cast list:
Jessica Alba .... Susan Storm/The Invisible Girl
Michael Chiklis .... Ben Grimm/The Thing
Chris Evans .... Johnny Storm/The Human Torch
Ioan Gruffudd .... Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic
Julian McMahon .... Doctor Doom
directed by Tim Story (Barbershop)
i think Michael Chiklis as The Thing is an inspired choice :), and i saw a photo of the guy who'll play the Human Torch, he fits the part. the guy whi plays Reed Richards i was hoping would be a little older, but otherwise looks good in the role as well.
the one that i didnt like at all was Jessica Alba as Sue Richards (or her pre-maried state, Susan Storm). with all due respects to Jessica's kick-butt abilities, she simply doesnt fit the role
i'm willing to give this film a chance, but i'm starting to get a funny feeling this is going to turn out to be more like DareDevil than Spiderman.

Wow! I have a friend who would kill to have those - his are all busted up from continual reading. :D
I'm certainly looking forward to the movie; I've been waiting forever to see 'Fantastic Four' made into a film - Now I just need someone to take me...

I always waited for a movie, but this just doesn't seem up to par. It seems like i need to base everything on quality compared to the new batman, which i sincerely believe is the best comic book movie ever.

PS i've said it somewhere else, but its going to be a rental for me

I can't wait to see it and anyone who says Jessica Alba is not right for the part will have to fight MR. Stick....she rocks...even TG will agree with me on this point

Just came back from seeing the movie. Good movie but not the best comic book movie. (definitely not a 'Batman Begins'). It's worth seeing.. :)

Here's how I would rank the best (of the recent) superhero movies so far...
1. Batman Begins
2. Spider-man 2
3. The Incredibles
4. Spider-man
5. X2
6. Fantastic Four
7. X-men
It was pretty enjoyable, but it was lacking in a number of areas. I didn't think the villain was very intriguing. I like it when they have more "interesting" evil plans I guess. But that doesn't make me not like the movie.
Overall, it'll pretty much be there to fill up the super-hero section of my dvds, but nothing really special or amazingly powerful here. If you're into the whole superhero movie craze (which I'm enjoying) then this is a pretty good addition. With its flaws, I definitely didn't feel I wasted my time by seeing it.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty good. Dr. Doom is far more intriguing in the comics though. Way smarter than he was in this movie. I think if they did a sequel it would have to have Galactus as the villain.

wow man, i would have thought that the first x-men would have been higher, as i think those have been the best right under batman. I'm probably a bigger spiderman fan myself, but the movies after seeing batman, just seem to suck to me now. I don't know what it is though. I guess i'm liking tobey maquire less and less

Well, at least there's one more Spiderman to change the opinion, eh?
I really have to watch Batman...its like that SW thread we had up, I couldn't read it cause I had nooooooooooooo idea what was going on. Batman is now on my "HAVE TO SEE NO MATTER WHAT" list, after Narnia :D

Yeah a Fantastic Four sequel would be very nice with Galactus. There's a whole bunch of comic book movies coming out and I read that there might be a Silver Surfer movie in the talks with Galactus included. here's the site...

Dragon, i agree with your list.
I hope they make more good comic book movies. I'd rather have one movie like Batman Begins than a hundred like Daredevil. *shudders* that movie was a joke.
They need the Blob as a villian!

It seemed like in the movie all his energies were in trying to make his voice sound like a badguy.
