ok hows this sound as a basis for a fantasy story:

A man from a different world come across a portal (some sort of amulet or somthing) into ours in a castle. He comes to earth out of curiosity and falls in love with a human woman. He lives a long life on earth, and before he croakes hides the portal in his house, unknown by his family. The portal remains in the house for years, and many owners. Finally a brother and sister discover the portal and are trasported into the other world, were they are stuck in the middle of a war that they have nothing to do with. At some point, the amulet is stolen by a soldier on one of the armies. The siblings join up with teh other army to help win the war and recover the amulet.


this is just the bare skeleton of my story

That's a really good idea you have there, the bare back to a fantastic story, you need to flesh it out but it would work well.

ya ive already made one change, please tell me what you think of it:

instead of it being a war going on, the other world is completely in turnmoil. the kids are captured by slave traders soon after entering the world, but are saved by a band of people trying to restore order to the land. (and maby restore a true king, havent decided yet). they are saved, but the amulet is still in the possesion of the slave traders. they join the band of people trying to restore order, and help fix the problems in the world. at some point during this they regain the amulet, so they can go home if they want, but decide to stay and help.

Good change. The only thing i have to say is, do not put the king idea in there. It's too similar to Narnia if you do that. You want it to be unique. :)

SO he's from another world
He comes here and has kids
Those kids go back to his world

no its not his kids who go back. the house changes families many times b4 the kids who go to the other world get there.
