Ok, who here loves Star Wars. And no, just because you saw Revenge of the Sith because Hayden Christensen was hot doesn't mean you love Star Wars.
I have loved these movies just about the same time I started loving CoN, and I was wondering who else here does?

yeah, you can count me in on that. I have seen the old version of star wars (episodes 4-6) about 10 times each (including two marathons where I have watched them back-to-back-to-back). The new ones are pretty good (especially episode III IMO), but not quite as good as the original. Anyone else agree?
high_kingpeter

The originals are the best! Agree with you completely Charn_Tim. Episode two pissed me off, it was most definately the worst out of the whole saga.

I love star wars too, I think all of the six movies rock!, of course u shouldn't like the movie just because hayden christensen is a hottie. I think each movie rocks because they have their special thing.. i don't know... anyway STAR WARS ROCK_!

I have always loved Star Wars, I have been watching it for longer than I can remember. I loved it long before Narnia or LOTR. Even though it can be pretty cheesy at times it's still so great. I don't care if George Lucas isn't satisfied with the orignal three they are timeless. The new ones are good, but can't compare to those older ones.
And my friend, knowing my love of Star Wars, was kind enough to get me the Attack of the Clones script autographed by the various cast members. Which was one of the best gifts I got this year.

u know i'm not that old but i do love the saga. but honestly i didn't see them til my freshmen year in high school. And i've been a fan of T.C.o.N. since i 1st read t.m.n. in 3rd grade. i must admit that Jedi is the best but sith is definitly a close 2nd. and i think that when T.C.o.N. is done that it will most likely be better then star wars. and may the force be with u all. :D

I'm an empire strikes back fan. So thats should explain that i grew up in the 80s and have loved the movies ever since. The main thing i'm looking forward to now is the live-action tv show. That has so much potential, I simply cannot wait for it.

My brother was a huge Star Wars fan back in the late 70's early 80's. And when he saw ROTJ, his Star Wars mania was grewing and grewing. We have seen all episodes in that time and then I loved it. I loved the story, I loved Luke Skywalker (compare it with the William/Skandar hype now) and we collected the action figures for my brother. But years passed by and my love for SW was going away. I was extremely unhappy with TPM and thought it was more a children's movie. AOTC was also not my taste, but ROTS was cool. Of course Hayden was a hottie (he still is) but besides that, the way he turned to the dark side was sad. He killed all those innocent children and only because of his love for Padme. He thought he would do good but he was wrong. Looking back at it, I must admit that the first trilogy was the best. I am not a Star Wars lover, but the trilogy (old one) has now become very classical and I don't think it will change. The new trilogy was far less, but at least we can place a face and a name to Darth Vader.

Love the original Star Wars, even have some of those figurines from the time (though I wish I'd kept them in better condition; unfortunately, children tend to actually play with toys ;) ). However, like many, I absolutely despised the new films, especially the first two (though the second at least has that funky little duel featuring Yoda). Revenge of the Sith was still deeply, deeply flawed, Hayden Christenssen continuing to produce some of the worst acting I've ever seen in a major film, but at least the effects were magnificent and there was plenty of action. Not a film I'd want to revisit, but displayed a slight improvement from the debacle of the first two 'prequels'.
I could post up a review, because as anyone who has read my posts over the past few days knows, I'm prone to long-windedness, but I'll see where this thread goes first... :p

I could be wrong, but I think that George Lucas is all Star Warsed out ;)
Besides, I think Star Wars fans would murder him with how coldly the newest three movies were accepted. (How they were accepted in spirit, not box office count).

There was supposed to be a 7,8 and 9 of Star Wars movies, but George Lucas decided he didn't want to make anymore movies and he's not selling the rights. So, him remaking the old ones is probably out of the question. The closer we'll ever get to remakes are the Special Editions from about ten years ago and it should stay that way.

Diehard SW fan here...I've loved it from the beginning. Although the Prequels aren't up to any SW fan's standards, I still enjoy the entire saga.
You wouldn't believe how relieved I was when George announced he won't be making anymore movies (at C3). The EU is enough for me. This new SW series seems to be making waves...just hope Lucas doesn't direct them.

It would kill the original trilogy if GL is going to remake it. I hope he stay with his decision to leave them alone. I like Hayden as Anakin, and he is very cute, but that won't make the whole SW saga my favorite. Looking back at the new trilogy now, I would say that Darth Vader has a face and we know how he became a Sith Lord, but that is it. The old trilogy is always the best.

I definitely agree.
I irked me greatly to hear Christensen had been inserted into the original films on the more recent DVD boxed set re-release of 4, 5 and 6. I would much rather forget he had anything to do with the Star Wars franchise, as he is easily the worst actor across any of the films - Mark Hamill wasn't exactly stunning, but his occasional slips pale in comparison to the stunted wooden performance that Christensen seemed to think was 'acting' (though he certainly wasn't helped by the lacklustre script).
Yet perhaps even worse was that the dialogue in Revenge of the Sith was so bad that towards its close, it successfully made one of the greatest voices in cinema, James Earl Jones, sound amateur and melodramatic.
Mrs Gil-Galad Took
01-20-2006, 12:41 PM
I don't agree with you in all of this Slideyfoot, because it was not only Hayden who played less in ROTS, but also Ewan macGregor could do far better. But that is a matter of opinion. I think the whole trilogy was not what everybody expected. And they changed the end of ROTJ and put Hayden in it because he played Anakin and Anakin should get his looks back as he was before he was burned. I don't really bother myself at that part. It was only a small change and too less important to make myself angry about it.
Kitanna
01-20-2006, 01:27 PM
See the thing is Hayden Christensen has the personality of a cardboard box in the movies. He brings no real emotion to the part.
And about him being added in Return of the Jedi it's not a HUGE deal for me. I'm not really pleased with him there, but at the same time I can see why it's been added. Anikan was not as old as the original actor in ROTJ was. He was still young when he became Darth Vader and the first actor looked to be the same age as Obi-Wan when he died. So, while I like the original ending better, I don't put up much of a fight with the new one because I see that it makes more sense to have Anikan as he looked when he became Lord Vader. What really gets me is that I hate Hayden Christensen, I'd mind a lot less if some other actor had been Anikan.

well, i see many people have their opinions about Hayden's acting, I do too, and I agree with you guys. However, it occurred to me that since we don't know how they express their emotions in that galaxy and at that time, we can't really judge whether it was the actor's fault/lack of talent or simply that they behave differently than we do.
i know, that's a dumb excuse/reason, but oh well, it just popped into my mind one day. i really don't know why i'm defending Hayden, but i just had to let that out.

I love every single Star Wars!
I think each one is brilliant in their own way.
I hate when people who claim to be fans, offend the prequels or Hayden Christensen for not playing Anakin well enough for them. To be honest I just wanna say to them, well George Lucas thought he was good and he invented the entire thing! If you were a real fan you'd understand that! I mean, how can YOU say how ANakin should be played? Only George Lucas can do that!
I also hate people comparing classics to newer ones, I mean, you CAN'T compare classics to new ones! It's completely different!
I love 'em all :D
Obi-Wan, Yoda, Anakin, Luke, Han, Leia, THEY ALL KICK ASS!

Yeah it's intersting to note that Geroge Lucas didn't write the screenplays (including dialogue) for Eps. V and VI. He said himself that he couldn't write dialogue (which shows in the prequels btw). It's true that the prequels were flawed and occasionally annoying, but there are some real gems in there that people tend to pass over.
I actaully like Ep. I a lot, Qui-Gon Jin is my favorite charachter in the whole series. Darth Maul was a great villian, he was quiet, dark, mysterious, and a very effecient warrior. Unfortunately most people overlook these characthers when thinking of Ep. I simply because Jar Jar was such an overly obnoxious charachter.
Same goes for Ep. II, the chase over Coruscant was spectacular, the Battle of Geonosis was done extremely well, and the plot elements from the movie are very important. I like the way that Lucas slowly revealed what was happening throughout the movie, without giving away too much.
So anyway that's my two cents worth.
Sorry if I get carried away, I'm a big Star Wars fan. :D

I loved the Geonosis Arena bit, especially seeing all the jedi in action XD I love all the Star Wars, they're fantastic!
I thought Hayden was great for Anakin anyway :D
He was fantastic at using a light sabre too!

Apparently, and this may only be hearsay (I heard it from someone who went on a course with Ewan McGregor), McGregor was so disgusted by the script that he complained loudly on-set at how utterly unreadable it was, while still miced up.
I'd be interested to know how many of those who grew up with the original Star Wars prefer the lacklustre recent efforts. It seems those who are too young to remember the first trilogy are capable of forgiving the numerous flaws of the new films; I can't.

i love star wars. how can you say "may the force be with you all" if you think narnia will be better than star wars. it'll be awsome of course, probably better than the lord of the rings, but, come on, star wars has history. i've seen all the movies too many times to count, since the first time i saw new hope when i was 4 and loved 'em. episode 1 is the worst, lotr and con definately are better than it, but it's still better than a lot of other stuff. I went to the midnight showing of sith and saw it at noon the next day, too. i hav posters all over my bedroom, lotr too, but not as many and i'm working on con.
i think hayden christenson was great in sith, while 2 left things to be desired. he may not be worthy of awards, but if someone else had done it you couldn't honestly say it would be better, and when has star wars acting been good in the past, that you recal, other than christopher lee and alec guinness?
anyway, the soundtrack for sith is unbeatable.
~roseofalioness~
02-01-2006, 06:19 PM
i agree you can't compare the new to old. really, the people who critisize the old ones now should study thier history better. they may not look like much now to those who are into effects but think about the breakthroughs that were made by star wars. they covered so much ground, things would be totally diferent if they hadn't.
and if you have problems with "flaws" in the new ones, just remember, it's the way george wants it to be. his lifes work is just abut over, and he's satisfied. to argue with that when he is the one who gave it to you in the first place is a sacralige.

Just because they're the way George wanted them doesn't make them 'great' movies.
They're good, but they fail in terms of acting and plot development. An over reliance on special effects abounds; the most powerful of the prequels is the third by the nature of the material itself, but many parts of the first were unable to make me suspend my disbelief, especially the space battle sequence.
Loony
02-13-2006, 01:56 PM
I just wanna say, they're the way George Lucas made them and that's the only way they should be. If you like Star Wars you like all the films. And they are great movies.
Just because you don't like them doesn't make them not as amazing as they are. I'd honestly like to see you try invent something like an entire galaxy, or light-sabers, or, anything in fact, from this saga which must be one of the most famous sagas ever.

Cinematic History ... before CGI made it all irrelevent ...
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi won the distinction, in the hardest possible way, for the most moving sprites making up a single shot. The final battle of the Empire versus the Rebellion had one moment when at one given time there were literally DOZENS of spacecraft all moving in different directions exchanging fire.
Nowdays one can simply program CGI to process BILLIONS of them and let them all go crazy with computer control. But it took a real master to work out the choreography and use the old style optical printer to manually composite all those craft. It's mind numbing to even THINK about how they did it...one movement at a time...one pass at a time through the OP, and nobody becomes transparent or gets occluded by someone in the "background".
I did some film work back in the "middle ages" when there was no such thing as electronic "Chroma Keying". You did it manually with panoramas and mind-numbingly manually controlled lighting so that the background was an even hue of blue or sodium gold. Anyone remember the term "Travelling Matte"??

I love the original trilogy of star wars, those are great movies. The new ones are okay, they aren't as great though. I think they focus too much on the cgi and flashy stuff, and some of the dialogue is crap. But they are definetly fun movies to watch. I love the eu books, Mara Jade is my favorite charecter out of those.

The cgi is mind-blowing in the prequels. It's just simply unbelievable, it's also one of the reasons the movies are good. I was watching ROTS and could not believe the volcano planet. It's just amazing.

I love the the battle between Yoda and Darth Sidious in ROTS, where the senate chamber opens up and the two are dueling amidst the chamber seats.
That means so much to me. It represents the struggle between good and evil in such a powerful and abstract manner, it's like they are the manifestations of good and evil, and they're fighting for supremecy in the heart of the republic, the heart of democracy.

My big brother has the DVDs for Clone Wars, I must watch them one day.
I liked AOTC I thought the music in it was amazing, and that the Yoda and Dooku fight was amazing. And that the Anakin and Dooku fight was good (2 lightsabres looked AWESOME!)
I also liked the feel of an old Hollywood romance :)
It was very sweet, and yeah, it doesn't really happen like that in real life but that's the brilliance of star wars!
I liked the way Anakin was played, he managed to put the darkness into him, and the arrogance at times. But he also made him seem so innocent and naive.
I love allll the movies, I think I have watched them back to back!
Well I certainly watched the three classics in a row and the 3 prequels.
I dunno if i've done all of them!

Lucas and Spielberg are working on making an Indiana Jones Four.
Oh how can George stop now?! He says he is..but will he? He made a pile of money on these things...I doubt he will quit just yet.
I watched an interview with Lucas a while back and he's stopping because he doesn't want Star Wars to become like Star Trek.

yeah, you can count me in on that. I have seen the old version of star wars (episodes 4-6) about 10 times each (including two marathons where I have watched them back-to-back-to-back). The new ones are pretty good (especially episode III IMO), but not quite as good as the original. Anyone else agree?

There are two TV shows coming out. One is going to be like the Clone Wars, animated probably by the same people in the same way. The other will be live action. That is the plan.
I liked all six movies though nothing can beat the originals! Though Hayden is hot, there was something missing in the prequels.
I have been a big fan for a long time. I was a fan when I was little because I thought R2 was funny and cute. It was not until they were re released that I became a crazy fan like I am.
I saw Ep II and Ep III at midnight showing, went to CIII (in costume), and have such a wealth of Star Wars trivia, it is almost scary. I actually won a trivia contest at CIII.
I have many books and many things I have collected. And now that I sound possibly scary, I should be going.
May the Force be with you all!

Also, has anyone seen the clone wars cartoons that set the stage for episode III? They are pretty cool and explain a lot of the intermediary between episodes II and III.

Many love the small green one. Hot he is, just like Kermit the Frog.
All humor aside, I think part of the joy of watching Star Wars is that it is not as socially redeeming as Star Trek. There is good and evil, and good wins, but basically it was FUN. Star Trek I enjoy too, but in a whole different way.

hey NR, i used to wonder that too until i watched them, and i was HOOKED!
ok, i'll try not to spoil anything for you, but if i do, im sorry. also, i have no idea how old you are, but here goes:
well, they're not like, terribley violent like all those movies that are in theaters now [like mr and mrs smith or something].. if you've seen indiana jones and the raiders of the lost ark, star wars is MUCH more mild (i think [in terms of blood and gory scenes]. they are all PG except for episode III [revenge of the sith, which is PG-13]. if you can see narnia, star wars is sorta like that except they are in a galaxy far far away and there's like, aliens and stuff [not too creepy, you can sorta tell that they're rubber costumes] instead of centaurs and minotaurs..... the only thing is like light-saber fights and stuff. people get stuff sliced off, but you dont see very much. anyway, i think that's about it. just if you watch them, watch them in order or something (George Lucas said it was supposed to be one big story)...

ps: you can always check out some star wars books at the bookstore, since i guess you like to read ;)

Watch the original three. The acting in the latest three (with the exception of Liam Neeson) was atrocious. Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman were as wooden as Jabba's barge. Harrison Ford encased in Carbonite gave a more lifelike performance. Granted, the special effects were better in the latest three movies but I thought the plot stunk. It was as if Lucas sat down and simply had to allude to the first three movies in every scene of the last three. R2D2 and C3P0 were the only characters worth watching.

Star Wars show details confirmed
A top Star Wars producer has confirmed details of a new TV series based on the epic films.
Rick McCallum said the Star Wars team will soon meet, and filming should start in 2008. The series is likely to be ready later that year.
He said the series would explain a gap in time between episodes III and IV in the story, spanning a 20-year period when Luke Skywalker grows up.
Rick said if fans like the series there could be at least 100 episodes.

Will you watch the new Star Wars TV series?
Yes, watch it will I
No, not interested am I
The producer, who works very closely with George Lucas, said there would be "a whole bunch of new characters" and the series would be "much more dramatic and darker".
And he added that it was unlikely any of the stars of the movies would be involved in the TV series.
Space saga
The new TV show won't be the first small screen Star Wars spin-off though, as an animated series called Clone Wars has already been shown.
The final Star Wars film, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, was released in 2005 and marked the end of the space saga.
Awesome huh?!

I will watch the show, but I must admit I do worry about how it will be done.
I wish some of the books would be made into movies. They would be amazing.
And NR, you really have to watch to understand it. While the movies are supposed to be watched in chronological order, I think the original three might be best (at least to start). Just because they are the originals.

Loony,
Don't get me wrong. I grew up on the first three Star Wars movies. Saw them multiple times, waited on line, had a Chewbacca action figure. However, when the Force (which I always looked upon as a pretty cool theological concept with plenty of room for God) became simply the after effect of biology (the Mitichlorians of the first new film), Lucas lost me. Also, one cannot compare the acting brilliance of Alec Guinness with that stick figure, Hayden Christensen (spelling?). In general I felt the old films told a better story, had better acting and Darth Vader, the best on screen villain of all time. There simply was no story to these new films, simply a desire on the part of Lucas to provide a back story to the first three films. I was completely let down with the story concerning Anakin's gradual movement to Vader. Part of this was Christensen's horrible acting (one facial expression-Brooding) and the horrible acting of the child who played little Anakin. The only redeeming feature was Emperor Palpatine (a brilliant actor) and the story arc of how the Republic crumbled and the Empire was born. Hey, I even liked Jar-Ja, but they couldn't hold a light sabre to the first films. Maybe if they had devoted the third movie entirely to General Grievous.
Peace,
L

I've seen all the Star Wars saga including the Cartoon Network's SW Micro Series. I think the Return of the Jedi is the best. My top 3 list:
1: Return of the Jedi
2: The Phantom Menace
3: Revenge of the Sith
somehow i like the mass army of clone troopers in the Clone Wars but it doesn't excite me much coz i've read the book & the imagination just pull a bit different from what it is in the film.
Fav. characters?
Leia in Boushh w/out helmet, Luke Skywalker, Obi Wan by Alec Guiness (coz he's more wiser) & Qui Gon. Of all the Jedi Masters...Qui Gon is the best!

Best movie: Return of the Jedi, episode VI
Top three:
Return of the Jedi
Empire Strikes Back
Revenge of the Sith
I seem to notice a pattern here: Two of my top three movies are the two that George Lucas did NOT direct, he only wrote. Now George Lucas is a great storywriter, but I don't like the movies he directs. Moving on to:
Favorite charachter: Han Solo
Top three:
Han Solo
Bail Organa
Leia Skywalker-Organa-Solo
Favorite Actor/Actress: Harrison Ford
Top Three:
Harrison Ford
Carrie Fischer
Alec Guiness

If anyone didn't know that darth vader is seen in every star wars movie including episodes I and II. If you would like to hear him in episode I go to the credits and at the very end turn the volume up and you will hear Vader breathing once... it's pretty cool. And for episode II his shadow is seen on tatooine before he leaves to go save his mother and in the commentary they said they did not tend to make this happen it just appeared there. You can also just pop in the movie and see his shadow appear(look at pic)

There really is a TV show. None of the details have been confirmed, except it will be set between Ep 3 and Ep 4.
And yea! for the one year anniversary!

My brother got me hooked when I was maybe 10. Of course, as with all trilogies we watch, he INSISTED on watching them out of order (with LotR we watched it backwards), starting with Ep. 5. Anyway . . .
I've read lots of the books, excluding the Rogue Squadron books and the Yhuzzun Vong series. I don't like the fact that they're off the characters  .
Fav character: Han Solo
Fav film: Ep. 6
Fav book: The Crystal Star

Star Wars Episode 7
Plot Summary Script Synopsis Story
The Fallen Hero
by
George Lucas
Thirty years have passed since the Battle of Endor (Return of the Jedi), where both the Emperor and Vader met their doom. During the decades since Endor, the remnants of the Empire have been defeated and the New Republic formed out of the ashes of the Empire. However, enemies against the New Republic still exist. A rogue group of Dark Jedi have emerged that threaten the fragile stability that the New Republic enjoys.
The Cloud City of Bespin has been converted into one of the many Jedi training facilities located all throughout the galaxy. The Jedi's numbers are beginning to grow to Old Republic heights. The New Jedi Order consists of about 7,000 Jedi Knights. Bespin is now the home to both Jedi Masters, Knights and Apprentices.
During routine Jedi training on Bespin, the Dark Jedi invade wearing jet packs, which send them like a swarm dropping into the upper reaches of the cloud city. These Dark Jedi are seeking to re-establish the legacy of Darth Vader and, hence, they wear a more-advanced-looking version of Darth Vader's mask, helmet and body armor in honor of their fallen hero.
As the Dark Jedi attack Bespin, their sleek battle satellites swarm the floating city and rain down turbolaser fire on the city. The Jedi are taken by complete surprise. However, the Dark Jedi seek not to conquer Bespin, but to capture some of the Jedi's prized holocrons, which hold vast quantities of information about the ancient ways and customs of the Jedi. As hundreds of light-saber battles erupt between the Jedi and their Dark Jedi counterparts, some of the Dark Jedi use concussion grenades to cause damage to Bespin's superstructure.
A few of the holocrons are captured by the Dark Jedi. With their mission now complete, the Dark Jedi retreat from Cloud City and fly away from the city using their jet packs which they wear on their backs. The Dark Jedi fly into the nearby clouds and disappear. The roar of engines can be heard as the Dark Jedi escape in their customized Tie Rager star ships, which were hidden in the clouds above Cloud City.
The 12 members of the Jedi Council are present in the Jedi Council chamber in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Several Jedi, who survived the battle of Bespin against the Dark Jedi, relate to Luke Skywalker (the head of the Jedi Council) that several Jedi holocrons were taken during the battle. Luke informs the Jedi Council that the Jedi will have to find these lost holocrons and bring the Dark Jedi under control.
Meanwhile, just outside of the Jedi Temple, a shape-shifting Dark Jedi named Asp morphs into Ben Skywalker and enters the Jedi Temple. Asp makes his way to the Jedi super computer area where Asp hopes to disable the Jedi's computer network. Padawans Anakin Solo (son of Han Solo and Leia Organa) and Ben Skywalker (son of Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade) are walking by the computer area. They both sense something and enter the computer area. Ben and Anakin are shocked to see someone in the room that looks exactly like Ben. Asp sees the padawans and flees the room. Ben and Anakin chase after Asp.
Asp makes his way to the garage at the Jedi Temple and steals one of the Jedi swoop bikes. At a high rate of speed, Asp flies down the streets of Coruscant. Ben and Anakin each get a swoop bike and pursue Asp. After a thrilling chase, Asp wrecks his swoop bike. The Coruscant zoo is nearby and Asp enters the zoo to hide from Anakin and Ben. Anakin and Ben park their swoop bikes and quickly follow Asp into the zoo. A spectacular light-saber duel erupts between Asp vs. Ben and Anakin. As the duel rages on, Asp begins to lose so he uses his light saber to release Rygor tigers from their cage.
Ben sees the tigers and says: "I've got a bad feeling about this." The tigers spot Ben and Anakin and then charge at the two padawans. Ben and Anakin battle the tigers. Within in a few minutes, Ben and Anakin have killed all seven of the ferocious tigers. However, by the time Ben and Anakin are finished fighting the tigers, Asp has escaped to parts unknown.
Elsewhere, Shindor, the leader of the Dark Jedi, is elated to learn that some of the Jedi holocrons have successfully been taken from the Jedi. Shindor is currently at the Dark Jedi's cloning facility, which is located on a planet nearby Coruscant. Shindor is using this facility to make clones of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. The Dark Jedi plan to fulfill Darth Vader's prophecy that he and Luke should rule the galaxy as father and son and bring peace and order to the galaxy. The Dark Jedi are using Imperial DNA samples of Vader to produce a clone of the Dark Lord of the Sith and are using DNA samples from Luke's severed hand to produce a clone of the venerable Jedi Master. Skywalker's severed hand is currently owned by one of the chief Dark Jedi named, Spiden.
Meanwhile, Spiden hatches a plan to leak the Dark Jedi's efforts to clone Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker to spies working for the New Republic. Spiden hopes the leader of the Dark Jedi will be destroyed by forces from the New Republic so that he can become the new leader of the Dark Jedi. Spiden leaks this information. The New Republic military and a Jedi army plan to raid the Dark Jedi hideout.
Also, Spiden contacts Luke Skywalker and asks the great Jedi Master to meet with him on the planet of Sluivan. Spiden tells Luke that Spiden is a smuggler who came across Luke’s severed hand in a preservation box. Luke learns from Spiden that the Empire recovered Luke's hand that Vader cut off at Bespin. Spiden says that the hand is in perfect condition and can probably be re-attached to Luke’s arm. Luke agrees to meet Spiden on Sluivan.
Luke arrives on Sluivan with R2-D2 and C-3PO. Luke enters a room where Spiden told Luke he would be waiting for Luke. Luke sees Spiden holding his severed hand in a transparent preservation box. Suddenly, the door behind Luke closes. Spiden sets down the hand and pulls out two light sabers. Spiden holds one in each hand and ignites them. Spiden tells Luke that he will now avenge the deaths of Sidious and Vader. Luke pulls out his light saber and ignites it. Luke and Spiden fight with their sabers. Luke manages to cut off one of Spiden’s hands. Spiden continues to fight with his other hand. R2-D2 rolls up behind Spiden. R2 ignites his rocket boosters and crashes into the back of Spiden at a tremendous speed. Spiden falls to the ground. Spiden stands back up dazed. With a slight movement of his hand, Luke uses the Force to send Spiden flying across the room. Spiden slams into a wall and is left unconscious. Luke thanks R2 for his valor, then Luke recovers his severed hand and then cuts the closed door open with his light saber . Luke, R2 and C-3PO exit the room. On Coruscant, a team of Jedi doctors re-attach Luke’s hand to his arm.
Luke learns that the Republic is planning to send a military unit to the planet where the Dark Jedi are cloning Vader and Luke. Luke orders the Jedi star pilots to scramble to their fighters and join the Republic forces in the fight. The Republic and Jedi star fighters arrive at the planet where the Dark Jedi cloning facility is located. Hundreds of Dark Jedi fighters are waiting for them. A massive space battle ensues.
Luke and a dozen or so other Jedi make their way to the surface of the planet and enter the Dark Jedi cloning facility. Light saber battles erupt between the Jedi and the Dark Jedi. Luke finds the Dark Jedi leader, Shindor, and they engage in a light-saber duel. Luke eventually decapitates Shindor. The remaining Dark Jedi flee the cloning facility with the growing clones of Vader and Luke. The Jedi set explosive charges all over the cloning facility. The Jedi flee the cloning facility. A few minutes later, the cloning facility is destroyed by the exploding charges.
While the Dark Jedi cloning facility has been destroyed, the New Republic and Jedi are unaware that the Dark Jedi succeeded in preserving the growing clones of Vader and Luke, which will be utilized in the Dark Jedi's grand scheme to conquer the galaxy. Back on Coruscant, Anakin Solo and Ben Skywalker are brought before the Jedi Council. For their bravery in combating the Dark Jedi, the Jedi Council makes Anakin and Ben full-fledged Jedi Knights. The two are given their official Jedi robes. Fade to black. Roll end credits

I know another girl in my family who's a Star Wars nut. There are other reasons beside Hayden Christensen: Ewan McGregor, in fact. :) He's pretty cute in all three. My least fav is Ep. I. but I still like it.
So there is a plot summary for VII, VIII, and IX, but is there any plans to actually be making them. I haven't seen anything.
Here's the one for VIII:
The Republic in Crisis
by
George Lucas
After having their secret base destroyed by the Jedi Order in Episode 7, the Dark Jedi decide to remain hidden and underground until the clones of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker have fully developed. Meanwhile, the Republic faces a new war from a large group of super commandos who call themselves the Mandalorians. The Mandalorian super commandos originate from the unknown regions of the galaxy. While training on the planet called Nassius, special units of the Republic military are attacked by the Mandalorians. The fighting is fierce and very spectacular. The Republic units are defeated in a large-scale space and land battle. After being victorious, the Mandalorians retreat to the safety of deep space.
Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker, Mara Jade, C-3PO and R2-D2 are on a secret mission to Mon Calamari. Luke is searching for the legendary kyber crystals that are rumored to be hidden on Mon Calamari. A kyber crystal greatly magnifies the power of the Force in whoever wears the crystal. Luke and Company come across a smuggler who claims to know where the kyber crystals might be hidden. For a high price, the smuggler gives Luke the location where the crystals might be. Luke, Jade, C-3PO and R2-D2 arrive at this secret location and startle some thieves who have beaten them to the crystals. The thieves see Luke and company. These thieves immediately flee in their hydro foil water boat over the great ocean of Mon Calamari. Skywalker and company give chase in their own hydro foil.
After a spectacular chase sequence on the Listinik Ocean, Luke and company manage to overtake the thieves' boat and retrieve the kyber crystals. With the crystals in hand, Skywalker and company leave Mon Calamari and head back to Coruscant.
On Coruscant, the Republic Senate has voted to increase their military budget in order to defeat the mysterious Mandalorian super commandos.
Somewhere else on Coruscant, Luke, Jade, C-3PO and R2-D2 arrive back home and meet up with Han Solo, Leia Solo, Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca. Han informs Luke that Han, Lando and Chewbacca will scout out the location of the hidden Mandalorian fleet. Luke tells Han to take R2-D2 to help with the mission. Leia decides to remain on Coruscant to meet with some powerful Senators regarding the difficult war with the Mandalorians.
Han, Lando, Chewbacca, R2-D2 and a Bothan named Terk Minas board the Millennium Falcon and head into space looking for the Mandalorian fleet. Meanwhile, Ben Skywalker, with his Jedi girlfriend named Paron Lighton, are attempting to make the Kessel Run in record time. Together, Ben and Paron fly a two seat fighter with Ben as the pilot and Paron as the navigator. After much excitement, Ben and Paron complete the Kessel Run, but fall short of setting any kind of record. They know that it will take many attempts for them to come close to breaking the record set for completing the Kessel Run.
Meanwhile back on Coruscant, Luke and Mara Jade are told about a group of Mandalorian fighters that are battling Rogue Squadron. Luke scrambles the Jedi star fighters to help Rogue Squadron. Luke and Jade board two fighters. Luke, Jade and the Jedi strike force enter hyperspace and arrive at the battle. The fighting is very hectic. Several of Rogue Squadron’s fighters have been destroyed. Luke and company enter the battle. Jade’s ship is disabled and Mara Jade is captured by the Mandalorians. Luke tries to reach the Mandalorian cruiser that has Jade. Several Mandalorian fighters attack Luke’s X-Wing. Luke’s X-Wing spirals out of control. The Mandalorians quickly leave the battle with Mara Jade. The life support system of Luke’s X-Wing has been knocked offline. Luke is forced to enter Force hibernation so that he can survive until he is rescued. Soon, Luke is rescued by what’s left of Rogue Squadron. They head back for the safety of Coruscant.
In deep space, Han and company in the Millennium Falcon have stumbled across the Mandalorian fleet. Han sends the location of the Mandalorian fleet back to the Republic military’s headquarters. Dozens of Mandalorian fighters are sent to take out the Falcon. Han and Lando take control of the Falcon’s laser cannons while Chewbacca pilots the Falcon. The Mandalorian fighters chase after the Falcon and damage the Falcon’s hyperdrive. R2-D2 informs Chewie that the closest inhabited planet is the Wookiee home world called Kashyyyk.
Chewie heads for Kashyyyk with the Mandalorian fighters closing in on them. After much fighting, Han and Lando manage to take out all the Mandalorian fighters with the Falcon’s turbo lasers. However, the Falcon has been badly damaged. The Falcon safely arrives at Kashyyyk and Chewie lands the Falcon at a space port that is closest to where Chewbacca’s brother lives. Chewbacca has R2-D2 record a message that is to be given to Chewie’s brother. R2-D2 exits the Falcon and heads in the general direction of where Chewie’s brother lives. While R2-D2 is gone, Han, Chewie, Lando and Terk attempt to repair the Falcon.
Meanwhile, Ben Skywalker and Paron Lighton arrive on Coruscant and meet up with Anakin Solo (the son of Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa Solo) to have drinks at a local night club. While in the night club, Ben, Paron and Anakin are attacked by several thugs. Paron says: “I have a bad feeling about this.” Anakin uses several Force fireballs to take out a couple of the thugs. At the same time, Ben unleashes a Force avalanche which causes a nearby wall to fall on several of the thugs. Paron ignites her light saber and takes out some of the thugs. In a few minutes, the three Jedi have prevailed over the thugs and decide to leave the night club.
Elsewhere on Coruscant, Luke heads to his apartment on. Luke enters his apartment and feels a tremor in the Force. Someone is in Luke’s apartment. Luke turns on his light saber and looks around. The Dark Jedi named Spiden walks out of the shadows with his light saber on. Spiden tells Luke that Luke should have killed him while Luke had the chance. The two engage in a dramatic light-saber duel. During the duel, Spiden informs Luke that the Jedi failed to destroy the clones of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. Luke is stunned by this revelation. The duel continues and eventually Luke manages to cut Spiden in half from Spiden’s head all the way to the bottom of Spiden’s torso.
Meanwhile, R2-D2 arrives at Chewie’s brother’s home and plays Chewie’s message for Chewie’s brother. The message tells Chewie’s brother that Chewie and his friends need help securing a new hyperdrive for the Falcon. Chewie’s brother immediately leaves with R2-D2 to find a new hyperdrive.
Republic spies send a message to Luke that the location of Mara Jade has been found. Luke is elated by this news. The spies inform Luke that Jade can be found on the planet Concorde Dawn, the home world of the Mandalorians. Luke contacts the Jedi temple and states that he will need several hundred Jedi star fighters to accompany him to free Jade from the Mandalorians. Luke invites Ben, Paron and Anakin to accompany the Jedi to rescue Jade. On Kashyyyk, Chewie’s brother and R2-D2 arrive at the Falcon with a new hyperdrive. Luke contacts Han and tells Han that the Falcon is needed to help Luke rescue Mara Jade. Han tells Luke that the Falcon will meet up with Luke as soon as possible.
Part two of Episode VIII
Republic spies further inform Luke that the Mandalorians are building thousands of new battle cruisers and fighters that will be used by the Mandalorians to conquer the Republic. Luke knows this Mandalorian fleet must be destroyed at all costs. Luke contacts the Republic military and tells the military to meet Luke at a rendezvous destination. As Luke leaves for battle, Leia says: "May the Force be with you." A few minutes later, Luke and many Jedi in their star fighters wait in deep space for the Republic military and the Millennium Falcon to arrive.
After a few hours, both the Millennium Falcon and the Republic fleet meet up with Luke and the Jedi warriors. They enter hyperspace and soon arrive at Concorde Dawn. Luke spots a gigantic star ship construction yard that orbits Concorde Dawn. Thousands of Mandalorian battle cruisers and fighters can be seen under construction. Luke and company target this construction yard. Hundreds of Mandalorian star fighters and battle cruisers are launched from the surface of Concorde Dawn. A massive space battle between thousands of star ships erupts above Concorde Dawn.
Luke locates Mara Jade’s position on Concorde Dawn. Luke asks Ben, Paron and Anakin to accompany him to rescue Jade. The four Jedi arrive on the surface of Coruscant and enter a Mandalorian facility where Jade is being held. Paron uses the Force to read a Mandalorian’s guards mind. By reading this guard’s mind, Paron is able to know exactly where Jade is being hidden in the building. Luke, Ben, Paron and Anakin ignite their light sabers and battle their way thru dozens of Mandalorian super commandos and Agork wolves to reach Jade. Paron is killed during the fighting, but Luke manages to rescue Jade. Luke, Jade and Anakin exit the Mandalorian facility. Ben exits with the body of Paron slung over his back.
The Republic fleet and the Jedi star fighters completely annihilate the Mandalorian military. The Mandalorians surrender and agree to enter a peace agreement with the Republic. The Jedi arrive back on Coruscant and hold a funeral service for Paron Lighton and the dozens of other Jedi who died in the Battle of Concorde Dawn. Ben places Paron on a Jedi pyre and Paron’s body is consumed by a fire. Dozens of dead Jedi are burned, which is the way the Jedi honor their dead. Hundreds of Jedi solemnly watch as Paron and the other Jedi are consumed by the fire. While the Mandalorian war is now over, the Jedi paid a very high price. The Dark Jedi, with the clones of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, still remain a major threat to the stability of the Republic. Fade to black. Roll end credits.

I really like the bloopers, too! I just watched them from ep. I-III on YouTube. I think it's so funny when Obi-Wan is dancing a little in his pod, lol. And when Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon) drops his lightsaber :D .
I know those parts were funny lol
I like Ep II's bloopers the best

You know, if you think about it, it is like a Christian story. Good will eventually overcome evil. Even if it has its falls along the way.
Aravis Kenobi

I don't think it should be considered a Christian story. The Force doesn't coincide with Christianity, and the other things the Jedi believe don't either. In fact, "Only a Sith deals in absolutes" is attacking Christians because Christians hold on to an absolute truth: God.

I wouldn't say all of that. The Jedi help others, while the Sith (Satan) destroy others. But, yeah, I sorta agree with you in saying that there aren't that many Christian things from Star Wars. But that doesn't mean that a Christian shouldn't watch it. Au Contraire, a Christian could learn a lot from it.

Actually, it could be damaging, like watching HP. Watching too much of a certain film (like SW, harry potter, violent, horror films, etc..) can damage your relationship with Christ even if you don't want that to happen. Yes, when Anakin fell, it demonstrated how Christians sometimes slip into a cycle of sin. It also shows that Palpatine cared no more for Anakin than Satan does for us. All he cares about is his wants, and how it'll help his cause.

Yeah. I have never watched, much less read, HP because of all the witchcraft in it. Unlike the Magic in Narnia, HPs witchcraft was not made for the better. The author is an athiest, and so are most people who read it. (Begging the pardon of those who are Christians and read it.)

I don't think that George Lucas implied that " only sith's deal in absolutes" meant faith. Jedi's have ABSOLUTE faith in the force.. I think he meant absolute hatered or anger. I don't watch horror films, because i don't like them. I don't worship the devil and do magic, in fact i'm always talking to my freinds about God, in a good way, and yet we also love harry potter. We also like star wars. IF you read and watch them for the stories and the adventure, i think it's ok
( and J.K Rowling is athiest? where did you hear that? just because someone doesn't go to a church does not make them an athiest)

If I told you all the merchandise I had it would make me look
like a Star Wars freak. Example: I have over 100 lightsabers and
I own Anakin's FX Lightsaber, Darth Vader's Fx Lightsaber, Anakin's LE Lightsaber Replica and actual film from the movies. whoops I've said enough...
Also if you struggling to find christian morals in Star Wars, pick up a book called "Chrisitan Wisdom of the Jedi Masters" Author Dick Staub.
Aravis Kenobi

That's cool. I know someone who has some lightsabers, so don't feel bad. In answer to your post, DoG, not going to church doesn't mean your an atheist; not believing in God and opposing Him as much as possible makes you an atheist.

I think that in like 20 years, there will be episodes 7,8,9. Because, like Star Trek(sp), It could go on forever. You have the characters, and most likely all of DV's followers didn't quit when he died. I hopethey have them, so i can drag my kids with..lol

It's practically impossible to create any credible new episodes to continue Star Wars, though I sure he'll try to do it and, as in the case of the prequels, screw it up. Numerous authors have covered what happens after Return of the Jedi, up to 130 years after the Battle of Endor, so a new film would just wouldn't fit, as enough fans give the authors (i.e. Timothy Zahn, etc.) the credibility (as the books were licensed by Lucas's enterprises (whichever one(s) is/are devoted to books) to take on even the like of Father Lucas. It would just screw with the storyline, as everything within the time period of the surviving characters from the original trilogy has been covered, along with the fact that the actors/actresses that are still alive are far beyond their prime and thus couldn't even protray the characters that most fans love. Any new episodes would have to have a completely new line-up of character and take places at least four to give hundred years after the original trilogy, and thus would have no connectivity with the original trilogy and thus wouldn't really be sequels. I'd personally prefer that the books already in print (Heir to the Empire, the New Jedi Order, etc.) be made into films. There's already enough material out there, so George wouldn't have to ponder over what to do, for thirty years, which if anyone else has noticed, equates to this => the more time Lucas has to ponder over a film or film series is proportional to the quality of the fore-mentioned film/film series. So, to sum it up, though I'd always considered the possibility of a sequel trilogy or two an exciting opportunity (in the past, since I'd have another shot at actually being in a Star Wars film, this time hopefully a well done one) and though George will probably go ahead and evicscerate the series even more by making more films of decreasing quality, I really feel it would be like beating a dead horse. If we could have some fan-created film adaptations of the books, that would be awesome in my opinion, if they could measure up to Star Wars: Threads of Destiny, Star Wars: Broken Allegiance, or Star Wars: Dark Resurrection. If not, then let's just fowget aboot it and get back to constructive habits, like reading (i.e. in this case the next Star Wars novels). So..... now that I've thoroughly annoyed all the fans of a sequel trilogy, I'm going to back out of this tavern and run for my life...
See ya on the flipside,

Wow, I'm surprised about the negative reaction about Hayden here, IMO he is a great actor and did a fine job with Anakin, I think that he is much better than Hamil, but then again Anakin is better character than Luke.
But my fave character is Palpatine, he is the embodiment of the dark side, I love the way he destroyed the Republic and the old jedi order.
I also like the Star Wars expanded universe material - books and comic books.

I think the old ones are boring (no offense) and the action doesn't come close to the action in the new ones. Ep. 3 is definitely my fav, though it's so sad. And it's dark. I don't know why anyone would have Palpatine as their fave character; he's so evil, and so opposite of the good side. I'd explain more, but I'd be spamming. Obi-Wan, Anakin, Padme, and R2D2 are my favorites. Only Padme, Anakin, and Obi-Wan are my favs out of the new ones, R2 is my all-time favorite.

He is my fave character. Yes, he is dark and manipulative and evil - possibly the baddest villain in the whole fantasy genre. But I like him because I can't see the Jedi exactly as good guys, I don't like their philosophy at all and I don't like the way they behaved, especially their attitude to Anakin.
Add to this that Palpatine was played wonderfully by Ian McDiarmid, add to this he nasty little speeches, his style and his intelligence and here you have a dark favourite. :p
And of course, my fave line:
"Are you threatening me, Master Jedi?"
