By "original" I mean the first release of the series, when each book was first released after C.S. Lewis made them. I don't, I wasn't born yet. :p

I have a set of the original hardback version as released in the U.S., which was several years after they were released in the U.K. They're the set I grew up with, and are very battered, but they're among the greatest treasures in my library.

No I'm afraid, twas before my time. :(
I bet that a set of first editions would be very hard to get a hold of now. It's hard enough to find old sets in publication order. Though, I'd certainly like a set of first editions.

I"ve got a really old soft-cover set... They're in there in the order they were written, not in the order they happen.
I don't know if they're origional or not.

I don't even own a NEW set, let alone an old one. But that would be amazingly awesome.

I own a set with a whole ton of different versions (it is not uniform) but I don't think any of them are the first edition publication.
I just have the paperback omnibus with Jadis on the cover (it was REALLY cheap -- $10 for the whole series). It's pretty, and I'm happy with it, but, it only has illustrations on the chapter heading pages, which is why I want a set with individual books as well, and in publication order.

I got my set individually for about $2 to $3 a book at a used paperback bookstore, except for PC. I waited to see if they got PC but at the time they didn't so I ordered it from Waldenbooks. I want a hardcover version one day with colored pictures. I know it'll be expensive. It's just a long-term goal I guess.

What does the original look like?
I have the whole series with the books like this;

I have a few paperbacks too, but they ripped after a while. xD

I have a single, large hardcover book which entails all 7 books into one. It's beautifully illustrated.

If you want to talk to someone with an amazing collection, look up Mr. Glen GoodKnight. He brought his books to LionCon. He has the Chronicles in several languages and many of them are quite old. I can't remember offhand if he had any first editions or not. I think he did. He also had a personal letter from Lewis that is framed. If you're interested in the older books, he'd be one to discuss them with.
Regardless of how old the Narnia sets are that I get my hands on, I will always be partial to the Pauline Baynes illustrations. They're amazing! I love her work.
