We were wondering if anyone knew where this is. In the one scene when they are on the train it appears that they are looking up at a big stone bridge with very high legs. We thought it looked like one we had seen in the Isle of Man but that didn't seem to be one of the locations so we were wondering where it was...

oh no its not...

The location for some of the railway scenes was the Severn Valley Railway, a 16 mile steam railway running between Kidderminster in Worcestershire and Bridgnorth in Shropshire. A 4 coach train hauled by Bradley Manor was hired for a few days while a Helicopter was used for the Arial Sequences.

You can travel on the line through much of the year and visit places used in the film. The Viaduct you refer to is Oldbury Viaduct near Bridgnorth, The wooded areas are at that end of the line with the close ups of the loco filmed at Highley Station.

The recent release of the Disney film "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" has generated much interest in the SVR, particularly in ex-Great Western Manor 4-6-0 No. 7802 "Bradley Manor". The locomotive has a starring role in the opening scenes, which were filmed at Highley station.
