standing in my bedroom beside a bookcase on which stood a small lamp. This was the ordinary furniture of my room, except that in my dream, the lamp - no more than three feet from where I was standing - was burning with an extraordinary brightness. In my dream I thought, "that certainly isn't an ordinary lightbulb - it's far too bright for that!" I found I couldn't look at the light, and then realized how grateful I was that the lampshade was there to shield me from that light source, for I knew that I wouldn't be able to bear that light directly. Then a voice came, right from the center of the light. I could make out no words - it was as if the voice was speaking a foreign language - but it was deep and powerful and unquestionably directed at me. I was literally frozen with terror - but not the terror that feared peril, but terror of the greatness of that light and voice. I knew it would unmake me if I were not protected from it. In my dream I went totally rigid with awe, my arms folded on my chest like a dead man's, and I fell forward onto my face, stiff as a board. When I hit the ground, I woke with a start to find everything in my room ordinary and typical. I've never had another dream like it, but I've never forgotten that one.

I believe that dreams can be sent by God. In the bible God gave them dreams telling them of the future ect. Like Joseph the dreams of how ths stars and the moon and sun bowed down to him,God sent him that dream indicating what Joseph's future is.
So i beleive that dreams are very important and that alot of dreams are from God. He sends us meaningufl dreams. I dont know how else to explain:o in my opinion.

Yes ive had that before too Rosy, ive had a dream where im talking with my Granparents, even thouhg they've been long gone. It was good just to see them again you know?

Yes ive had that before too Rosy, ive had a dream where im talking with my Granparents, even thouhg they've been long gone. It was good just to see them again you know?
I've had dreams of died family. I ususally know they are died in the dream, and I question them why they are appearing to me. I'm not always sure God is involve in that. One of the reasons I ususally do my prayers at night rather than the normal morning time for evangelicals is so I might be open to dreams from God as anwers. Most protestant ,that don't stress spiritual gifts, seem to avoid nightly prayers. They seem to like morning time. Maybe it is the old protestant work ethic of avoiding slothliness (is that a word?), and wasting time interpretating dreams. But I'm not a normnal protestant. :)
Well I didn't remember my drean last night or wake up troubled. That's normal for me also. But that is why I started this thread so if you have a dream and you want follow up on if it is from God you might share it.

wow, thats really sad about your wife dude, God answers prayers in alot of ways and dreams are a way that God talks to his people. I really want to be my best friend's girl (shh, no telling) and one night dreamed that it actually happened. Dreams are what i like to think of as brain poo. The things you dwell on during the day end up in your dreams. By the way, Princess Bride is the best 80's fantasy there ever was... The book wasnt as good but oh well. Perhaps God has another "Buttercup" in mind for you, you never know. ;)

Here is something wired about that dream about my Ex-wife a few days ago. Now I hear that she is coming to Vegas next month for her nephew's wedding. So it looks like I am goning to see she. Just so you understand she now lives in Georgia, and her nephew who is in the military just decides to get married in Vegas.

Had a dream that I lived back at home in California and my parents were still alive. I was still planning to move to Utah. It was like my life in Nevada never occured. It was just a dream I not sure it meant anything.

I had a weird dream
We were at my cottage and we were in the screen room, a lady was there and i didnt know her, one of my sisters was there and the guy i love was there two we were talking and in my dream my back was really hurting, anyways then all the sudden men with burlap bags over there heads were at the screen room and ordered out in the woods and they were going to behead us and i was praying to God and what not, then i woke up my arm was twisted and my back hurt, since my arm was twisted in a odd way my back was hurting, so i untangled my arm lol and my back pain went away.

Recently ive been having dreams about the boy i love and no they arent gross dreams, just strange ones that we'd give eachother hints and stuff about both of us liking eachother. i dunno weird lol :o :rolleyes:

Do you feel other people that are important to you approve to you relationship with this boy, or is he having problems with others about seeing you. If you don't resolve this confict you will always share your deepest love between this man if you ever marry and friends or family. And it will be a major pain in the back for you marriage (or the important pillar of you marriage).

I know you aren't old enough to marry. And you may be just moving to fast in your relationship and you feeling the fear of going to fast and hurting your family. You see when you get into a realtionship it must be at a time when you can give your heart over completely. Your family, friends, jobs, habits, everything is second. And your still very young and need to know that.

i have had the same experience rosy my grand father has died during rita and i had a dream about two nights ago that i was in the hospital with them visting but this was no ordinary visit i guess you could say i had an extra "sense" i could see everyone's Gaurdian angel and my grandparents already had their wings... so i guess i was seeing them again but just as my gaurdian angels and they were just as i rembered them the last time i seen them together what kinda creeped me out :eek: was that i can continue this dream and seem to be doing just that *?subconcisously?* and its starting to make me see life in a whole new way ... if this has happend to you i would like to know that i am not alone ...

Last night I had a funky dream.
All of my life, I felt that I can become someone really big in society, like and actor or something. Anyway, my dream was that I was flying. I was flying like a SuperHero would and I would visit all of the countries of the world. I would visit different people, places and things. It was way cool, but it was kind of heart-breaking when it was over. I actually felt like I can make a difference in the world and in people's lives while I was dreaming. Now that I'm awake, I still feel the same.....like I am a nobody.

I dont know if this is exactly the same thing but...I sometimes have dreams about doing things...like helping at the orphans in romania warehouse, and then when I wake up I forget the dream and dont remember it till I go to the warehouse (or whatever in the dream was happening) starts to happen, then it all comes back, I will dream down to the what is said what will happen, sometimes it scares me....
