New thread about the Hermit place

Ok, apparently no one has posted on this forum for more than 30 days, so there is no thread for the moment, except this one I'm creating. How did you picture the Hermit place, and you know the sort of pool where Aravis, and the horses can see Shasta/Cor fighting at the battle ??:confused:

I've always imagined the pool to be a large mid-deep white stone or marble basin within this beautiful green garden with rose arches and perfect green hedges and a white gazebo where you can hear water running gently in the background...a beautiful and serene place.

I imagined it like a small lake, with silver water ...

I imagined it as like one of those small, overgrown castles with ivy and moss crawling all over the wall and inside is like a library and there are also rooms where you can stay in... with a lake on the side... like a little oasis, really...

I just imagined it as this modestly sized, perfectly circular place, surrounded completely by a high, thick hedge that can't be seen through or over, and the pool as a smallish, deep pool, sunken into the ground.

I picture it as a modest house situated on a circular plot of about 2 acres. A fence completely surrounds the property with the front gate, where they entered, not too far from the house.

I want to buy my own place that will be like the Hermit's. I am hoping to find one with a magic pool and all!:D

Wouldn't that be awesome? I picture it with lots of flowers around the base of the walls. I would make bird houses for the birds and stuff. Hatch butterflies and things like that. And hopefully, the magic pool will take me to Narnia!!:D

lol BarbarianKing it looks as if you would love to be involved with set-design for the HHB production... but im not too sure if you'll be able to make the pool take you to narnia! hehe :D

I've always seen the Hermit's place as a sort of green-walled enclosure, with a little cottage in the middle, and a pool outside. I think that's pretty much how the book describes it, too.
